Nie Nie Day

As many of you know, Stephanie & Christian Nielson, of the NieNie Dialogues were in a plane crash a little over a week ago. They are trauma patients in a hospital in AZ, and with over 80% of Nies body burned, and more than 30% of Christian burned, they are in for a good fight...not to mention incredibly costly medical bills, house payments, rehabilitations, and who knows what else. Over at DesignMom, a few days ago, she announced that Thursday was NieNie Day, and encouraged bloggers all over the world to donate something to be auctioned off, or to bid for the cause.
I have decided to hold an auction as well at Madison Envy. Since I learned about this situation I felt like I needed to do something, and this is a perfect way to bond together with fellow bloggers to help someone in need.
To find out what I'm auctioning off head on over to Madison Envy's blog, and to find out what everyone else on the internet is auctioning...check out Design mom

Survived Week 1

I lived through the first week of student teaching, which wasn't bad at all. I'm not really doing any teaching right now, so I guess we will see how the first week goes after teaching full time. It is so funny to be around teenagers all day. Every time I walk down the hall I think how I wish I had a camera hidden on me and could take a picture of the things I see. I guess the same things happened when I was in high school, but now being the adult I laugh and roll my eyes! The first funny story I have is from Monday. We were watching a movie in one of the classes and a girl starts freaking out saying "Oh my gosh, that is the biggest spider I have ever seen". So I walk over there and yeah it wasn't a little guy, but no tarantula. So being the "teacher" I got to be the lucky one to step on it and kill. I'm no fan of spiders and usually am the one yelling to Brennen to come and kill it, but I quickly learned as the teacher you get to put on the "not afraid" roll!

Brennen has 3 more days of knocking, and I have never been more excited for the summer to be over! I can't wait to have him home. I am off to Utah this weekend to get all our things out of our apartment down there, and will meet up with my parents who will be up from St. George. I'm excited to see them, and the next post will have pictures I promise!

Back to High School

Today was my first day of student teaching at Madison High School. It was such a weird feeling to be back in high school, and brought so many memories flooding back of when I was in high school. My cooperating teacher is awesome and I feel like it is going to be a good semester. I have 2 Interior Design classes, a Foods and Nutrition, and a Dating/Adult Roles class. I am really excited about the classes I will be teaching, and will keep updated on how it is going.

The Beginning of the End

So it is finally here, after 4 years of school, I started my last semester today! I will be student teaching at Madison High School for the next 3 1/2 months in Family and Consumer Science classes. Today and tomorrow are teacher meetings and students start school on Wednesday. Brennen has 2 more weeks of selling and then he will be back in Rexburg. I CAN'T WAIT! He came home Saturday night and was here all day yesterday and it was the best day I have had in a long time. It was so nice to wake up in our own bed, go to church, and then just hang out at our house all day. I can't wait to be back together all the time and not just see each other on weekends. I wanted to post some recent pictures but realized my camera cord is still in Utah (along with half my kitchen!). So the pictures will have to wait a couple weeks. Sorry.
Until then I came across this amazing room, that is right up my ally. It was on Hostess With The Mostess blog, about planning parties around the theme of the room. If you have been to my house or seen pictures of it, you know that I love the black and white damask print, so I was in love when I saw this.
