On Being Pregnant

I went to the doctor on Wednesday and he said I was at a 1 and 70% effaced... I know that can really mean nothing but hearing it made me realize that the end is in sight! I have been thinking a lot lately about the things I am more than excited to have back...

~No more Miss Piggy feet! My ankles and feet have been getting SOOO swollen, it looks so gross
~Fitting into my regular shoes. My 2 sizes too big flats I bought are even tight now.
~ Wearing high heels
~ Fingers not looking like sausages
~ Being able to work out normally so I can get back to wearing my regular clothes
~ Every limb and joint not hurting
~Sleeping without being uncomfortable... doesn't take every ounce of energy to roll over!
~ Sleeping on my stomach
~ Back not constantly hurting
~ Not having to pee every hour
~ Being able to wear my wedding ring again
~ No more Tums!
~Being able to cross my legs comfortably

But I will miss-

~ Feelings her move inside me

Ummm I think that's it!!

P.S. I think we might have a name we are both agreeing on! I'm not going to hold my breath or let everyone know what it is though, just in case it doesn't work out.

Christmas Decor

I know that Thanksgiving is only tomorrow and I should have all my Thanksgiving decor up, but with the baby on the way I decided I wanted all my Christmas stuff up and done so I didn't have to worry about it. Here are some pictures of my Christmas decorations. My favorite is defiantly the pink tree!!

I was in search for an idea for a new Christmas wreath and saw this one from Eddie Ross. SO easy and quick, all together it cost maybe only $15 since I bought the ornaments at the $1 Store.

Brother

My brother was blessed with 3 older sisters... meaning another 3 mothers! He dealt with this pretty well growing up, we only dressed him up in girl clothes a few times, so he survived! He is a junior in high school right now and I just wanted him to know how great I think he is!

He just got his ACT score back and got a 27!! Defiantly did better than all is sisters... plus he has a 3.9 GPA!

He is really good at snowboarding and skim-boarding. He got 2nd place at a skimboard competition this summer!

And his hair defiantly keeps us on our toes. Occasionally he likes to go from one extreme to another!
Like going from this

to this

in a matter of a few minuets!

I love you Brother! You are going to make a great uncle!

Calling All Moms!

Pic from HERE

As the time to have this little one gets closer I am starting to get a little nervous that I may not have everything I need and in order. I'm pretty sure I have almost everything that I will need for her, but am wondering if there is something that you wished you would have had that didn't know about. Also, I have heard several people say they packed way to much in their hospital bag and didn't really use any of it. So what are the absolute necessary items that you are so glad you had? Any other last minute advice or tips would be greatly appreciated too.... like how to make your baby want to come early!

On it's way!

I found the stroller I have been dying to get on sale, which I have never seen since I have been eyeing it, so I took the plunge and ordered it! I can't wait for it to get here... ok, I can't wait for her to get here to be able to use it!

Great Christmas Gift Idea

How Does She?, which by the way is an awesome new website, posted about a free canvas photo print from Canvas People. This would be a great Christmas gift for grandparents or yourself! I just wish I had some darling newborn pictures already done to make one.

35 Weeks

~ My heated rice pack is needed multiple times a day for my back
~ Stomach itches like crazy
~ I'm getting really worried about choosing a name for her, I think she is going to be nameless for a little bit.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cakes

While we were in St. George when my dad had his heart attack, my aunt Taija made the most amazing Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cakes! She posted the recipe on her blog so naturally I had to make them. The recipe makes a lot so we took some treats to some of our friends!

For your taste buds' pleasure:
The cakes are super easy to make just 5 ingredients:
1 spice cake mix
2 eggs
1 15 oz can pumpkin
1/2 C water
1 C mini chocolate chips
Mix everything together, spoon into greased muffin tins and bake at 350 for 14 minutes.
Let the cakes cool on racks and enjoy plain. . . or. . . Top with cream cheese frosting:
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese (softened)
1/2 C butter (softened)
3 1/2 - 4 C powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
Cream the butter, vanilla and cream cheese together. Add powdered sugar one cup at a time until the frosting is spreadable.

I piped the frosting on top, sprinkled with a little cinnamon, and put a candy corn on top!

Halloween

We had a really fun Halloween this year. On Thursday night we went to a party some of our friends were hosting. We ate lots of good food, played some games (Brennen won the donuts on a string!), and then watched Tales From the Krypt. APX hosted a Halloween party for their employees, which I helped plan as part of my job, and it turned out really fun! After the party we went to Bren's brother Sam's house for more food and some family Rock Band!

Our little friend Hudson was enthralled with Brennen's dad who was dressed as a cowboy. He asked where his horse was!
