Corn Picking

Our stake has a farm that the members are able to go pick corn from. We met up with a few families in our ward and headed out to Greeley to the farm. Avalynn wasn't so sure about this not so girly adventure. The ground was pretty muddy so she would just sink or stick in the ground when she tried to walk. Brennen said we have got to get her in the dirt more! We got about 5 dozen ears of corn that I froze. It will be nice to have fresh corn all year long.

Miss Avalynn

Avalynn is at such a fun age right now! She is getting her own little personality and is starting to really act like a toddler now. She is quite the talker and is really good at communicating what she wants. I love that I am able to be home with her everyday to see her grow and develop. We have been having lots of fun since living in Colorado doing fun activities. We go to the park, library story time, have play dates with friends, McDonalds play place, color, do sidewalk chalk, etc. I love being her mom, it is the best thing I do, I just can't get enough of her!

Last Days an Only Child

We did a few fun things with Avalynn her last days as an only child. The poor thing doesn't have a clue that her world as she knows it is going to be rocked! Brennen won tickets to the Rockies game at work, so we drove down to Denver for the game. Avalynn loved it! Although she would have played at the park toys the whole time if we would have let her.

We also took her to Chuck-E-Cheese the night before my mom got here

Our New House

We closed on our house August 18! The day of closing was a nightmare to say the least. We had some problems with our loan guy, found some things out an hour before closing and spent an hour outside the title company while the sellers waited for us to see if we were going to be able to close that day. It was a mess and not something I ever want to go through again. But... we love our house, it is so nice to be settled, have all our things, have a garage and a yard and to feel somewhat normal. I know people have asked for pictures but to be honest I haven't hung 1 thing on the wall! Kinda sad, but we have been painting and there is still a lot of work to be done until I want to put pictures up! But here is one of the outside.

Avalynn loves to use the "doggie door" to go in the backyard

She now sleeps in a "big girl" bed!

Brennen loves having a yard to take care of and Avalynn loves to help him out...that is when she isn't afraid of the lawn mower!

Hopefully we will get going on all our projects and be able to post pictures soon!

Seeing Family

On our almost 3 week trip to Idaho and Utah we got to see lots of extended family!

On our way to St. George we stopped and had dinner with Cole. We walked around the Gateway for a little bit and went in the planetarium.

Avalynn got to play with lots of 2nd cousins
Morgan and Avalynn

Jess telling Avalynn "The Three Little Bears"

Avalynn loved played with Kaylee and Henlee

We saw the whole Hernandez family and went to Jordan's soccer game.

On our way home we also went to Elly's birthday party and saw the whole Ames side. The next morning we had breakfast at the Brooks' and Cami and Cole were in town so they came as well!

We also stopped and stayed the night in Vernal at my grandparents house. Avalynn loved all the toys Grandma Stagg had, and especially loved "riding" on the lawn mower!

I'm so thankful we had so much time to spend in Utah and that we were able to see so many family members!

St. George Visit

After a quick weekend to Rexburg to load our moving truck, Avalynn and I ventured on to St. George for a couple weeks while we waited to close on our house. I didn't tell my parents we were coming so when we showed up at their house at 2:30 am they were a little shocked! We had such a fun time just hanging out, playing with Mimi and Papa's toys, and just spending time with my parents. Avalynn loves her grandparents so 2 full weeks of undivided attention from Mimi and Papa was pure bliss for her. Here is a picture run down of things we did.

Played dress-up in mommy's old dresses

Rode the carousal downtown with Mimi

Played at the splash park

Helped Mimi and Papa set up for a wedding

Colored almost every morning

Enjoyed Papa's homemade ice cream

Went to another splash park

Went to dinner at Uncle Devin's work

Went to the fair

Rode the bike in the backyard

Went and saw Grease at Tuachan

Went to Papa's work for ice cream...Uncle Devin was there too!

Went on lots of walks with Papa to the mailbox and park. She loved collecting rocks along the way and putting them in his cargo pockets!

Went to Shandee's baby shower

And Avalynn's favorite part was probably Mimi getting this giant pink "Pippo" for her. I don't think there is anyway we would have gotten out of Costco without it. She still sleeps with it every night and will say "Pippo, Mimi", it's pretty cute!

Thank you mom and dad for letting us take over your house for a couple weeks!
