Minute To Win It

When I watched the first episode of the game show Minute To Win It, I thought it looked like so much fun! I sent an e-mail to find out how I could be on the show. They told me to make a tape, and I hadn't had much success with that in the past, so I didn't do anything.

Then a few weeks ago I got an e-mail from them saying that they were having a casting call in Salt Lake. I was so excited! I called Kellie and she wanted to come try out, too. They even sent us a VIP pass so we didn't have to wait in the general admission line.

So we were in a group of about 12 people, and they wanted us to tell them what we do and something about ourselves. Kellie went right before me and talked about how she is a speech therapist and so she makes kids cry. I went next and said that I am a second grade teacher, and I also make kids cry. Then I told them about how Kellie and I jumped in a giant vat of green jello. I guess they liked that, because they chose 4 people from our group to stay, and I was one of them!

They said they are doing a new trivia show and wanted to know if we were interested. So I stayed a little longer and took a trivia test. Then that night I got a call saying they wanted me to come in the next day!! I was so excited!

So I went to the KSL studios on Sunday and did a little trivia game with about 12 other people in my group. It was so much fun! We got up and told about ourselves in front of the camera and then got to answer trivia questions. Some of my questions were:
"Who was the political figure that shot someone when he went hunting in 2006?" I got that one right at the last second. It was Dick Cheney.
"Which Beatle's first name comes first in the alphabet?" I had to go through all the Beatle's names, but I got that one too.
The one I didn't get was "Who is the quarterback for the NY Giants?" It was Eli Manning. Duh!

Anyway, I don't think I did so well, because they split us into groups and all the funny, exciting people were in a different group from mine. But it was a blast anyway! They said we would be getting a call between now and summer if we got chosen.

Now I want to go on the Price Is Right. I've got the fever!!! (not the Bieber fever)

Well, it has been one year since I interviewed to be an intern. I can't believe that much time has gone by! I remember how excited I was when I found out. I didn't get anything done at work that day! They told us that if we did not get chosen, we would get an e-mail, and if we did get chosen we would get a phone call. So I was sitting there watching my e-mail and my phone. Any time I got a text or an e-mail, my heart skipped a beat!!

Then I got the call, and here I am! I have been teaching for about 7 months, and I have loved it! I love my school, and I love my students, and I love my parents! They have all been amazing. I think I was definitely blessed with very supportive parents, and students that don't have too many problems. : )

I don't know where I will be next year or what grade I will be teaching, but I have had such a wonderful experience and hopefully next year will be just as great.
