A very Happy Be-Lated Halloween

Yep, it's the middle of November, and I am still talking about Halloween.

Well, it's a pretty important reason, right? You betcha.
We've told the fam., and I've spilled the beans to my work, so now it's time to post on the blog.
Happy Halloween from all of us:

Will, Amy, baby skeleton & Wes too.

Summer Update

Summer is almost over, grrr. Having a fun Summer. Enjoying the park, swimming, time with friends & family & our first trip(s) to the E.R. for our little man to get stitched up. Lesson learned...when in need of stitches (& it's after hours) go straight to Primary's. Don't go to the local insta care & then to St. Mark's Hospital. Wait 3+ hours to then have the doc refer you to Primary's. Total time for our little fiasco (Will jumping on the couch-then over the couch). 6 hours, 7 stitches, 3 doctors, 2 ER medical bills (yikes), and one very unhappy child during the whole procedure. The doctor said that 9 out of 10 times when the child receives the medication to calm them down they go into a "happy drunk" state. 1 out of 10 times they turn into an "angry drunk." Yep, Will was most definitely an angry drunk. He screamed the entire time while 2 nurses held him down. It was not fun to watch. Although after he was kind of loopy, which was entertaining.

First major goose egg, after hitting the sidewalk during the fireworks
A few days later...stitches
Good thing he's a boy with all these bumps & bruises

Loving the swing

Enjoying a bright blue cupcake & carrots at the same time, why not?

In attempt to capture a self-portrait...best one we got.

OBX, NC

Where to begin with our fun Boyack family vacation to the Outer Banks, NC??? We spent 8 days with the family, going to the beach, playing in the pool, riding bikes, seeing the sights, eating food, having talent shows, dance parties, playing games, relaxing & just laughing & spending time together. Because 3 of Wes' siblings live out of state it was SO fun to all be together. It was truly one of those vacations that was sad to see it come to an end.

Will enjoying the sand
Will all tuckered out while playing at the beach. This day we drove to the far north end of the Outer Banks, (just a few miles past our beach house) which leads you to a dirt road, and then you can drive on the beach (thanks to 4 wheel drive cars). We also saw some wild horses here.
Playing on the beach was so fun as the water stays shallow quite a ways out, the waves were mild, the water was a good temp, and the sand it soft
(sorry CA beaches, the East Coast beaches are better).
Bodie Island Light House. Loved this. Yes, Wes wore this wife beater a lot during the trip...he's on vacation, right? He purchased these for all the boys, so they could surprise their mom during our family picture. And then, they re-appeared at all times the rest of the week.

Jockey's Ridge, Sand Dunes. We climbed up, played, flew kites & and let the kids run around. It is a beautiful setting.

Kitty Hawk. First In Flight, where the Wright Brother's took flight. Wes & I have a 'flying' picture here when we were dating in DC & took a weekend vacay to the OBX, and we wanted to re-create it...now with Will.

The entire Boyack crew. Family Photo time. Yes, we also took some serious photos (unfortunately, it was a tad windy), but I liked this funny picture.

Family Photo Time. Some of our favorites moments were going to the beach at night. Loved this. Beautiful, warm and just lovely.

Will's first time in the ocean. He loved it. He said, "I want water," "I want beach" the entire trip. This was also the start of his "I want..." phase.

A night stroll on the beach.

Running around at Kitty Hawk. Will has now decided he does not like the camera, & looks away when he sees me with it. Hence, a lot of pics with his eyes the other direction.

Hanging at the Beach

The 3 boys: Will, Zack & Blake. All age 1. These 3 boys had a fun time together, minus Will starting to push & hit during this trip...not so fun for us or the recipients. Sorry Zack & Blake. Can't wait for you guys to be great friends!

Thanks Wally & Gaylynne for this wonderful time in NC. We loved it! And thanks for the good times with all you Boyack's...we miss you all already!

Happy Birthday America

Fun weekend spent with family & friends-Pac-12 party, campfires, s'mores, bbq's, swimming, naps (yes, we managed 2 naps this weekend & it was heavenly), & fireworks. Will enjoyed the firework show saying "Look" & "Wow" while loving his blue sucker from Grandma.
Happy 4th!

In hiding

Apparently we have all been in hiding from the blog these past few weeks/months. Life is busy, but good. Here is Will in his usual hiding spot...in the kitchen cupboards, after clearing about all the contents first. Our little guy is a happy, active, busy, & quick. He has one speed, "GO!"
He is running around, climbing on everything, gaining his independence & opinions about things, and saying more words (of course his favorite is "no, no, no"...while waving his finger in the air). He weighs a whopping 28 lbs, which is getting a tad heavy for me. He follows me around everywhere...well that is until I want him to get dressed, change his diaper or hurry and go somewhere. We have started implementing time-out a little due to hitting. Not too sure how effective considering I said to Will after hitting me, "Will, if you hit mama again you will go sit in time-out." He got up, walked over to the time out rug & sat himself down. Hmm.

Helping Wes in the basement, while holding his football (slowly, but surely the basement is coming along). We are finally putting up the trim, happy day!

Long Over Due Post

So I am way over-due on updating this blog.
Life is Busy...managing work home & chasing around our busy 18 month old. He is on the go-running, climbing, jumping, jabbering, hiding, throwing things over the banister down the stairs, splashing his hands in the toilet (yuck!), falling down the stairs (I thought this would happen more with first learning to crawl & walk, but now he thinks he can go down stairs facing forward, ugh), bumping his head & chin-& most of the time happy...well, if I am in sight.
We went on a week long cruise to Mexico & had a blast. But ever since our return Will has been super clingy. It's okay, I'll take the hugs & reassurance. We are so grateful for the time we had, and that Will was in good hands. I am sure we missed him more than he missed us, right?

Will & his Red Balloon that could not leave his hand.
He bathed with it, slept with it & clung to it like crazy.
Hiding behind the couch
Driving the car & the Children's Museum.
He would not leave the car & did not want to to anything else.
Happy for warmer weather. Riding his toy around the backyard. I
I have a feeling we are going to be spending a lot of time outside this Summer.
On the Cruise...in the Dining Room for Dinner.
With Sammy & Megan
Dinner
At the Comedy Lounge (enjoying the 'Family Friendly' Shows, only).
Have you been a comedy club for the 18+? You know you are getting old
when you become less tolerant of that type of humor.
And Yes, Sammy & Wes wore their matching ReAl Salt Lake jerseys throughout the cruise.
Adorable isn't it?
In Puerto Vallarta at El Eden Zip Line. So Fun!
This is where the movie 'Predator' was filmed. They took us on a 45 min Safari Jeep type tour to the 14 zip lines. It was the best. The tour guides would hide in the bushes & scare us (well me), play jokes on us (actually just me) about our cables being broken & send us on our way, hang us over the edge across waterfalls, forests & beautiful views hundreds of ft on the air. We loved this.
Sammy & Wes excited about finding a Rite Aid to get Thrifty Ice Cream.
Perfect way to begin our trip in Long Beach. We had a little time to kill after arriving in Long Beack & waiting to board the ship. So of course we had to find a Rite Aid. Happy Day!
Now for some of the portraits taken on the cruise.
Seriously the backdrops, the poses, the photographers, the people posing...priceless. We had more fun taking funny pictures, looking at them, & of course looking at all the other beauty's.
Yes, we are too cheap to purchase them. Therefore we took a couple pictures (of the prints) with our own camera...hence the poor quality. But still some good laughs.
Sammy & Wes, all serious.
Formal Night
Gotta love Wes going cross-eyed for this one.
Enjoying the Ship
Cabo San Lucas. Enjoying some delicious nachos on the beach.
We were so excited to be back on Cabo, and we went to one of the resorts we stayed at a few years ago, and hung out by the pool.
Arriving back to Long Beach
On the wild bus ride in Puerto Vallarta.
Showing off our 2 soccer jerseys we purchased for Will.
Loved the trip. We had a lot of fun. First Cruise for both Wes & I & we loved the experience. We ate way too much food, enjoyed way too much warm melting chocolate cake & pineapple frozen yogurt (yum!). Wes & Sammy drank diet coke like crazy (at all hours of the day). Loved our waiter (Willyma-"William", from Indonesia), I almost wanted to hug him good-bye our last day. The people watching it entertaining, the spa was great & we especially love walking around the ports & eating the local food (to be honest it was better than the food on the ship). We couldn't have imagined having Will with us (although we missed him), but we grateful to know he was happy at home (with his red balloon)...while we played, layed in the sun, read magazines, enjoyed Mexico, slept in & ate ourselves silly.

William's Christmas Dance

Every time the famous Target Christmas ad came across the TV, William would start breaking down and shaking his booty to the "I can't wait" rap song. We love his dance moves, so we got it on video!

Lucky 7

Happy 7 Year Anniversary!

It has been a great 7 years. And as Wes likes to say, "Seven is Magic". (Apparently it is the title of a book he read in Elementary School)-Love it.

Life has been good these past couple of months. Super busy, but having a good time. And yes, I have been a major slacker when it comes to updating the blog. So, here are a few pictures for good measure.

Happy New Year 2011. Looking forward to a great year.

Happy Wedding Day
Looking cute in his Snowman hat

Family Photo with the cutest Santa
Ready to go-Loving his plaid outfit
Playing on the slide
Loving Christmas-I mostly was trying to capture a picture of his outfit. I love these little one-piece outfits...and will have him wearing them as long as possible.
