First Day of Kindergarten and 2nd Grade

Atticus and Finn both started school this week. Finn was excited to get back to school and see his friends. Atticus could not wait to start school. He likes his teacher and has made a good little friend named Malik. I could not help but shed a few tears as I left Atticus in his class. Luckily, Kindergarten is only 2 1/2 hours each day. I think it is a good transition for both of us.

I had my camera prepared so I could snap a photo of Atticus as he finished his first day. I was a little scared when he looked like this. Fortunately, his facial expression did not reflect how his day went. He loved it and couldn't wait to go the next day.

Finn had a great day and liked his teacher too. The first week was a success and we are looking forward to a great school year.

Piper continues to be the sweetest little baby. She is a lot of fun and has brought us all so much joy. She is getting too big too fast!

All Stars

After Finn's swim team ended, the coach choose the 2 fastest times from each age group and made an All Star Swim Team. We were so excited that Finn made the team. They practiced every night for a week and ended with a meet on Saturday.

One night the kids had to swim in their clothes for the entire 2 hours. Needless to say, Finn was exhausted and wasn't sure he ever wanted to do swim team again if he had to wear his clothes.

The Day of the Meet

All of Finn's hard work paid off. He got 1st in the freestyle and 2nd in the backstroke. Finn had a great summer swimming and really learned a lot. Josh and I both agree that he is a much better swimmer than either of us.
