The Mortensen Family

At church yesterday they announced that the temple would be closed for two weeks for cleaning. Wyatt looked at me and said, "Oh no, I can't get married!!"

So, a couple of weeks ago I got a flier to pass out to my students about a 5K Fitness Challenge sponsored by the city of Fontana. It was to take place at the California Speedway (yes, the same racetrack Lightning McQueen races on!) and best of all it was free. I thought it sounded like fun so I put it on my calendar. I asked my mom if she wanted to join us and she said, "You're not running it are you?" Of course not! She asked me that several more times before the race started, just to make sure.
Carson rode his bike the whole time! I was very proud of him. He just kept asking if he was winning the race. I assured him that he was. It was a fun event and good preparation for our next 5K in April (which I plan on actually running, if I can).

Yes, we had a bout of impetigo go around our house. Wyatt had it for a week and I thought it was just a combination of chapped lips and zits. But at his 3 year old check up he had an ear infection and impetigo. The doctor gave us a prescription for an oitment just in case any of the other kids caught it and what do you know a week later Emma had it. Poor kids don't act any different but I couldn't go to the gym or take them to day care this week and no pictures for their birthday.

Emma:

9. Calls Wyatt and Carson "her boys" (Where are my boys? What are my boys doing?)
10. Does not like ponytails and will cry for an hour after having them done to her hair.

Wyatt:

6. Has learned not to touch knives, the hard way
7. He is very busy and it's best not to leave him alone for very long

9. Loves to help bake and cook. Whenever he sees me in the kitchen he will ask, "Big chair?" so he can pull a chair over and help me.
10. Gets scared easily and covers his ears (When any bad guy comes on a movie he will walk all the way to the kitchen doorway and watch from a safe distance away with his ears covered)
