One On One Time

It all started because we couldn't afford to take the whole family to the hockey game fundraiser for the school. So I thought why not just sent Carson and Todd. They can have a fun one on one outing and we can save money at the same time. So started our latest round of one on one time.
I took Emma to the local playhouse to see Cinderella. We had a lot of fun and got ice cream and rode the carousel after the play. She sure is a talker. She didn't stop talking the whole time we were together.
Todd took Wyatt bowling. Wyatt's choice for lunch was Del Taco for a quesadilla and large Sprite so he could get the souvenir cup, which he managed to spill all over. He wanted to save two pieces of his quesadilla for Carson and Emma (how thoughtful). He played some arcade games and his favorite, air hockey.
Carson and Todd went to the Ontario Reign hockey game. Carson had a blast cheering on the Reign and eating popcorn and ice cream. They went to Round Table pizza for dinner and played a tank arcade game that Carson can't stop talking about.

Emma's Animals

Emma loves her babies and stuffed animals. She is especially loving that we got out all of our baby equipment like the swing, bouncie seat, bumbo, etc. She loves putting her babies and animals in them to play. But I must say she is not very creative when it comes to naming her things. Her babies are Baby Emma and Baby Wyatt. Her stuffed elephant is named Elephanty, her giraffe is Giraffey, her stuffed bear is Bear Bear, and her toy dolphin is named---you guessed it Dolphiny. I'm just glad she doesn't get to name this baby that is coming.

Emma's Prayer

Emma has always had something special with Great Grandma. She loves her so much. The other night we went down there for dinner and Emma said the prayer. Among other things she said, "Please bless that Great Grandma won't be old. And die."

Mean People

Last week I was doing my morning duty at school, which entails standing in front of the school with a smile on my face and making sure no kids get run over by the crazy parent drivers. Some lady drove by and rolled her window down and yelled, "You pregnant again? What is this number 6?" Then proceded to drive off. I have pretty thick skin and really try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this lady was just mean. There are so many people that give me dirty looks when I have all of my kids with me. I can't imagine what it's going to be like with one more. It really made me start thinking, and having a bit of a breakdown. (I'm sure hormones have something to do with it!) But really, what was I thinking getting pregnant? What am I going to do with another child? I'm a mediocre mother at best right now, and another one? Do you know how much it's going to cost just to go to McDonalds? And if each one does one extra curricular activity--think of the expense and the time? I'm not sure if there's a big difference between three and four, maybe we should have stopped at two! Oh ya, that wasn't possible. How do I plan on working part time, hopefully going back to full time, with four kids to raise? What was I thinking?

And then I remembered the strong feeling of the spirit washing over me when I realized that there was a special spirit waiting for our family. I will never forget the answer that I received when praying if we should have another baby. So, it will work out. I will be a good, no great mother for these four children. And I will smile at the people who give me dirty looks.

What to Do on a Rainy Day?

Monday we all had a day off, but it was supposed to rain all day. Not having any money to spend, we decided to head down to Grandma's house for a Wii marathon.

We managed to take some time out to splash in the rain puddles!

Peanut Butter Balls

I found a recipe for Peanut Butter Balls in the Family Fun magazine. It had a picture that made them look so pretty and fun to make. Let me tell you in real life, not so pretty and more funny than fun. The balls were too crumbly so after having peanut butter crumbles all over everything I finally sent the kids out and rolled the balls by myself. Then I called them all back to dip them. Emma ended up with chocolate from her head to toes and I kept catching Wyatt licking them or taking a bite out of them, then dipping. Just fare warning if we bring you over a plate of peanut butter balls, eat at your own risk!
