Daddy Daughter Dance

Our school had a Daddy Daughter Dance and as soon as Emma heard about it she came home and very formally asked Todd if he would go with her. Then she told him they better start practicing their dance. The night arrived and Emma picked out both her and Daddy's outfits. She really wanted him to wear a flower to match her but we didn't have one. They had a great time dancing to "Teach Me How to Jimmer", making crafts, eating cookies and taking pictures in the photo booth!

Fun Family Friday--Harry Potter

We finished reading the first Harry Potter book as a family so we had to have a Harry Potter party!
In the mailbox, their acceptance letters to Hogworts awaited them.

They then had to go on a ride through Gringotts Wizarding Bank to get their gold.

Next was Diagon Alley which consisted of Ollivander's Wand Shop,

Eeylops Owl Emporium,

Madame Malkin's Robes for all Occasions to get measured and get their robes,

and cauldrons,

and of course Honeydukes for some wizard candy.

When they got to school they were sorted into their schools. We had a clean sweep of Gryffindor.

Then it was time for our feast. Quidditch pies and Butterbeer.

It was time to go to class. The first class was potions taught by Snape. They made a marvelous potion from jellyfish serum, explosive juice, and dragon eggs. It really exploded!

They learned some very valuable spells from Professor McGonagall. And even turned a spider into a rat in transfiguration class.

Then it was time to go through the trapdoor!
They made it past Fluffy (Tucker) by playing musical instruments and singing. The devil's snare (lasso ropes) really got them. Then they had to find the right key to get into the house.
A quick game of wizard chess.

And finally they had to find and drink the right potion. They made it to the mirror or Erised and put together the clue which only revealed itself when held up to the mirror. The reward--watching the movie!!

Wyatt's New Tooth

Can you say BRACES?!!

Big Boy

Owen is officially out of his high chair and sitting at the table with us. I was hoping it would cut down on the food throwing and mess making but it didn't. Owen seems to enjoy eating with us though and I loved throwing the old gross high chair away!!
