Emma's Dance Recital

So Emma's Dance Company had their summer recital that showcased dances from all over the world. Her class got to do this cute little Chinese number where they ran all over the stage and showed off their ballet positions and skills. Way to go Emma! I so will never forget the little finger in the air bobble head thing that was her favorite move. Emma also loved that move, but her favorite part without doubt is the make-up and LIPSTICK!

Carson's 8

Carson's birthday started out with birthday pancakes and a note from Daddy, since he left for work early.  Carson was very excited to see his note!

Carson wanted to go for a bike ride on the beach for his birthday so we loaded all teh bikes in the truck and headed down after work.  We made it about half a mile before Emma slid out on some sand and had a major crash.  She got road rash pretty bad and enjoyed the rest of the ride in the trailer crying! The rest of us all had fun though and we made it about 6 miles!
After our bike ride we went to Ruby's for dinner and Carson had his own brownie ice cream sundae to eat.
When we got back to Grandma's house he got to open his presents.  Here he is sporting his new Cub Scout uniform that Grandma got him!! Happy happy birthday!

Owen's Darth Vador Song

Marrying Emma

Today the kids were playing "Marry Emma".  How this game works is they both try to make Emma happy and at the end of the game Emma picks which one she wants to marry.  What a deal.  So Carson took her for a "limo" ride on the glider swing and got her a drink, and Wyatt went hang-gliding with her and fought Carson for her. I'm not sure Emma's ever going to let this game end!!

My Week

I've just finished a crazy week!  I'm looking for a job for next year and had a job interview on Monday, they called me back for a second interview on Wednesday where I had to teach a 5 minute lesson to the panel.  They called me back for a third interview on Friday where I had to teach a 15 minute lesson.  In between all of that we had swim lessons all week, made four batches of jam (with my mom's help), Todd and I spoke at Girls Camp on Wednesday night and Saturday was Carson's Ninjago birthday party!!  I was really happy when Sunday rolled around.  Now I'm just waiting to hear about the job...

Update: I didn't get the job.  There must be something better waiting for me!

Funny Wyatt

"I know where most of your blood goes...your heart and under your arms, you know where it's saggy!"

"I know what you do when you see a girl you don't know and you think she's pretty and you like her shirt...(enter woof whistle here)."

The Beachhouse

We had the opportunity to once again join the Taylor's at the beachhouse for a couple of days.  Todd was able to come with us this time.  Even though it was cold, we had a great time.

Fathers and Sons

Our stake Father's and Sons campout fell through, so our ward decided to have one instead.  They camped locally at a campground in Lytle Creek.  They had fun hiking up to the waterfall.  The water was REALLY cold, but the bishop told them that whoever went in the waterfall would get his picture posted in the hall at church.  The dare worked for Wyatt, and almost for Carson.

Emma and I decided to get our nails done while the boys were away. Emma picked out our color...neon pink!  Then we rented Barbie: The Mermaid Tale 2.  It was a fun girls night.

Farewell to Disneyland

One of the great parts of living in Southern California is having annual passes to Disneyland. Our year of Disneyland adventures has sadly come to an end.  Here's some of my favorite pictures from the year...
The Rides:
Owen's first roller coaster!
Toy Story Mania
The kids were finally brave enough to try California Screamin'...
...and they LOVED it!!
and Owen rode the merry go round
One of Carson's favorite rides...Space Mountain
The Jungle Cruise with all our friends..22 of us!
Wyatt loved Splash Mountain
Carson loved Grizzly River Run
And Owen loved Finding Nemo

 The Characters:

 The Fun:
Whenever we went to Disneyland Owen would have to have his Mickey hat!

Funny story...I was going to the bathroom and had our passes in my back pocket.  As I stood up, the passes fell out right when the automatic flusher went off.  I bravely reached my hand in the toilet and rescued the passes...all but one.  My pass was flushed down the toilet!  They replaced it for free because it was such a funny story.

The Exhaustion:

Farewell Disneyland...we will miss you
