Wyatt vs. Pepper Spray
So a while back I bought Amy some pepper spray to take jogging with her so that she could be safe when I was too lazy to run with her (which was pretty much every time!). Well the morning of the Ward Easter party, Amy had left the pepper spray out on the kitchen counter and had left to go reserve the spot at the park for the party. I was out working in the garage with Owen, when I came in from the house to find Wyatt guzzling water and complaining that his throat was hurting. I told him to suck it up, quit being a baby (good parenting skills!) and continued on my way. A few minutes later as I entered into the Kitchen, I noticed a large "orangish" oil slick on the tile floor. Asking Emma and Carson what it was, they responded that they didn't know what happened, but their eyes were starting to itch. It was about that time that I finally figured out what must have happened. I called Wyatt into the room, showed him the bottle of pepper spray and ...
Me: I asked him if he had done anything with it.
Wyatt: "Yes" (while gasping for breath)
Me: "Why?"
Wyatt: "Because I was curious"
Me: "How did you get it open?" I asked (it had a safety mechanism on it).
Wyatt: "With my teeth" he replied.
Me: "Wyatt, do you know what this is?"
Wyatt: "Nope" he responded with blood shot, watery eyes.
Me: "That's the pepper spray that I got for mom in-case a bad guy tries to get her."
Wyatt: "Oooohh", (pause), "is that why my lungs feel like they are on fire?"
Somehow, deep down, I guess I've always known that Wyatt would be the first person in the family to get hit with pepper spray. Wyatt, I love you and your curiosity!!!

Father's and Sons Campout
The boys headed off to Silverwood Lake. Who knows what actually happens at these campouts. All I know is they come back happy...and filthy. Looks like tadpole hunting was a success.
While the men are away...
the mice will play (or get pedicures)!

Puke
So here we are...Mother's Day 2014. I have a lovely breakfast. The kids play all morning. Todd yells at them to get ready for church instead of me. Wyatt complains that his tummy hurts and he simply CAN'T go to church. I accuse him of lying (because he felt fine to play all morning) and tell him to get in the car anyway. We get to church, he lays down on the pew. Then right during the sacrament prayer he sits up and starts puking. Over and over. I guess he wasn't faking it! Did you know the Member's Custodial Closet is not properly equipped to clean large amounts of puke...from the carpet in the chapel...during the Sacrament? Luckily it's Mother's Day so cleaning up your kid's puke is totally against the rules and Todd has to do it. I take Wyatt home and get 2 hours of peace to myself! It's turning out to be a great day.

Aunt Agnes
This is my Aunt Agnes. She is my great aunt. My Grandma's ex-husbands, brother's, ex-wife. Got it? She has been at all of our family functions for as long as I can remember. Easter breakfasts, Christmas dinners, and she would often just come over to chat with Grandma and see the grandkids. She and my grandma used to meet for lunch all the time at Knott's Berry Farm. Well, she's getting older and moving into a senior home in Washington. Grandma will miss her, and so will I.
Performance Season
We had a busy month with lots of performances. Carson had several performances with his showchoir group, The Showstoppers. It was a country themed performance and he was great (after he figured out what to say for the song "Thank God I'm a Country Boy".) He loved it and wants to try out again next year.
Wyatt and Emma performed with the school Tiger Choir. They did a medly of recent popular songs and the big hit was "What Does the Fox Say". Emma and two of her friends taught dance moves to the rest of the choir. They were adorable.

Emma had her dance recital and danced three dances. She was very cute on stage and loved it, especially tap. Man can she shake it!
And let's not forget the piano recital. Wyatt, Emma and Carson performed two songs each and they all did spectacular! I was very proud.
And now we have a lot more free time on our hands...YAY!!
