Labor Day Weekend

It's the first time in 10 years we were not camping over Labor Day weekend. I really missed camping, but we managed to have fun anyway.

We went on a long bike ride from Huntington Beach Pier to Balboa Pier and back. (13 miles)

We stopped at a park along the way to try out our swing jumping skills.

Then stopped for lunch at Ruby's on the Balboa Pier. Saw some surfing and fishing and even a seal playing in the water.

We stopped to play at a new beach on our way back to the Huntington Pier, where the Santa Ana River flows into the ocean. The kids all had fun while I took a little nap. It was such a fun day trip--the only thing I would change would be to bring more water and a bigger lock for the bikes!

We went to church with my mom on Sunday and had a fun time introducing the kids to my cousin Jenay's kids who were staying with their grandma. We made a play date to go to the beach with them the next day and had a great time!

Wyatt brought home a muscle and wanted to crack it open to eat it...until he actually saw the inside!

I guess if you can't be camping, the beach is the next best thing!!
