Ding, ding..we have a WINNER!!

Well....I know that EVERYONE has just been dying to find out the sex of our baby, but let me assure you not nearly as much as moi. After a sleepless night (it felt like Christmas Eve like when I was a kid) we had our doctor visit today. The proud parents to be were very prepared with VHS tape and camcorder in hand (which I will post soon)......so without further ado.... we would like to announce that it appears that we have a very healthy BOY flavor in my belly!! Yep, that's what I said....a BOY! We are very excited! Now we just have to pick a name!!?? and decorate his room!!? and buy him cute clothes!!?....

Coley Meister!

We were able to watch Cole for Taylor and Jill on Dec. 6th when they had a Christmas party for work! We had too much fun! He loved, LOVED! playing with our Nerf Straightshot Shooters. But to tell you the truth I don't know who had more fun, Coley or Sigh! The minute Cole got to our house he started running, then he saw the stairs and must have remembered "the guns are down there!" Well, after running an errand and eating dinner the playing began. Also, Jill let me borrow her doppler to hear the babies heatbeat. Cole has seen that done once by his mother and twice now by me..he knew what to do!! (I missed the picture of him actually putting the doppler up to his own belly, so stinkin' cute!!)

Baby Bump

YES! I look pregnant, not just "oh, she's put on a few pounds"! I feel like I look huge for being just 18 weeks today, but if you look at it in months...that's 4 1/2 months...practically half way! I feel great! So, not so bad for half way!!! Thank goodness the nausea is over and I'm even getting a full night of sleep. I haven't even had to get up to use the restroom in the middle of the night! But don't worry..I know sleepless nights and frequent potty stops will return!

I've been feeling the baby and girls..it does not feel like gas..at least my gas! It feels like a flutter or a stretch from the inside! But, really I'm not sure how to describe it!

We have our ultrasound on Friday, December 21st! I am so excited to see our baby and to find out what it is!! I feel so blessed to be carrying this baby and I know Heavenly Father must love me!! I look forward to sharing our exciting news just before Christmas!

And the Results Are...

Well, the results are in! And by the tie breaking vote of my mother-in-law, it appears more of you feel I am having a boy! Oh, goody! Cole won't be the lone grandson anymore!!

Thanks to all who voted! We find out right before Christmas! Sooooo exciting!

Halloween!!!

I LOVE Halloween!! Even before Halloween is over I'm thinking of my (our) costume for next year. This year's costumes have been planned since Silas and I went to San Antonio on our one year anniversary trip in January. I thought it would be fun to dress like the Santitas Chip Lady and have Silas be a senor. So we are Maria and Jose Santitas. Just look at a bag of those chips and you'll see what I mean (besides the fact that I'm posting a picture, too! duh) Our friends Will and Deb had their annual Halloween party on the 27th so these are some pics from the Partee!! By the way we won best couple costume, again, for the 2nd year in a row!!! Happy Haunting!!

Baby Woolery #1 is on Its Way!!

Hi everyone! I know it's been almost (almost!) a month since I wrote on my blog, but the only exciting thing that's happened to us, since I started school, is that. . . I'm expecting!! YEAH! I wasn't allowed to tell until now and even now seems a little soon! I am 9 1/2 weeks along and for those of you I have not told, I'm sorry you had to find out through my blog!!!

I feel really good except for the fact that I'm super tired (nothing new there!), a little green in the afternoon-early evenings (I haven't pukied yet) and the fact that my sense of smell has magnified 10,000%!! Ohhh! I can't stand my perfumes, lotions, Silas' breath, colognes (one of my 2nd graders wears one really strong, wants to smell like daddy, yeah, I might have to phone his mother!!) and the smell and thought of hamburger is enough to throw me over the edge!! I feel rather bloated and not quite pregnant, just fat! But man am I excited, so I really don't care about all the junk my body will be going through, just as long as I have a healthy baby in the end! We should find out the sex around Christmas time. Sounds like a good present to me!!
Then the long wait continues to May 4th! One super great thing about May 4th and not June 4th is that I will be ending my school year about a month early!! Woohoo for me! Don't get me wrong, I love my kids but they can do without me for the last month of school right? I feel bad for them because I'm so stinkin' grumpy!! What should I do? Will it pass? I hope so! Anyway! Love to you all and feel free to share what advice you have.

School Has Begun!

Yes, school has started! I can't believe this is my 10th year teaching! For those of you who don't know, I'm teaching 2nd grade this year after teaching 3rd/Reading Recovery for the past 4 years and before that I taught 1st grade for 4 years. Oh and Art for 1 year! Yep, the years just fly by.

I have been soooo busy getting ready this year. I moved classrooms and was not able to go in and organize until August 1st. I was amazed at all the things that were left behind for me. The teacher from 3 teachers ago in this room had taught for 30 something years and had left most of her files for the new incoming 1st year teacher. Well, she left after that year and left all the files for the next new incoming 1st year teacher. When she left......you guessed it, she left all the stuff (shiz), too! So I spent several days going through her old files and chucked most of it! It was quite liberating and got me into this major dejunking mode...so I felt total relief and not an ounce of guilt throwing some of my things "that I'll use next year" AWAY!! YEAH!! The funniest thing I found among all the artifacts left behind were book reports. These were written by 2nd graders back in 1971!! What the heck!!! My husband was born in 1971!!! Who keeps those things. I learned a great lesson those several days and hope to be much better in the "oh, I just NEED this" moments!

School is going good...I think I'm more tired this year! It's been hard getting used to having 2 classes and boy are they different. If I had to pick a favorite class, which I wouldn't, but if I did, it would be my afternoon class...the kids are a little more endearing, but there are some in my morning class that I would clump in with them if I could! They sure are cute though. Today one of my little boys in the afternoon class raised his hand during a little math test that I was giving them and he proceeds to tell me that someone "farted". (Why thank you very much, definitely needed to know that) So I said to him, "well, they should say excuse me right?" Of course, others heard me so then I had to say to the whole class, "Boys and girls...if you are 'Tooty Fruity' please say excuse me...we all have to do it sometimes, but we need to be polite and say excuse me." So of course they are trying not to giggle but then I get the giggles and so we all just had a good laugh for a minute. But they just thought calling it "tooty fruity", which I got from Val, was the funniest thing they had ever heard in all their 7-8 years!!! Pretty funny!

Well, I'm trying to be better about first remembering and thenwriting down the funny, cute things these kids say and do...so look forward to some hilarious posts the next 9 months!! Happy school year to all!

Summer Fun!

So I've decided being Auntie Amy is quite fun! I do love being a teacher, but having my summers off is the best since during them I can spend more time with Rylie, Saige, Cole, and Olivea!! We read books, play outside on the swings and in our pool! I sure do love these kids and can't wait to add one of my own to the clan!!

Today, I had all 3 of the Ehat kids! Jill was getting her hair done by Val, so I volunteered. Val has been going in to school on Fridays to get a few more hours and I usually watch the girls, but today I had Cole, too! They are so dang cute! I wish I had a camera attached to my forehead so every time we do something I could get the smiles and expressions they have!!

After bringing up all of my toys and putting away unnecessary snacks, I turned on some music and we all danced. Saige was actually trying to snap with me! Then I decided it was time to head outside..but then they saw the pool...so I pumped up the pool. That was a task. Rylie kept pretty well entertained helping me with the pool but the other two, especially Cole, was another question! So I finally turned on the hose so Cole could just barely get a trickle of water. He sprayed the grass and the cement and stomped in the puddle! Totally a boy! And like Taylor...."loves" to do yard work!!

So, then we came inside to get changed...Rylie first, then Saige, then Cole. When I took off Colies diaper Rylie and Saige both stopped and cocked their heads and Rylie says, "Colie has a funny bum!" So I said, "Yep, because Colie is a boy." Then Rylie tells me that Jack, her friends baby brother has a funny bum, too! Rylie calls everything "down there" a bum...so it was too cute! LOL moment! I almost thought she might say that her Daddy has a funny bum, too! But she refrained or doesn't know yet!

Well, we finally make it out to the pool. The kicking and splashing of water finally begins...but Cole, who is fearless in water, starts the flopping. He raises his arms high above his head and flops straight down into the water!! A couple times he must have inhaled at the wrong time and sat up gasping for air...but then kept on going..just loving it. He didn't have a swim diaper on so slowly, well rather quickly, the regular diaper got bigger and heavier and bigger. When he would walk around he'd look down and I'm sure he was wondering "what the heck!!" But about the time Coles diaper was holding 1/2 the water from the pool Rylie starts doing the potty dance. And I'm thinking well..hmmm, she can't get her suit off... I have 2 toddlers that I can't leave alone.... so I grab Cole ,wrap him in a towel to try to contain some of the water (which Rylie saw dripping out at one point and said "Colies peeing") , get Saige to follow me up the stairs, get Rylie on the potty. She sits there...and nothing happens. So we go back outside...few minutes later...she's doing the dance again....so I grab Cole and Saige...same thing, nothing! By this time I'm drinched and sweaty from lugging kids in and out, up and down! We did this one more time and then I was done....we came in this time for good and Rylie finally went potty!

So now you're sure I don't want my own, right?? Whatever!! Bring it on!
Above are some pics from the summer.

Too Sweet!!

When we arrived in San Diego, Chris told us about the bird nest in their backyard. The nest is nestled back in between some of her planters. The cool thing is that there were 4 eggs on Thursday and by Friday 2 birds had hatched. Then on Saturday the 3rd had hatched and then on Sunday all 4 had been hatched!! We had fun avoiding the mother and father birds when we sneaked peeks at the cute things!!

The "Littlest Girl"--Olivea!! (that's with an a at the end)

Olivea (long a) is very busy...always walking around... so, I got some pics of her adventures in the backyard!

San Diego 2007

We just returned from our annual summer trip out to San Diego to see and visit Silas' family. We had such a fabulous time! We went to Mission Beach, Sea World, Shelter Island, a Padres game (they lost) and most importantly, we were able to spend lots of time with "littlest girl" Olivea!! She is so cute! She says my name all the time "Amy, Amy, Amy. . ." She calls Silas...Silas, Sigh and Amy...guess she's still working on that one! Here are some pictures from the trip!

P.S. Shelter Island is where Barry (my father-in-law) goes on Sat. & Sun. to an Art Show to sell his paintings.

Welcome to my BLOG!

So, I have entered the new and exciting world of blogging. I suppose my true intension for doing this is that I will actually write about things that happen in my (our) life. I am not a good journal writer. I used to be. I'm not sure what changed. I am sure it has to do with how busy life has become the past few years. (Hasn't it for everyone?) Maybe it has to do with the fact that I would much rather email then write someone a handwritten note. . . or I've just become super lazy and it makes me crazy how detailed I want to be about EVERYTHING, thus it takes me hours to write about "yesterday". Well, here it goes.

So . . . welcome to my blog!
