Charles is a Teacher

Image
Today Charles was ordained to the office of a Teacher. He turned 14 on the 11th but I for some reason didn't realize that He needed to be ordained like he was when he was a Deacon. I sat down with Charles and asked him who he would like to ordain him to the office of a Teacher. After much debate  and a small amount of sadness, Charles asked Larry if he would be willing to come and ordain him. Larry was willing to accommodate Charles request. So this morning we got a late start and missed sacrament meeting sadly. After the block we met Aaron,  Shannon, Larry, Logan and Sierra outside the Bishops office.  The Bishop, Logan and Larry stood in the circle and Larry performed the ordinance of conferring the office and keys of a Teacher upon Charles. It was a short and powerful blessing. I am so grateful that we live during a time when the fullness of the gospel is apon the earth and that we have the opportunity to learn and grow and press forward toward returning to the cel...

Girls weekend!

Image
The first weekend in December Jeneil, and I drove down to Touqerville, Utah for some much needed R and R! The trip down was smooth and uneventful, no snow or bad roads. Jeneil worked so that when we arrived at our destination she wouldn't have to worry about work. We rolled into Touqerville around 9pm and as we pulled up the Thora's house, Thora, Thad, and the kids were just getting home. Great Timing! We chatted with the kids for a bit and Tali and Jordan were kind enough to give us their beds so they were sleeping on the couch and a mates in the front room. They were happy as clams to give us their room, I was grateful for that. The 3 of us laughed and talked for a bit and then headed to bed. The next day Third had to take a test  so we went to breakfast at Village Inn and then dropped her at the testing building. She had to take 2 test but said she would be no more than an hour. Jeniel and I ran to Ross in search of cotton socks. Third was Lockett split fast with her te...

Chelsea's Christmas concert

Image
Chelsea's Christmas concert was the second Tuesday in December at White Pine. I love it when her concerts are there because it is only her class and I don't have to wait to hear her sing. The concert started at 7 and was over by 7:30. they sang 4-5 songs and I recorded 2 of them for your enjoyment but for some reason I am having a hard time figuring out how to upload them from my phone. There were some sick kids that came to the concert and had to run out before they threw up. So sad! Chelsea really enjoyed the last song and made sure that I recorded it. They worked hard on the choreography. The dress that she has on is new. it is her Christmas dress( one of them anyways) and she was excited to wear it. Enjoy the show!

Christmas lights on my house!!!

Image
When Aaron and I were first married, he put lights on our first house. They were icicle lights and in the process of hanging them he almost electrocuted himself(mostly because he used a staple gun) Needless to say I haven't had lights on my house for Christmas since that year. But I convinced him to put them up this year. He had some help from Marlow, Colton, and Marnie's oldest son Tru. So they went up fairly quickly. Marnie and i made meatballs for dinner and chatted while the boys worked outside. There was only one strand that didn't get checked while they were putting them up and it took like 5 minutes to switch out, but it was worth it! They are BEAUTIFUL and every night as I turn them on I am reminded that my husband does have a kind and generous bone in his body.  I love, love, love the lights.

Halloween Fun

Image
This Halloween was a fun one. All of the kids went with fairly easy costumes. Kyah was a zebra. She made her own mane out of Zebra yarn, I didn't get a picture of it, but it was epic none the less..   Chelsea was a devil and her friend Brooke was an Angel. They went trick or treating together and had lots of fun!    Charles was a chick magnet... we pinned little chick and magnets all over him as well as the magnet that is around his neck... I think he did a great job. Don't you?!    Sierra came out and went Trick or Treating with Charles and Kyah, they all hung out as cousins. Sierra was an Anime Vampire from one of the shows that she watches.     Here is the angel/devil duo in action...    Sequoia and Dylan were The Joker and Harley Quinn for Halloween. Dylan mad a really cool vest and pants with the help of Shannon and myself . Both of their costumes turned out really good!!!   Shannon and Larry are about...

5k for pet rescue

Image
Chelsea is has decided that she wants to enter into as many 5k's and build up to a half marathon eventually. So this one was found on facebook. It supports the local pet rescue and we got to take Nala with us. So we were all getting ready To run and we had a lot of fun. Chelsea and Keelie ran the 5k and did it in 32 minutes and kyah and I walked with Nala, we walked 1.5 miles and it was a good start for all. It was a great way to start our Saturday the 24th off!

Choir concerts Galour

Image
It's that time of year again. All of the kids are in middle school and have the same choir teacher, so that also means that they have coinciding choir concerts. Chelsea's concert was on Wednesday and Charles and Kyah's concert was on Thursday. And of course they all needed black and white, which none if them had. So they all got new outfits to boot. They were pretty happy. Chelsea's concert was fairly small and low key. It lasted maybe 15 minutes and it was over. Kyah and Charles' concert was longer, about an hour, and instead of 20 students, there were 170 students. Each was special though. For Chelsea's concert Emily and Ira came out, had dinner with us and then joined us for the concert. Then we went for floats at A&W. For Kyah and Charles concert, Josh and Jenn joined us. Shannon and Larry wanted to but they weren't able too. Both concerts were good. Henry was Kyah and Charles biggest fan, calling their name and wondering if they could see him....
