Surprise!

We are expecting our little addition in July!
(Kimball says my post title could be taken the wrong way... I mean "surprise" most of our friends didn't even know we are pregnant and we are halfway along, not a "surprise baby" :D)

Springtime fun

about May (2009)

Tad didn't need much help getting up or down, that kid is so capable.

Tad

My sister's boyfriend worked for a company that had these blow-up toys and they brought them over one day so that they boys could play on them. they had SO much fun!
*warning: may contain TMI :)

So I was looking back through some past posts and having so much fun looking at pictures of my kids that I am feeling incredibly guilty for not being such a great blogger this past year. I started out with great intentions and then things got crazy and I went crazy. No joke. I got the Depo Provera birth control shot and some nights I literally felt crazy, like tearing my hair out and scratching my face. I almost walked across the street to the hospital more than once.
That on top of our already insane life. Whew. I am finally starting to feel fairly normal---a year later! So...no more of that crap for me!
But we really did have a great year. The kids were always saying the funniest things and there were a lot of shenanigans like this one:

mascara

Obviously they thought they looked pretty good.

They actually did a pretty good job here! You can't really tell, but there is mascara on his eyelashes too! :)

Snazzy

About, oh...8 months ago or something....

one of our friends was learning to make boy suits and wanted to make a few for our boys! She made 2 or 3 vests, a pair of pants, and some super cute ties. She even embroidered their names on their vests so that the nursery leaders could tell them apart.

cute little boys and their blue ties

giving Tad a little claustrophobia

lemme breathe guys!

wait, let us just fix this...

cute boys!

This is probably my favorite. I love the cute little bow ties!!!

Graduation!

On May 8th Kimball graduated from grad school at the U! We have waited for this for what seems like forever, but he is finally done! He spent 3 years in enemy territory and made it out alive...and with a degree. Yay!
I seriously don't know how he did it-- He got up at 5:30 in the morning so he could catch the early bus to Salt Lake and then got home at 6:30, worked 2 jobs, managed to do all his homework at school so that I could boss him around when he was home, did his church calling, played volleyball and did well in school and at his internships. And didn't break a sweat. And life hasn't slowed down THAT much (to my dismay). I swear he can't sit still.

Kimball really enjoyed his time at the U, even though he bleeds blue :) He made some good friends and learned a lot. Kimball and Paul, partners in crime. Always dreamin' up something crazy...

waiting for it to start.

these pics are terrible, but at least it's a memory, right?
our attempt at a family picture. Yay, Dad! At least, that's what I think they are doing, they could just be flailing their arms...

Kimball's parents have been so willing to help us during these years at school, thanks!

I had to include this picture because Tad's hair was still so red. He is pretty blonde now!

Congratulations, Kimball! We are so happy for you!

Funny kids

We have really been missing in action on this blog this spring and summer. We've had a lot going on-- Kimball's graduation, buying our first home, etc. I'll have to find my pictures and post about it soon!

I wanted to write down some of the funny things the kids have said lately before I forget them.

On Sunday, Ross and Rogan were running around playing and all of the sudden we hear Ross yell;
"Rogan, run! The Holy Ghost is going to get you!"
(Their favorite cartoon these days is Scooby-Doo, so they are all about ghosts and monsters--seems we have some explaining to do.)

Kimball was telling the story of the 3 little pigs and using Ross, Rogan and Tad in place of the 3 little pigs. He said that they had grown up and gone off to build their own houses. After the story was over, Rogan walked over to Kimball and with his chin quivering said "But Dad, I don't know how to build my own house!"

I made some zucchini bread yesterday and today Ross came up to me and said;
"Mom, can I have some bikini bread?"
Me: "you mean some zucchini bread?"
Ross: " Yes, some bikini bread."

5 years ago today...

was the happiest day of my life. Kimball and I were engaged for a very long 6 1/2 months while Kimball was in school in Hawai'i and I was here in Utah. Many of our friends got engaged after us and married before us. I never thought that our day would come, but it finally did, and I don't have words to say how wonderful it has been. We've had fun times, challenging times and 3 kids (they fall in both the previous categories) in the last 5 years and I'm excited to see what the rest of our life brings us!
