Over at All Things Crafty I am hosting an ATC swap with a slight difference.
I have asked for people to make 4 ATCs which all MUST be in the landscape position. They then had to make
one Spring
one Summer
one Autumn
one Winter

In return I will swap them all and make them into a calendar to send back out to everyone who has joined in the swap.

All Things Crafty Art Raffle September - Autumn

OMG it is almost a month since I last blogged!

Here is my piece for the All Things Crafty Art Raffle for September. Tessmatt chose the theme of "Autumn".

I have made a beermat wall hanging. I used some autumnul coloured paper for the backing and then coloured some metal with reds, browns, oranges, yellows and green and then used my spellbinders dies of leaves. I sanded back the metal and then found a poem about Autumn and printed it out. Hope the winner likes it!

I have made up my own pattern for a holder. I used DIs to colour it and a T!m flourish stamp. The ATC envelopes are made from paper from the papermania range.

I'm a bad blogger!

I can't believe its been almost a month since I last blogged anything!

My excuse is that I have been ill with one of those stomach bug things which took me well over a week to get over! And I have just come back from a wonderful holiday in Prague.

So back to blogging........

Ju has challenged us at All Things Crafty to alter or embellish a gift bag.
I have made my own gift bag and used a CB embossing folder which has been coloured with DIs and Glimmermists. I added gemstone embellishments to the circles and kept to the gold and red theme with some sticky ribbon at the bottom of the bag and added some ribbon for handles.

All Things Crafty Art Raffle - July - Seaside

This months theme has been chosen by Ju. A real toughie for me.

I decided to do a small canvas as I had a stamp of a bucket and spade and thought it was ideal for the theme. I coloured my canvas using paint dabbers and even added some sand. I used mod podge to stick the stamp down.

I'm really not too sure if the canvas has worked or not IYKWIM.

So I decided to make something else!
I have been busy making bracelets and thought I would make one in shades of blue and add some seaside themed charms - I have used an anchor, a fish, a boat, a dolphin and a starfish.

I am really pleased with the bracelet - hope the winner is too!

Alter Something Wooden!

Look at me!!!!! I don't blog anything for absolute ages and then I go and blog 4 things in one day!

Mags has challenged us over at All Things Crafty to alter something wooden.

I have used a small wooden tray from Crafty Individuals and coloured it with glimmer mists. I then put something different in every compartment. A paper rose in one, an altered bottle top in another, some TSS metal which has gone through one of my new Tim embossing folders and I have added an old key and finally a stamped inchie! I made it into a wall hanging by using the ring pull off a tin of soup!

Hope my swap partner likes it.

All Things Crafty Monthly Challenge

Ju has set us another challenge this month over at All Things Crafty. She has challenged us to use fabric in our piece. This was a real challenge for me!
My fabric comes from a pair of jeans. I have die cut them with my tattered florals die and used them as flower embellishments on my balsa wood ATC.

This is also an entry for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge where the theme this week is to include a quote.

Crafting Corner Variety Swap - June

This months variety swap theme is "moving parts". I had to really scratch my head to come up with an idea for this one!

I have stamped my image onto thin card twice and then stuck it to my balsa wood with mod podge. Once it was dry I coloured it with sharpies. I then carefully cut the main body and then the trickier arms, legs and head.

I then used brads to attach the arms and legs and stuck the head on with 3D foam.

I then stuck the whole thing onto mountboard which I had lightly coloured with distress inks and added eyelets to make it into a wall hanging. Hope my swap partner likes it!

Sunday Stampers - The Letter

Oh my goodness its been such a long time since I blogged anything and here I am on the last minute with my entry for this weeks Sunday Stampers challenge which is "Letters". Believe it or not but I did make this last Sunday but never got around to scanning or blogging.

This is a balsa wood ATC and it is stamped and then coloured using distress inks.

This is my take on it. I used acrylic dabbers for the background and then stamped my sentiment on some tissue paper and used mod podge to stick it to the canvas. Quirky Crafts Challenge - Trains, Planes and Automobiles

The challenge on Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog is "Trains,Planes and Automobiles".

I have made a card using the only stamp I have in my stash that would fit in with this challenge!

I have used a page from an old atlas as my backing paper and then stamped onto cream card the car and the messages. The car and the enjoy the journey are T!m stamps and the Happy Birthday is one from Butterfly Kisses.

Scraps!!!

There was a challenge this week over at Quirky Crafts Forum for you to use your scraps on a card.

Thats exactly what I have done. The backing paper is a piece of scrap from my pile and the flower petals are scraps of paper too. The flower petals are the new T!m sizzix die tattered flowers. The flower stem is made by using another of T!ms new dies the Elegant Flourishes and this paper has been in my stash for such a long time. I was dabbling with Alcohol Inks a while ago. The button is a spare one from a blouse and the ribbon was from an old card.

Dog Tag!!!

My son is off out tonight for a friends birthday. They are all dressing up with the theme of "Army".

This is how it started out - originally it came from build a bear workshop.

This is the finished results using my TSS metal and my trusted sharpies to age the metal.

Crafting Corner Variety Swap - Wood

The theme for this months variety swap is "Wood".

I have done some wood burning for my project. I stamped an image onto some balsa wood and then got my wood burny tool out and burned along the lines. I then added colour with my pro markers. I put it into a frame and there was a slight gap at either side so I cut some kebab sticks and placed them in the frame.

Inspired by Craft Stamper Mag - Tuesday Taggers - Bugs!

I was inspired by the grungepaper piece made by Linda Elbourne in May's Craft Stamper mag.

I have had a go at my own. I used broken china and faded jeans. Dried marigold and spiced marmalade.Shabby shutters and peeled paint distress inks for the background colours.
Worn lipstick and fired brick for the butterfly and dusty concord for the flower.
Metal bug embellies added and chipboard letters spelling the word "fly".

This also works in perfectly with Tuesday Taggers challenge this week - the theme is insects. They have a fab prize this week sponsored by The Craft Barn

Sunday Stampers - Birds

The theme this week at Sunday Stampers is Birds.

I have done a jigsaw piece. Coloured with Tea dye and Spiced marigold distress inks and stamped with black staz-on (stamps are Tim Holtz)

I added the letters f,l,y and added a bit of glitter glue to them. I thought it needed a little something else so I added a canvas rose which was coloured with distress inks in spiced marigold and fired brick.
Gold pen added to the edges.

Allsorts Challenge Blog - Recycle or alter something

This weeks challenge over at Allsorts is to alter or recycle something.

We have just finished with a pringles tube so I had a go at altering it.

First I cut it down to about half its size and then cut out strips of TSS metal. I coloured the metal with sharpies and then used six different CB embossing folders and ran the metal through the bug. I then lightly sanded down the pieces and stuck them to the tube. I found some letters to spell out the word "Bitz" and stuck them onto one of the panels.

Birthday Cards

I have had to get my thinking cap on to come up with a card for my sons birthday this Wednesday. He will be 22 and I hadn't got a clue as to what to make for him. I have come up with two ideas.
First is a tattoo and second is a car.

Yep I'm pretty safe with the car idea. The tattoo card comes from the fact that he is wanting another tattoo and he is looking at some kind of skull or snake.

I think I will let his dad decide even though I have a pretty good idea as to which he will choose.

Unfortunately they haven't scanned too well - the car is decoupaged and there is some mirri card too.
