Baby B: 2 months

Bennett Gray is 2 months old!

Height: 23.75, 78%
Weight: 14.8 lbs, 96%
HC: 40cm, 47%

He's a pretty happy baby and has started cooing at us and smiling big a lot. He's waking up around 2am and 5 am to eat during the night, I'm nursing so I think that's why he's still waking so much. He's a chunk and could eat all day long! He usually nurses and goes back to sleep though so I can't complain too much.

I think he has the best facial expressions. Love those sweet cheeks!

He's very into watching Parker and I'm sure he'll be trying to keep up with him in no time. He likes to sit up and see the action taking place around him. We sat him in the bumbo last week for the first time for a few seconds and he loved it. (He was supervised and not on a raised surface, so no comments on the bumbo recall needed.)

Bennett is growing so quickly already, wearing most 6 month clothing and even some 9 month things. He's healthy and happy but still having some trouble passing his hearing test. Our Dr. and the audiologists think it's due to fluid behind his ears and he actually had his first ear infection last week at his 2 month check up and wasn't able to get any shots at that time. Hopefully, it will all clear up soon,we are just praying for it to resolve on it's on soon. I feel like he can hear, trust me when big brother is being wild, Bennett wakes up.

I'm so thankful for this baby boy, he's been such a blessing to our family already.

First day of school

Parker had his first day of school today!
Well kinda, he went to a little summer program at our church where they did a lot of playing, crafts and fun summer activities but this was his official first day.

To say he loved it would be an understatement. He walked in like such a big boy, waving at everyone he passed like he was running for President or something.  It does help that this is where we go to church and his preschool classroom is also his sunday school classroom that he is very used to.

His teacher walked him to my car when I went through the carpool line and said he had a great day and went "pee pee in the potty" so no accidents at school. She went to put him in the car and he would not budge he said no that he didn't want to go home, I wanted to cry. I told the director and his teacher standing there that he obviously really enjoyed his day. They said he loved it and did really well. They said to count it as a blessing that he loves it so well and really enjoys going so much that he's not ready to leave when it's time. That truly shows me that these amazing preschool teachers are doing a wonderful job!

Here's a teacher gift I made last minute last night. I love a good simple craft.

I can't wait to see how this little guy with such a big personality grows during this next school year. We were so worried about his speech and talking and he has just blossomed over the last several months, it's awesome to hear him and sometimes I'm wondering why I was worried about him talking in the first place. He cracks us up all of the time with the things he says and does, he's too smart for his own good.

Of course, he's my child, he came home and put on his favorite comfy shirt which he would wear every single day if I would let him and a pair of gym shorts. I love putting on my comfy clothes as soon as we get home from somewhere.

This was from June when he went to summer Mothers Day Out, I feel like he has already changed so much since then. We sure do love this little guy!

Baby B: 1 month

I will say this every month so here it goes..this month flew by.
 No, seriously it did.
I've tried to not be in a haze and really live in the moment and take it all in but the moments just don't last long enough.

Bennett is the sweetest baby, ever. He is such a good baby and really only gets fussy if he's hungry and ready to eat. Nursing has been much easier this time around and even though I feel like it's all I do 24/7, it has been worth it so far. He eats every 2-3 hours.

He is not a fan of being swaddled very tight, he likes to lay with his hands above his head and snooze. He sleeps best when we are on the go, guess that's the joy of being the second born, right? He has the best facial expressions already, I'm in love with this set of dimples.

At 2 weeks old he weighed 8.9lbs at his Dr. visit and at a month old we weighed him at home and he was around 10lbs. He has already changed so much in the first month. I'm in love with his baby blue eyes, I just think they'll end up changing colors.
Happy 1 month Bennett!

Sweet Baby Bennett

We had Bennett's newborn session when he was 13 days old, here are just a few (okay, maybe a lot) of my favorites from StudioDphotography.

This is the birth announcement we sent out to our family and friends.

And the back of the announcement had these 3 pictures of my boys.

I love this picture, it's real life with a 2.5 year old and a newborn.

Bennett's Birth Story

July 16th we headed to the hospital to have our Bennett Gray!

We had scheduled an induction if Bennett had not arrived at this point. My Dr. did not want me to wait much longer because of my past pregnancy history with my blood pressure. My bp was great during this pregnancy but we didn't want to take the chance of it starting to sky rocket, I must say it was also super nice to have a plan and everything ready to go.

One last picture of Bennett in my belly!

My sweet husband got me a little push present he gave me that morning and added to my sunshine necklace with Bennett's name. I love these!

I also surprised him with a little something, collar stays for his dress shirts. These from his boys of course.

We got to the hospital at 6pm, right on time and they had no idea we were supposed to be there. Long story short, it was a scheduling mistake, I knew I was supposed to be there and I was not leaving until I had a baby!

I was at 3cm and 70% when I got there so I prayed things would progress smoothly.  I got cervadil at 9:30pm that night, begged for my epidural around 2:30am and by 6:30am my water had broken. It all progressed so quickly from that point. I went from a 4 to a 10 in about 45 minutes. Bennett was ready to arrive and very fast, I only had to push for 14 minutes and he was born at 9:46am. I felt a lot more than my body was prepared for, when the nurse realized I was at 10cm, I could move my legs quite a bit but there was not enough time to get more medicine in my epidural iv. I had the shakes uncontrollably after Bennett was born, it was quite the experience. I know it was not natural child birth but it was pretty close for my low pain tolerance.

The best feeling in the world is seeing the miracle of life for the first time.
Lots of happy tears were shed.

I love my Dr. for so many reasons, her prayers and happy personality are amazing.

Proud Papa with his baby B

My sister dropped Parker off at our church summer program and made it just in time to see Bennett born.

I'm very thankful my Mom was there to see her second grandson born!

It was a long night for us, you would think Graysen had just had a baby or something! haha!
He seriously was so amazing to help me get through labor.

Our family of 4!

I love this series of pictures, Parker could not wait to get his hands on his baby brother!

I love these two miracles more than anything.

Boys Room Redo

Bennett's nursery is finally finished!

We used the same furniture we had in Parker's nursery and the same bedding because we paid a pretty little penny for it and it was still in perfect condition. I added a few little touches here and there to make it Bennett's room. His monogram is above his crib and let me tell ya, that was not an easy thing to stick to the wall but my wonderful hubby got the job done!

Bennett has more than enough clothes to wear when he arrives. I found the two prints I framed below on etsy. Love some etsy!

Parker's big boy room even has a few new additions like Mr. Moose and he has a little kid friendly bear skin rug but I forgot to take a picture of it. He is still loving his big boy bed!
