I haven't posted for such a long time. November has been a busy month, but nothing too exciting has been going on in our family. We have all been looking forward to Thanksgiving this month, though, and we have had a great weekend. It was nice to get out of school on Tuesday and not have to worry about it again until tomorrow. Josie had a fun Thanksgiving Day feast in her class on Tuesday and tried pumpkin pie for the first time. She is such a picky eater I didn't think that she would eat anything that they served her, but she came away from the feast loving pumpkin pie. Then on Wednesday we had a nice relaxing day at home and then I took Brenden, Josie and Ryan to see "Madagacar 2". It was a fun movie and the kids really enjoyed it alot. Then on Thanksgiving day we had a nice dinner at Steve's mom's house. The kids love to get together with all of their cousins and aunts and uncles. We all wrote down things that we are grateful for on a feather and put them all together to make a turkey out of a pumpkin. That was a fun thing to do to remind us of why we really celebrate Thanksgiving. The kids gave some great answers. Josie said she was grateful for the Wii. Brenden said he is grateful for technology because "google" helps him alot. The most surprising list was from Taylor. He filled out 2 feathers and listed all of the things he is grateful for. He listed things like the sun, a couch, a tv, his skateboard, baseball, basketball, football, then he also listed things like his family, Joseph Smith, the scriptures, church. I was so proud of some of the things he was grateful for. Being a 12 year old, he is not always vocal about things he is grateful for, so I was glad that he listed some of those things. Kate said that she was grateful for her family.
After dinner we all looked at the Black Friday ads to see what stores we would be hitting. I love Black Friday and really enjoy going shopping and getting a great start on my Christmas shopping.
Then we went to my mom's house. Allyson and Kelli and their families were there. We had all of the kids and us girls make ornaments to put on my dad's Christmas tree that we have for him at the cemetery. The kids really liked doing this and it helped us remember "Grandpa Gary" on Thanksgiving. I am so grateful that he is my dad and that I know that I can see him again someday.
On Friday morning I got up early and went shopping with Sharla, Barbara and Jessi. It was pretty exciting and a little crazy at Target at 6 am, but we got most of the things that we wanted. We went to Old Navy, the mall and Sam's Club and found lots of good deals. After lots of fun and spending LOTS of money, I came home around 3 pm. Black Friday was definitely a success for me.
Steve and I were talking about how we really do love Thanksgiving weekend. It is so great that it is always on Thursday and it's like we have 2 Saturdays that week. We really had a great weekend and got alot accomplished. It was also so nice to spend so much time with our family. We get so busy in our lives that sometimes we don't do as much as we should with our family.
I didn't take one picture this weekend. I have totally slacked off on my picture taking. I'm sure I will make up for it this next month with all of the Christmas parties and activities we have coming up.
We, as a family, have so many things to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. We are healthy and happy and are having so much fun together. We hope that everyone else had a great Thanksgiving as well.
As we look forward to this Christmas season, I hope that we can all remember the true meaning of Christmas and focus more on the Savior and all that He has done for us, and less on the presents and material things that we do during Christmastime.

Trick or Treating Fun!
It is a tradition each Halloween for our kids to go to Steve's work and go trick or treating throughout his office. It is fun for us to see all of Steve's co-workers (many of them dress up in really fun costumes) and the kids get TONS of candy.
After we got back from APlus, we went to see my Grandma at the Beehive home. We met Allyson and Kelli and my mom there to show my Grandma the kids' costumes. Here is a cute picture of all of the kids. Ben was there in a cute monkey costume, but he just didn't want to get his picture taken. Savannah was the cutest witch ever and Hunter was a cool Ninja. Ryan was Aniken (sp?) Skywalker. Way cool! The kids were excited to see each other and Grandma.
After we went to Grandma's we came back to our house and had pizza with the Andersons and my mom. Sharla's kids looked so cute, too. McKenna was an awesome clown, Noah was Buzz Lightyear and Lilly was the cutest flower ever!! As you can see, Taylor and Kayleigh are missing from this picture. They both decided that they are too old to hang out with the family on Halloween so they went out with their friends.
Here is a picture of my kids with Grandma-Great. They were so happy to see her and show her their costumes. I know that she was way excited to see them, too.
The funnest part of Halloween this year was actually going trick or treating. We are usually running around to see family and never actually get the chance to trick or treat. Me, Sharla, Grandma Anderson and Grandma Linda took the kids around our neighborhood and we honestly couldn't have had more fun. The weather was PERFECT and the kids had a blast! I haven't really enjoyed Halloween much in the past, but this year it was SO fun. I think my kids will remember it for a long time.

We went to a house in our neighborhood which actually looked like there wasn't anyone home. So we were all waiting there and out jumped Freddy Krueger. It scared all of the kids pretty bad, but Josie was absolutely terrified. I think her trick or treating was kind of ruined after that. It was so funny. We were all so shocked. Then we went to a few more houses and Josie was still being scared. We went to another neighbor's house and I said, "Oh, I'm sure there won't be anyone scary at this house." So I'm sure you can guess what happened next. A man jumped out again in a scary costume and scared the kids again. It was so funny. The adults were laughing so hard and he felt so bad that he had scared her, but it was great. She didn't do too much trick or treating after that, but I think she will definitely never forget this Halloween.
I can't believe I am saying this, but I will actually look forward to Halloween next year. Hopefully the weather will be just like it was this year. It was great!

Happy Halloween!!
This year for Halloween we had some very fun and interesting costumes at our house. Taylor and a few of his friends decided, quite some time ago, to dress up as cheerleaders. So we pulled out my old box of cheer uniforms and Taylor and one of his friends picked the ones that they wanted to wear. He definitely didn't look enough like a cheerleader with his normal hair, so we bought a wig and added some makeup. Although it was a pretty lame wig, he kind of looked like a girl, until you looked at him too close. Even with all of those girly things, he couldn't hide that he is a boy. He and his friends had lots of fun though.
Brenden looked and looked for a fun costume for him and finally ended up deciding to be a ghost. He wasn't a scary ghost, just a fun ghost. He had a mask, which he couldn't wear to school, so we painted his face white. It turned out pretty well.
After we bought Kate's pirate costume, Josie decided that she wanted to be a pirate, too. McKenna was a pirate a few years ago so we borrowed their costume and she turned into a very cute pirate. This picture was taken at the school during the costume parade.

Here is Taylor in the parade as well.
Since I was the one taking the pictures you cannot see that I actually dressed up for Halloween. Those of you who know me know that I really do not like Halloween very well and NEVER dress up. This year, since I am working at the school and helped in Brenden's class party, I decided to dress up. I borrowed some stuff from my great neighbor, Mindi, and became a witch for the day (some would say that isn't too much of a stretch for me, haha). I bought a long black wig, which drove me nuts the entire day, and put together a witch costume. It was pretty fun and I am glad that I did it. Maybe I will even do it again next year. I regret now that I didn't get a picture of myself in the costume.
Here is Taylor in the parade as well.
Side note: I do not know what is up with my camera. I took a ton of pictures and most of them didn't turn out. It is making me so mad, because the pictures I took were pretty cute. I need to figure out what the heck is wrong with the dumb thing!
Kate's Preschool Halloween Parade
On Thursday Kate got to have a fun Halloween party at school. She has been sick this week with the croup and I was worried that she wouldn't be able to go. She has been so excited to wear her cute pirate costume. We decided that she was feeling well enough that she could go. This is her right before she went to school. I love this costume. It looks so cute on her and it was way cheap! Now, that's a perfect costume.

When she got to school they did some fun Halloween activities and then they had a costume parade around the block. We stopped them in the middle of the parade to take this cute picture. Kate held Miss Courtney's hand for the entire parade. She loves her teacher!
