Halloween 2009

As usual, Halloween turned into Halloweek for us again this year. It was a fun week full of lots of parties and dressing up. Today was finally Halloween and the kids could not wait to go trick or treating. We were just hoping that the weather would be good and that we wouldn't freeze to death. It turned out to be a beautiful day and we all had a great day.

First, we went and saw my Grandma Douglas. She always loves to see the kids in their costumes. Here she is with Tinkerbell, Dorothy and a zombie baseball player.

Next, we went to Grandma Linda's house. Here are all of the kids in their costumes. Hunter and Ryan were both awesome Harry Potters, Ben was a cool Mario, and Savannah was a beautiful Snow White. She played the part perfectly. We then went to Kelli's trunk or treat and then to my ward's trunk or treat. The kids got so much candy. They had so much fun being together.
I wanted to get picture of Dorothy from head to toe so we could see her ruby red shoes. She loved being Dorothy and it turned out really cute.

Then, we went to our house and Steve's family came up to go trick or treating with us. Sharla and her kids, Dustin, Grandpa & Grandma Anderson, and Jessi & Jared came to celebrate Halloween with us.
Here are all of these kids in their costumes. Noah was an awesome Jack Sparrow, McKenna was a cool witch and Lilly was a cute unicorn. The weather held up nicely and we had a great time trick or treating. We encountered a few scary houses on our way, but nobody got too scared and it was a lot of fun.

All in all, it turned out to be a great Halloweek. The kids liked their costumes, they had fun with their cousins, the weather was great and we got TONS of candy. I am exhausted from all of the festivities, but it was definitely a great day (well, week)!!!!
As you can tell, Taylor is missing from all of the pictures. He didn't dress up this year and went to a party at his friend's house. It's kind of sad that he is too old to hang out with us anymore, but he had a great night and lots of fun. Halloween was definitely a success for us this year. Now we can look forward to Thanksgiving and all of the fun activities that will bring to our family. We hope that everyone had a Happy Halloween!!!!

Kate's Halloween Party

Kate had so much fun at her preschool Halloween party. I got to help at the party and it was so fun. The kids were so cute. Here they are in the costumes. Kate is the green Tinkerbell. She was so excited for Halloween.

They walked around the block and had a Halloween parade. It was really cold, but the kids really loved it. They all looked so cute.

Brenden earns his Bear!

At pack night last week, Brenden earned his Bear badge. He has had so much fun in the Bear Den. His leaders are so great and it has been such a good experience for him. He loves scouts and can't wait to be a Webelo on his birthday. Here he is trying to pin the pin on me. I have gotten smart and now have a necklace that the boys can pin their pins on. Much better. Now I definitely won't get poked.

This picture isn't very good, but they told him to give me a hug after he pinned his pin on my necklace. It was really cute. Way to go, Brenden. He is such a great kid and we are so proud of him!!

Gardiner Village

During Fall Break a few weeks ago, Sharla and I took the kids up to Gardiner Village to see the witches. It was really crowded but we had a fun time.

Kate and Josie's favorite part was riding the ponies. They were so cute.

Fun fall pictures

A few weeks ago, we went with my mom up to her friends' house up in Covered Bridge Canyon. We hiked up behind their house and the view was absolutely amazing. Brenden, Josie and I had so much fun. It was so beautiful. Here are a few of the pictures that we took:

Taylor advanced to a Star!

I am very slow to post these pictures, but a few months ago, Taylor's scouts had a court of honor where Taylor advanced to a Star. It has been a lot of work for him (and ME), but we did it. He is now working towards his Life, and then it will be on to the Eagle. WOW!! Scouts is so much work and quite difficult to keep up on, but I know that it is worth it and it is really teaching Taylor some great things. He earned 5 merit badges while at scout camp this year. He worked so hard and got so much accomplished. Steve and I are so proud of him!!!

Way to go, Taylor!!

Junior Drill

Kate and Josie had so much fun doing junior drill with the new high school drill team. They both learned a new dance and performed it at a jv football game. It was alot of fun. Here is Josie posing at the end of her dance. She is the second from the right.

Here is Kate at the end of her dance. They were being beasts, with their hands up. It was really cute. Kate is the 4th one from the right. This was her first time doing it and she absolutely loved it. She thought she was so big.

The girls had a great week and the drill team girls did a fantastic job.

Kate's 1st day of Preschool

This was Kate's first day of school this year. She was so excited. She picked out her entire outfit, told me EXACTLY how to do her hair and was ready like at 8:00 am and school didn't start until 9:30. This girls love school. She is so ready to be in kindergarten next year. She was just showing me her sight words from school and can read almost all of them. Her preschool teachers are sure amazing, because I am sure I didn't teach her to read. She is a great student and loves every minute of it.

Here she is with her BFF and neighbor, Brighten. These two girls are so cute. They love to be together. They are in school and dancing together. Kate absolutely loves to play with Brighten. She is such a great friend.

24th of July Parade

This is our primary float that ended up winning 3rd place in the children's parade so we got to be in the big parade on the 24th. We had a great turnout and the weather was perfect, so we had a great time. After all the work that was put into the float, it was nice to be able to use it again. The kids were so excited to see all of those people and, man, there were a lot of people watching the parade. Alot different from the children's parade where everyone is in the parade and nobody is really watching it.

Here I am with most of my primary presidency. Tami, Christine, me and Cheralyn. Britney is missing from the picture and we missed her on the day of the parade. These ladies sure are amazing and it is so fun to serve with them in primary. They are so talented and creative. They help me a ton and I appreciate them so much.
