Catching Up

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Lately it seems that I am like a cat chasing her tail...running around and around in circles trying to accomplish things. Some days, I get much accomplished, and others, not so much. LOTS has been going on around here, and some of it I want to share with you, but I haven't had much time. Hopefully I will get a chance to share some great stories with you sometime soon. Things like my children catching their very first fish, and a road trip to visit friends, and us singing on stage at the Rhyman (the original Grand 'Ol Opry!), as well as pictures of Halloween fun, costumes, and funny quotes from my kids. There is so.much.to.share!

For now, I will leave you with this...

This morning I took the kids for donuts and let Nathaniel sleep in a little. Levi asked me a question from the back seat, and I gave him my answer. He replies, "Yes Mommy, you are right!" in a very excited and somewhat surprised tone. I jokingly said, "Of course, I am always right." I'm so funny :) Then Natalie says to Levi, "Mommy is always right...even when she's wrong, she's right!" I could not believe what I was hearing...my six year old is hilarious! You just never know what they are going to say. When we got home I was telling Nathaniel the story, and he quickly told me that he had not taught her this. I wonder where she heard it?

Late

Monday, October 19, 2009

I know I am a few days late, but I still wanted to mention that October 15 was National Day of Miscarriage and Infant loss. We were out of town which is why I didn't blog about it on that day, but we did light a candle that night...a candle to honor all families who have lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death.

As another blogger, Angie, said so well, it's not really about a 'day'. We miss our children every.single.day. As mothers, we long to know that the lives of our children matter, and that they are honored and remembered. Every mother wants her child to be acknowledged, wants their child to be called by name.

So I remember on October 15, and every day before, and every day after...forever...

Not a Day

Saturday, October 10, 2009

Not a day goes by that I don't miss my son...my Carson Graham. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him, that I don't long to hold him, that I don't ache for him to be here with me, for someone to speak his name and acknowledge him. Not a day goes by that Natalie doesn't speak of him, and not a day goes by that Levi doesn't talk about his "big brudder."

Not a single day...

My eyes

Saturday, October 03, 2009

Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.

"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what
is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
--- 2 Corinthians 4:18

Lord, fix my eyes. Amen.
