Everything Under the Son
Because JESUS is my everything

Yesterday was my sweet Hope's birthday...my baby up in Heaven.
She's six...six years old in Heaven.
Even after six years, it is still hard. I'm still sad, and I even still shed tears for her. I still wish she were here with me, and I still long to hold her in my arms. I'll never be 'over it'. I also still know that even though she isn't here, that God is still God. He still loves me, even though He didn't answer my prayer the way I wanted Him to. He is still my Heavenly Father, and He is still the King, sitting on His throne.
But I still miss her...

I got a funny in my email inbox today from a very dear friend. It read:
I love it!
The kids and I have been working on our annual Thanksgiving Countdown Turkeys. This year we are continuing to write things we are thankful for on each feather, but the turkeys look a little different. Hopefully I will post some pictures soon!
The gratitude challenge from me to you is this: find a few minutes to sit with your family and make a list of the things you are thankful for. Involve the kids...maybe even have them write or illustrate the things they are thankful for. Giving thanks should be a top priority for us, at Thanksgiving, and every other day of the year also! It isn't a day, it is a lifestyle, because
"I love Thanksgiving! It's the one day that big thighs are a good thing!"
I love it!

A Weekend of Hats
Monday, November 01, 2010
Whew! What a wild, wonderful, and blessed weekend we have had. My sister's wedding was beautiful...hopefully it was everything she dreamed it would be! I was thinking last night, as I was trying to relax and put off the huge task of unpacking and laundry, that I wore many "hats" this weekend. I decided for fun, I would try to list some of them here...so here goes:
Packer Hat - the official packer for the trip...clothes, shoes, hair stuff, wedding gear, and on the list could go!
Wife Hat - I am wife to the most amazing hubby EVER!
Mommy Hat - mother of one beautiful flower girl and one handsome ring bearer
Attendant Hat - I was the Matron of Honor
Wedding Singer Hat - I was the wedding singer, singing as my beautiful sister walked down to her groom
Daughter Hat - trying to be a good daughter to the best parents!
Sister Hat - being a loving and fun sister to my best Sis!
Reception Co-Coordinator Hat - I helped my mom set up the wedding/reception site. We had 1 hour!!
Chauffeur - I did LOTS of driving in the last 3 days!
Nurse Hat - I accompanied someone to the ER in the wee hours of the morning...everything checked out fine and all is well! :)
Teacher Hat - Always teaching and training my kids through life
Janitor Hat - Where there is fun, there is often a mess. I helped clean up lots of those this weekend! Fun!
Shopper Hat - Shopping for last minute wedding needs...clear deoderant, baby wipes, hair pins...
Beautician Hat - Rolling my sweet girl's har in lots of sponge rollers...but oh how cute she was!
Photographer Assistant Hat - Nathaniel was one of the photographers at the wedding, and I helped him out some
Now I am back home, and am exchanging some of those hats for others...like my laundry hat, and my maid hat, as well as my teacher hat and my chef hat!
It was a fabulous weekend, full of fun and food, family and friends, and lots of love and fellowship. I will cherish the memories always, and wish Kellye and Jonathan a life full of love and blessings!
What a blessed life I live!
