a little about me lately

I cry when an ambulance drives by with its sirens on.
I cry when I listen to the radio.
I even cried during Sunday School.

I ate 1 bowl of cereal, one banana, one fruit and yogurt smoothy, one bowl of minestrone soup, one egg salad sandwich all before 2:00 pm yesterday.  (And then I still had my late afternoon snack, dinner #1 and #2, and my late night snack.)

I'm waking up for potty runs during the night.
I'm not able to button ANY of my shorts or pants.
Even bra's are too tight...hee hee.
I swallow a handful of pills of all colors and sizes every night.

Cal is 100% positive it is a sister.
I spend most of my time trying to get used to the thought of 3 BOYS.
Just in case.
The 16 week ultrasound yesterday had nothing to say either way.
4 more weeks of waiting...

Smoot's in Texas!

We had so much fun hosting Doug's grandparents, parents, and twin brother & his wife.
We celebrated Grandma's birthday, had a great train ride and tour of the medical center, and a yummy lunch in between the many sewing projects that always happen when Mom Lewis comes to town!
Then the BEST part of the whole weekend... we left the kids behind (entrusted to my wonderful and amazing friends I love!) and met up with Doug's sister and her husband in Austin for 2 days.  We thoroughly enjoyed the Blue Bell factory...and I guess the BYU game was pretty fun too. :)
The next day was 9/11 and we lucked out by visiting the State Capital and getting to enjoy the neatest bagpipe tribute to the local policemen.  Beautiful!
Of course we had to hit up the top rated Zagat restaurants and see (or more like hear) the famous bat cave.  It was so fun to spent time as couples and as adults.  To be ME for a couple days...not the mother part of me.  Sometimes I don't have time or energy left at the end of the day to remember that I actually like the Douger.  He really is a really fun guy.
We were lucky to get an extra day with Ben and Paige.  We headed down to Galveston for the afternoon for a beautiful day! Ben tried hard to win Rhett over and make him believe he was Daddy.  :)

Sweet Baby Remy

One of my ultimate favorite parts of home birth is this.
You have all the time to drink the baby in.
And drink and drink.
Because they won't be a newborn for more than this tiny sliver of eternity.

Grammie, Me, Aunt Aimee, The Proud Daddy
My sister Emily, was super nice and waited very patiently for me to fly to Arizona, just so I could be there for the birth! And I am really grateful that she did.  I love birth.  It is the best grand finale to those long 9 months.  Even being behind 3 cameras, it was still a humbling and moving experience for me. It never gets old to witness one of life's sweetest miracles.

The happy siblings!

A darling pic my sister in law took of Remy Annabelle!
We ALL had a really hard time keeping our hands off her...little boys included. :)
