As far as his personality goes, he is into everything right now. He is reaching for anything that is in front of him, he is cooing, laughing, and really interacting with the world. He can sit in his exersaucer (my new babysitter) for a solid 20 mintues and entertain himself which is wonderful for me. He also likes to watch cartoons which is scary, but they catch his attention immediatley. He was actually watching Sports Center this morning in bed with his dad under the covers and it was pretty cute!
Sleeping is another whole issue. We were doing really good for a while there and Henry was sleeping from 11:00-5:00....well we got too excited and then things started going downhill. For about 3-4 weeks he was waking up every 1-3 hours after being fed. Now, we were out of town a lot and that could have been one of the reasons, but he did it at home too, so it may have been a really long growth spurt! Since he was not sleeping, I, of course, called the doctor and she put him on rice cereal. We were so excited because we thought Henry would start sleeping through the night immediately. Well, because we are new parents, we did not know that it takes a baby a while to learn how to eat from a spoon. We started the rice cereal 2 weeks ago, and he is still having a little trouble getting it down and not all over his face. I will try to video a feeding so you can see how funny it is. He has done a little better with sleeping....5-6 hours at a time, but has not been taking good naps during the day.
Needless to say, the doctor told us to continue rice cereal and when he figures out what to do we can start doing rice cereal in the morning then stage 1 baby food....starting with the yellow foods first such as bananas, squash and anything else that is yellow. Then we go to orange, then green. I have no idea why, but that is the order. We will work on this for the next 2 months and report back to the doctor at 6 months. He also told us we could give Henry up to 4 ounces of water now and I have already given him some to get rid of the hiccups and it worked like a charm!
Other than that, there is no other news to report. We love how Henry has started communicating more and laughing at us. He is growing so fast and before we know it he will be one! I am going to try and post some videos of him at the beach and also one of him putting his passy in his mouth. I will update later with more pictures.
Here is Henry "playing" in the waves!
Henry's latest accomplishment. He can put the passy in, but does not know to let it go yet. That is the next step!
