ONE YEAR OLD!!!

Dear Henry,
As everyone always says, time flies when you are having fun!  Last year at this time we welcomed you into the world at 1:57 pm.  You have changed our lives and we could not be happier!  Children are such blessings and you has definitely filled our lives with lots of love and laughs!    I have so much to tell you about your first year of life, and so here goes:
1.  You moved from the time you were born and have not stopped moving....even at night you toss and turn all night.
2. Your favorite book is Pat the Bunny.
3. Your favorite tv show is.....Yo Gabba Gabba.
4.  Your favorite food is cheese in any form.....sandwich, alone, macaroni, on veggies, any way it comes.
5.  You love to play outside and when you were younger you loved sitting outside, hence our outside addition.
6.  You are starting to make babbling sounds, but no identified words at this point except for a grunt representing a dog's bark.
7.  Unfortunately you have had constant health issues since November and have had about 12 ear infections, wheezing in your lungs, tubes put in your ears, the stomach bug (which you passed to lots of people), and somehow I could manage a laugh every once in a while.
8.  You did not sleep through the night until you were 8 months old, but since then you have started walking and you wear yourself out on a daily basis.
9.  You are extremely smart and advanced in your walking, fine motor skills.  I am so impressed with your pinchers!
10.  At this point you seem to not favor either hand, but instead go back and forth when throwing a ball, eating, holding the golf club....etc.
11.  You are definitely the dancer in the family....you love to dance to: Miley Cyrus, Owl City, Peter Tosh and The Saltines.
12.  You love to play in water, especially the dog bowl and the toilet....so we keep all of the bathroom doors closed to keep you out.
13.  You love to face forward in your carseat and I love it too!
14.  Since you were born you have had breat milk, Neocate, Nutramigen AA, regular Nutramigen, Prosobee Lipil (Soy), and Gentle Ease formulas.  We tried you on regular milk last week and it was a disaster!
15.  You love your grandparents sooooo much and we are so thankful to have them, as I know you are!
16.  In your first year of life you have traveled to North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado (inutero), and here.
17.  You love to throw your food off your tray when you are finshed for the dogs to eat and you LOVE when Sperry licks your hands clean!
18.  Out of our 2 dogs, Sperry is your favorite!  Lately you have been trying to ride on him when he is lying down, its hilarious!
19.  You love driving the car and have figured out where to put the keys.
20.  You love grabbing fan cords and loves watching the fan.
21.  You LOVE sitting in daddy's lap listening to itunes while looking at pictures of yourself.
22.  You have started using the dining room table as your fort and like to take your toys under it.
23.  YOU LOVE TAKING A BATH!!!!
24.  You have recently loved to climb up on anything your little legs will get you on.
25.  You love to climb up and down the stairs, and also love to close the gate at the top of the stairs.
26.  You just figured out how to turn on the loud fan in your room so you use both hands and flip the switch over and over again.
27.  You are doing breathing treatments right now, which you usually are not too excited about, but tonight I finished your treatment, put the mask down and you hopped down from my lap, picked up the mask, put it on and wanted to sit back in my lap.  Your dad and I laughed and laughed....you needed your Albuterol fix!
28.  You are still taking 2 naps a day....for about 2 hours each, you wear yourself out!
29.  You love to dance not only on the ground, but also in people's arms while they dance.
30.  You have made a wonderful addition to our family and we thank the Lord everyday for bringing you to us!
We love you Henry!
Love,
Mom and Dad

There is a first for everything!

Well, it seems that the last few weeks we have had a lot of firsts. I will start with the first of the firsts:

1. We finally turned Henry's car seat around....I know, he is not 1 yet, but what is 2 weeks in the grand scheme of things??? It is awesome to be able to see his face, talk to him, give him crackers, water, a pacifier, you get the picture. Another thing that has helped our car rides is the car tv Henry got for Christmas. Wow, what a difference that makes. If I want him to stay awake, I play Yo Gabba Gabba. He will not fall asleep because he loves to watch it!!! I try not to turn in on everywhere we go, but I will on occasion!

2. Henry went to the Emergency Room... Henry's ER story: Thursday night I was folding laundry in the living room, talking to Beau, and watching Henry run around, pull the clothes down and play with Beau. At one point he tripped and went straight into the corner of our coffee table. I actually bought pads for the corners and put them on, but then we never went in there, so I took them off...... So, the next thing I know Henry is screaming, bleeding everywhere and has a hole in his forhead. It was awful!!! We did not know what to do at first, but then the parents kicked in and we put him in the car and tried to drive quickly to the emergency room. Unfortunately the traffic was awful and we got behind every slow person....however, Henry had stopped bleeding and stopped crying. We got to the hospital, along with all of the grandparents and were seen pretty fast. However had to wait and wait in the back to get all of the "stuff" done. Come to find out Henry did not need stitches, but instead the doctor glued it together after cleaning it out with freezing cold water for 5 mintues. All of the cleaning and gluing took about 20 minutes of us holding Henry down and him screaming....tons of fun, but better than stitches!!! It was not a fun night, but they loaded him up with motrin so he slept through the night. I was thinking he would probably wake up and need more pain medicine, but he was good. The even better part was he woke up happy and himself, so I knew he felt better. I imagine this will be the first of many trips to the ER, but it is scary!
3. Henry had his first hair cut!! I hated getting his hair cut before his 1st birthday, but he was growing a baby mullet and it was getting longer and longer by the minute. I was planning on taking him for his Easter picture today so I scheduled his hair cut so he would look nice for the picture... his hair is great, but no Easter picuture with a gash and glue on his head.

4. Henry figured out how to stack the star shaped blocks on the post....you have to watch the video to understand what I am saying....it's a little long!

5. We went to our class at the Little Gym on Monday and our instructor talked about throwing balls. We practiced and practiced. We have also practiced outside with the dogs. Well, today he really started tossing the ball. It is so amazing how fast he learns if you just practice something (oh, ignore his outfit....we just changed his diaper and were getting ready to change his shirt because it was filthy from lunch).

6. We had our big family dinner at our house on Sunday. Henry did great and actually got to eat with the family. It was lots of fun!

7. I am not sure how this will be taken, but Henry has started LOVING watching TV!! Actually, he will really only watch 1 show....Yo Gabba Gabba. However, he has started watching a whole show without moving. I guess it is good and bad...good so I can get some stuff done, but bad because he should not be watching tv all of the time. We only watch in moderation.....sometimes! I put him on the floor and he stayed there for the entire show!

8. Henry is still having issues with his congestion, so after going back to the doctor, he is now on Allegra and Singulair....we have not been on them long enough to tell if they are working or not. He is still congested and coughing!

It's Been a While

Well, I have been extremely busy the past few weeks and have taken pictures but have not posted in almost 3 weeks!!!  Over that time, Henry reached his 11 month mark, so I snapped some quick pictures on morning.  Unfortunately, he was not in very good spirits and did not want to take pictures.  This is the happiest I could get him.....

When Henry wakes up from sleeping, the first thing he does is grab every stuffed animal I keep in the bag and throw it on the ground.  He did it during our photo shoot, so I decided to document it.

He also loves to grab onto the cord for the fan....if you are holding him anywhere near a fan, he reaches up to tell you, "let me hold that string."

I was trying to get a birthday picture, but he looked so tired here, that I just decided it would work for the blog.  I was trying to get Henry down to 1 nap a day and he was not having it!!!  We are now back to 2.

My sweet little guy is still having to do breathing treatments.   I felt like I needed to document this as well!

In his 11 month of life, Henry has decided he is going to be a golfer.  He carries the golf club all the time...inside and out.  It is hilarious!

I had to put some video on as well....I found this one of him playing in the snow and thought it was precious.....

Now...this one is my favorite!!!  I have been trying over and over to catch Henry dancing on video, but everytime I pull out the camera he becomes more interested in it than dancing.  Here are he and Beau dancing to a song on Nick Junior....
