And the gold goes to.....

Henry and I have been attending a class at The Little Gym since January.  The Little Gym is a children's gym that helps to "build motor skills in a fun and nurturing environment, while fostering enhanced emotional, intellectual and social skills" (Little Gym's website explanation).  We have thoroughly enjoyed our semester and plan on going back in the fall.  Henry is in the Birds class which is children 9 months to 18 months.  He started out a little early, but was doing just as well as the older kids, so we kept him in that class.  Over the semester, Henry and I have learned a ton of new skills for him and for me to work on with him.
Yesterday was the last class and everyone was invited....sort of like his recital!  Well, since we have such supportive parents, Henry was the winner for the loudest cheering squad!  I am posting some pictures Beau took during class to show you how much he loved going!

The Wheelbarrow!

I thought this was good with the sign in the background!

Overhead flip over mommy....he loves this!!!

Parachute fun!  Henry is not overly excited about this activity.

Here Henry has a ton of fun climbing over and down safely...unlike the tables at our house.

Balance Beam!

Hanging from the high bars!

Rolling....

to a front roll.

Back handspring after doing a somersault.

Balancing on the ball.

And lastly, his metal!  He got the GOLD!!!

He did not love wearing his metal, but instead playing with it in a typical 14 month old fashion!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers who read my blog.  We took these pictures for our mom's in the outfits they bought Henry, and thought I would share them.  We hope you all have a wonderful day!

Fun times

For Henry's birthday he got 2, yes 2, awesome baby pools.  They are really wonderful because they are completely different.  One is more like a sprinkler/ankle pool, and the other is a double pool with a slide.  Well, we have tried both out and Henry loves them equally!  Henry's friend, Carlisle came over to play in the pool on Sunday and Lindsey took some great pictures of the boys!
We put them in the big pool, but since the water was deeper, it was too cold, so we turned off the sprinkler pool and let them splash around.  They both loved, loved it!!!

Holding hands....how sweet!

Then we came inside for a little drying off, and playing.  Carlisle is trying to crawl and Henry has been lying on the ground (I think waiting for our Bichon to come curl up next to him....which she did once and he loved it....now she won't come within 3 feet of him) so I grabbed Lindsey's camera and got the two boys lying around.

Lastly, my parents gave Henry a singing dog for his birthday that he absolutely loves.....and he has figured out how to push his foot to get him to start singing, lovely!  I HAVE to catch this on video, it is hilarious!!!

Truck

I have been the slackest blogger this spring!!!  We have had one of our busiest months with birthdays, traveling and life in general.

Henry is growing like a weed and moving NONSTOP!!!  We went to a birthday party last night and Henry was all over the place.  He sat down on the stairs and instead of just sitting he was rocking back and forth talking....that just shows how little he sits still.  I forgot to post his year stats, so I am posting them mostly for my knowledge later:

Taken on April 1, 2010
Weight: 22 pounds 4 ounces    50%
Height: 30 3/8 inches     75%
Head Circumference: 18 1/4 inches    55%

Since that appointment, we have been back to the doctor 3 times: ear infection, eczema, bacterial infection, and he now weighs over 24 pounds!!!  It does not surprise me because he has become a great eater!!!  I cannot believe how much he will eat at each meal (if he likes what is served).  For breakfast he eats half of a banana and 2, yes 2, whole pancakes.  For lunch he will eat a whole sandwich along with some type of fruit (usually watermelon, peaches, pears or cantaloupe), or a vegetable (peas or green beans).  Then for dinner he will eat whatever we eat (he loves chicken quesadillas, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, sweet potatoes, noodles, tortellini, grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, regular potatoes, black beans, tomatoes, McDonald's on occasion)....he will scarf if all down before we even sit down.  I am thankful for his appetite....one less thing for me to stress over!

Now for all he has accomplished since his 1 year birthday:
1.  Henry started pointing when we went on our spring break trip.  He points at everything now!!!
2.  Henry said his first word: TRUCK.....no, he has not said mama or dada to us, just truck.  I am pretty sure he started saying tractor as of  yesterday and he may have said shoe, but I am not 100% sure.  He handed my friend Sarah a shoe and we both thought he said "SHOE."
3.  He has started loving books!! He got a ton of truck and tractor books (hmmmmmm) for his birthday and we will sometimes read books for an hour.  He loves pointing to all of the pictures and saying truck...tractor....maybe I should get some mom and dad books!
4. As of this Thursday, Henry had all of his 15 month molars halfway through the skin, 8 teeth already out and one of his canine teeth is also pushing through.  Wow, he must be in pain!!!  Maybe that is where the ear infection and bacterial infection came from.
5. He has started using a fork to eat.  I will try to get this on video.  It is pretty amazing how fast he picked that up when I put a fork on his tray!
6.  Henry is now completely on Silk Soy milk.  Sometimes I think it is a good thing, but we go through the cartons like crazy!  That stuff is not cheap!  This is a picture of his last formula bottle....

7.  Henry got another swing set for his birthday from us and he loves, loves it!!!  He really wants to climb the stairs, but is not quite ready.  He will also swing all day if you would let him!

8.  Henry got in a "pool" for the first time....a baby pool.  He loves it!! He has not learned how to get back above water if  his face goes it, so it is a little scary, but he loves to splash around in it!  I took some pictures with my phone yesterday, but they did not turn out.  I know I can get some better ones with my camera so be on the lookout!
9.  Henry is down to 1 nap a day.  It was a little tortuous for me, but he plays until about 11:45, eats lunch and goes down between 12:15 and 12:45.  He is only sleeping for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, but I like it better because it is a bigger chunk of time and we can play all morning.
10. Henry got a kitchen for his birthday as well and LOVES it!!!  It is pretty funny to watch him because he imitates the things I do in the kitchen.

11.  Henry has learned how to sit and come down the stairs on his own....with my constant supervision.

12. Henry loves the chair we gave him for his birthday.  It is so funny to see him sitting in it watching tv!

I know there is more that I am forgetting, but I need to get a shower while he is asleep.

Last Thursday was Beau's 31st birthday and we went to the beach with his parents to celebrate!  We had a great time, thanks Jan and Bill, relaxing, talking, reading, eating and getting some much needed help with our little guy.  Here are some pictures I took while we were down there.

Beau's birthday:                                                                                      Running is all he does now!

And more running.....                                         And Pops running.......

Running is fun!

Then to the beach!
