Everyday.....probably not.

I am soooooo far behind in posting that Finley is almost 4 months old.  I am to try to post something everyday until I catch up. The likely hood of me actually getting to do that is slim, but I am going to make it one of my goals so I don't forget anything!
Starting with Finley passing the 3 mark....he was 3 months old on October 17th.  He actually had an exciting 3 month celebration because my parents and I took him to Texas for my grandfathers 89th birthday.  We left on Thursday and stayed until Sunday.  It was fantastic to see all of my Texas family.  Finley did amazing traveling, especially because we had a ton of issues trying to get there AND he got his first ear infection the Tuesday before we left.  The ped decided to give him the rocefin shot of antibiotics which is the equivalent to 3 days worth and it always helps.  Then he was to take an oral medicine everyday for 10 days thereafter.  His ears did not seem to bother him much, it was his lack of sleeping that was tough.  He seemed to be feeling ok, but when Monday rolled around, he did not seem to feel very good, so off to the pediatrician again.  The doctor was not happy with his ears again, so another round of antibiotic shots and we were off.  After about a week and a half, we were back again with a double ear infection and then last Tuesday we went back for a recheck.  We were told if his ears still had puss in them, we would be going to the ent.....low and behold we were at the ent the next morning at 9:30.  The  ENT looked in this ears, took him back and put tubes in them.  Since the tubes last Wednesday he is a whole new baby!  When he turned 3 months, Finley really started noticing the world around him.  He started swatting at things, smiling more and recognizing faces.  Last Thursday he started to talk....and now it it nonstop talking.  He is laughing, talking and seeming to enjoy life a little more.  I am going to give credit to the tubes for that!
On a frustrating note, he is NOT sleeping through the night AT ALL.  He barely makes it 3 hours and is sometimes not even interested in eating when he does get up.  I have heard that momsoncall.com is a great source seeing as I have tried Baby Wise and The Baby Whisperer and have not seen good results.  Anyone have any advice?  Other that the sleeping factor, Finley is a sweet little guy who has really just come to life!  Here is his 3 month photo shoot......

Here is the rest of October.....

I have been an extremely slack blogger lately!  A lot has gone on since the middle of October.  I will sum it up quickly.  Below are the pictures of Henry and his class going on their first field trip to the pumpkin patch.  I was able to go and had a great time!  It is so fun and interesting to see your child interact with his teachers and classmates.  We packed the children in these industrial strollers and walked 1/2 mile to visit the pumpkins.  The leader at the church read the kids some books and then they were able to choose a small pumpkin to take home.

The Monday after the field trip was Halloween.  Finley and I went to Texas to visit my mom's family and got home late Sunday night.  The week we left, Finley got his first ear infection....we went back to the doctor on Halloween and it was not any better, so more shots of antibiotics and oral meds.  Needless to say, he did not get to trick or treat.  I did, however, get him a costume and put him in it for a little while......my sweet lobster.

I went back to Henry's school on Halloween to witness his Halloween party and it was as I expected....crazy! The kids were pretty cute, but had just downed candy, cupcakes, cookies, and mandarin oranges....real healthy!  Here is Henry and his BFF at school.  They are both wild but sweet.

Then we went to a Fall Carnival with everyone and it was impossible to get a good picture of my race car driver and the football player....Carlisle.

Then the girls came and notice Delainey is the only one looking at the camera.

Then it was off to trick or treat.  Henry did awesome!  It was just the two of us...and he would walk right up and ring the doorbell, step back from the door and when someone came to the door Henry would say in his sweet voice, "trick or treat" and was really excited about the candy he got!  It was a fun for all!

The Pumpkin Patch

A quick post for the night....we made it to the pumpkin patch as a family and I was not able to get as many shots of the boys, but these are what I did end up getting.  Happy Fall!

Finley is 2 months old

Finley was 2 months old on Monday, Oct 17th.  I actually took these pictures then, but am just getting around to posting them.  We went to the doctor on Tuesday morning for his 2 month appointment and Henry had to get a flu shot.  Let me tell you how fun it is for your 2 month old to get 3 shots and your 2 1/2 year old to get 1 shot.  Henry was way more traumatized, but I figured that would be the case.  Luckily my mom went with us so I had 2 sets of hands....thanks mom!  Finley's 2 month stats were very close to Henry's.  He weighted in at exactly 11 pounds (32%), he is 22 1/2 inches long (32%), and his head circumference is 15 inches (12%).  To me the low statistics means he is small for his age, but he does not seem to be abnormally small to me. Anyways, we are loving our little guy and would be extremely happy if he would sleep through the night, but I am not expecting that for a while unfortunately.  SO, the next time you see one of us and we look tired, just grab our kids and offer us your bed.  We will gladly take it!

Happy Fall Y'all!

Fall is finally here.  The days are getting shorter, the nights cooler and longer, the pumpkin spice latte is back at Starbucks, football is in full swing, and the trees are changing color.  All these things remind me it is time to take a visit to the pumpkin patch!  I have not taken Finley to the pumpkin patch yet, just did my annual trip with Lindsey and Carlisle.  However, I wanted to throw this picture in of Finley getting ready for fall.

Every year Lindsey and I have taken the boys to the pumpkin patch we have had different difficulties.  The first year the boys were so small.  We had to lean Carlisle on the pumpkins.  Last year they would not cooperate.  This year they just wanted to run and roll around in the pumpkins.  I did get some cute shots of both boys though.  All in all it was a fun afternoon at the pumpkin patch.  I will be taking both of my boys back together, but had to get some with Henry's BFF first.

On our way.......GO TIGERS!

A few weeks ago, Lindsey and I decided it would be fun to bring our boys up to a Clemson game.  Dara, Wards mom, has been bringing Ward so we thought it would be fun for all if we brought everyone.  We had a pretty good day.  The boys love being together and were pretty excited about riding in the car together.  They did great on the way up playing on the ipad, watching movies and looking out the window.  We really wanted them to nap on the way up so we gave them their passy's and blankies....but no nap was had by either.  When we got there they just looked around at all that was going on and seemed pretty excited.  We tailgated for a couple hours, watched the band and then went into the game.  Henry was not so sure about the game....he started crying after the players ran down the hill and wanted to "go home." He and I went back to the car and hung out until Carlisle and Lindsey came back.  Overall it was a fun, exhausting day!
The boys and Lindsey on the way to see the tigers play!

Ward, Henry and Carlisle doing a little tailgating before the game!

Carlisle wanted to play golf while tailgating!

Henry liked the food!

A LOT!

Our first family picture in Clemson....minus Finley.

Watching the band...."no Henry, not the Fresh Beat Band."

So cute!

Most exciting 25 seconds in college football!

Henry liked the balloons, then wanted to leave immediately.  So, we missed kickoff, but he really liked watching the video of the balloons over and over again.  We will try again in November!

After the game, no nap, a few meltdowns, lots of food and running,  and now they are drawing on the sidewalk.....at that point it was whatever they wanted to do to keep them busy!
We left Clemson in the 3rd quarter so we could make it home by bedtime.....both boys were asleep before we got out of Clemson  (which is pretty small)!

I mean out!
