Just three weeks after turning 100 years old, Grandpa Taylor returned home to his Heavenly Father. Even though he was 100 years old and I knew he wouldn't live forever, it was still hard to see him go. I'm so thankful that we were able to visit him in Loa this past summer as he was honored in the
Wayne County parade and more recently celebrate his
100th birthday with him. We went to visit him at the hospital the day before he passed away. It was really hard to see him like that. It was sure sweet though to see Jeffrey hold his hand and tell him he loved him. I think we all knew we were saying good bye. I've said it before, but I'm just so grateful that I had a Great Grandpa that I got to share 32 years of my life with. He was there for all of the special events in my life. And the fact that my kids got to meet and know their Great Great Grandpa is even more amazing. I know in his final days he was sure looking forward to being with Grandma again. It's been 10 years since she passed away.
The funeral service was sure a nice celebration of his life. It was nice to hear stories of his life and think of all the sweet little things he has done for us over the years. He never missed sending us a few dollars for our birthdays or baking us cupcakes for Valentines. I know that his children, 8 grandchildren and their spouses, 26 great-grand children and their spouses, and 15 great-great grandchildren will all miss him dearly. He has been an amazing example to all of us. We love you Grandpa Taylor!
