Disneyland and MUCH more!

We decided it was time to go on a little family vacation. As some of you may know, 2010 is the 25th anniversary since Back to the Future came out. Jordan is a HUGE Back to the Future fan, and I couldn't pass up this opportunity, so we went to California. It started on Friday, November 5, 2010 (Marty goes back to Nov 5, 1955 in the movie) with a screening of BTTF at Puente Hills Mall (Twin/Lone Pine Mall in the movie).

Saturday was a busy one as well. We started off by going to the Petersen Automobile Museum in Los Angeles, CA. They have a lot of cars and even a whole level dedicated to entertaining kids. They have a Hot Wheels sections, movie cars section, as well as many other categories. The main reason I brought Jordan here is because... that's right... there's a GOLD DeLorean there!

Jordan loved seeing the gold DeLorean. Since we aren't rich, Jordan has been working on collecting the HotWheels collector's edition DeLoreans.

After spending all day there, we had lunch at Johnny Rockets and then went driving through Beverley Hills. The rest of the day was very relaxed, as we didn't have anything in particular planned.

Sunday morning, we were up bright and early. We got ready and drove to the Universal Hilton, where we met up with the rest of the 25th Anniversary crew. We got onto a big tour bus and we were on our way! We visited a bunch of different locations where the movie was filmed. Can you guess what part of the movie this is from?

Monday and Tuesday were filled with Disneyland fun for all. Dan and Angie went to Disneyland with us and took lots of pictures. I think Emily really liked it. She had fun riding on Dumbo, watching Aladdin the Musical, riding in Finding Nemo's Submarines, going on a Jungle Cruise, and much more!
They already had reindeer there for the kids to see and a lot of holiday stuff was already up. We ended our vacation by watching the World of Color Celebration in California Adventures Tuesday night.

Wednesday late morning, we packed up our bags and said good-bye to California until next time. It was a long trip home, and we made a couple extra stops along the way to take pictures. Can you guess where we stopped to get this picture?

There's a new sister in town!

It seemed like a long wait to September 9th, 2010, which was when little Chloe was due to come into our lives. My mom, Jessi, and Willie all came to visit and to help with Chloe once she arrived. Willie had to go home on August 25th because he had to start school the next week, but Jessi and my mom stayed.

Well, September 9th came, and went.... no baby.My doctor was great and tried to help get Chloe here on time by trying different methods. Nothing seemed to work. My doctor was on-call from Sunday September 12th at 6pm until Monday September 13th at 6pm. We wanted to schedule an induction for Sunday night (so that Dr. Hazelrigg could be the doctor to deliver her). Unfortunately, the hospital was booked for inductions that night and couldn't do it. I was finally scheduled for Wednesday, September 15th at 10am.

In the meantime, my family kept me up and walking all day long (and going over speed bumps a little faster than normal) to try to get me going... nothing seemed to work. Sunday morning, I got up as usual to get ready for church, but it seemed that maybe I wouldn't be going to church today. I was cramping a little bit and felt as if I was slowly peeing my pants and had no control over it.

Jordan took me into the hospital around 10am and sure enough, my water had broken, and I was already dialated to a 4. The nurse knew my water was broken without even running the test (but she had to anyway for the records). I was put into a Labor and Delivery room right around 11am and pitocin was started by 12 noon. This was finally it! She was finally going to be born!
I was fine until around 2 or 3 when the contractions started hurting REALLY bad. Jordan and Jessi had gone down to the cafeteria to grab something quick to eat and of course that's when the pain started to really hurt.

Once Jordan and Jessi got back, I got the epidural and life was good. I couldn't feel ANYTHING past my stomach. Dr Hazelrigg was notified that I was in labor, so he arrived at the hospital at 5:30pm (half hour early), so that he could be ready whenever Chloe was.

The nurse finally told me around 6:00pm that I was ready to push. (Isn't the mom supposed to be the one to tell the nurse that she's ready to push?) I was so numb, I couldn't even feel the contractions enough to know WHEN to push, and was able to push harder than I ever could if I could have actually felt the pain. I ordered my dinner and dinner arrived at 6:30pm, but Chloe wasn't here yet, so I had to wait. Dr. Hazelrigg came in and we started pushing at 6:39pm. I'm not sure how many pushes it took, but Chloe Marie Jones was born at 6:45pm! That's right... 6 minutes of pushing!

Chloe Marie Jones was born at 6:45pm, 20.5 inches long, 8lbz 12 oz (almost 1.5 lbs heavier than her big sister). I was really glad to finally be able to eat, and this labor was soooo much more enjoyable than the last time. I remembered to eat something small before heading to the hospital, I was only in the hospital for about 8 hrs before having the baby (versus almost 27 hrs), and the epidural was perfect the first time (instead of being "okay" after 5 tries).

Playing Catch Up!

So it's been a LONG, LONG time since I've last updated our family blog! I can't believe how much has happened since then. We had a birthday party for Emily's 1st birthday, I got pregnant, Jordan is still working for National/Alamo Rent-a-car, moved into a new apartment, struggled being pregnant with no energy while taking care of a toddler with lots of energy, completed almost a whole year of college, had Jessi, Willie, and my mom visit for a month, had our gorgeous daughter, Chloe, went to Disneyland, and just celebrated Emily's 2nd birthday!

Wow! That's a busy year! I've put up a couple pics of the new apartment. We're still working on keeping it clean while taking care of everything else. (Those of you with kids, or who have had kids, fully understand, I'm sure!)

This is our new QUEEN SIZE bed! We have been sleeping on a full-size bed since we got married and decided it was time we got a new bed. It's wonderful! I actually have to climb into bed because it's soo tall. It'll be nice for when we are able to move into an actual house someday.

This is our front room. As you can see, we watch Mrs. Spider's Sunnypatch. Even though Emily has her own TV, her shows are on almost all day in the front room because she'd rather be out in the living room where I am, and where little sister, Chloe, is at. She is such a good big sister!

Emily Dawn Jones

We had to have professional pictures taken of Emily, so we did when she turned 3 months old. I know these are old pics, but they'll do... besides, they are too cute to pass up.

I thought this one was really cute since it was February 11, right before Valentine's Day.

Jordan says that he thinks this picture

makes her look more mature... I didn't know

babies could look mature at all... just cute, cute,

cute, and more cute!

If you know Emily, you'll know that this picture shows her personality so well.
