Spending time with Grandma and cousins!

Baylee loves spending time with her Grandma and cousin Luke (a.ka. Louie). Louie and Baylee have fun together, but they also act like brother and sister. They would hit each other a lot. Grandma took Baylee to Seth's Thanksgiving day at school, a storytime and craft at the library, and helped her make a gingerbread house after Thanksgiving. These are fun memories she will remember. Decorating and eating sugar cookies for FHE!

Andy's parents came to town for Dan and Linsey's baby Gisele that was born a few weeks ago. They also came for Thanksgiving too . It was fun having them here. Baylee loved them being here. Baylee would dip her knife in the icing before and after frosting her cookie. She likes icing better than the cookie. It was a fun activity to do with the family.Thursday, December 3, 2009
Sydney at 6 months!
I hate wireless internet. It takes forever to blog pictures. It has taken me days. It won't let you do several at one time because it takes too long. I will be glad to have fast speed internet. Anyways Sydney looks adorable in her hat. I found it at this children's boutique. It will be great for winter. She had her 6 month appt for her shots today, but they were her 4 month shots because we missed them. She had 6 shots. She has been really sore today. I feel bad for her. Her legs probably hurt. She is 50 % in weight and 90 % in height (surprise, surprise!).

Sydney's 6 months already!

I was looking at Andy's iphone and found these pictures of Sydney only 2 days old. She is so adorable. We love her so much. I can't believe how fast the time went by. She is so tall. She is already wearing 6-12 month clothes and pajamas. Today is a day I have been looking forward to for a few months. My pediatrician said that Sydney should be grown out of the no chocolate and no dairy stage by 6 months. I don't know though because I had some a few days ago and she was still fussy. oh well I have done it for 4 months now what is a few more. Monday, November 2, 2009
Trunk or Treat!

Well our ward had a trunk or treat on Saturday and a guy in our ward took pictures of all the costumes. He was so kind and printed them for everyone and brought them to church yesterday. He took such good pictures. Andy looked so funny in his Cow costume. Baylee and Sydney were of course the cutest kids there. After the trunk or treat we went to Dan and Linsey's house for pizza and some more trick or treating with Luke, Adelin, and Seth. Baylee had a blast with her cousins. Andy had a great time too watching Baylee go up to the houses and say trick or treat. She knew just what to do. I ate pizza and chocolate on Halloween. I decided to give Sydney bottles through the night so I could enjoy one day of cheese and chocolate. But it wasn't as great as I thought it was going to be. On Sunday I had some chocolate and it did taste as good as I hoped it would be, because I wasn't supposed to have any so it made it taste better I guess. I will be glad when I can have dairy and chocolate again. Baylee still keeps talking about trick or treating. She loved Halloween.

Orange rolls!
1 dinner roll recipe (below)
1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
grated orange rind from two large oranges ( I recommend doublying this mixture to spread on dough)
orange glaze:
mix together 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 3 Tbsp oranged juice, and 1/2 tsp. grated orange zest.
Follow directions below for dinner rolls. Combine butter, sugar, orange juice, and orange zest in a bowl and mix well. When dough is ready to shape into rolls, divide it in thirds. Roll each portion into a rectangle. Spread mixture over dough. Starting with long side, roll up jelly roll style. seal edges well, then cut with dental floss into 1 inch slices.
Place on a greased baking sheet. Let rise until dough doubles. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. remove rolls from pans and drizzle with orange glaze. The orange zest is a necessity. Makes them so much better.
Dinner rolls
2 1/2 cups warm water
1/2 cup oil
3/4 cup sugar
3 1/2 Tbsp yeast
Mix together and let sit for 15 minutes, then add 2 beaten eggs.
Then add:
6 1/2 cups flour (might need more)
1 Tbsp salt
Mix in mixer about 10 min with knead hook. Let rise to double in size. About one hour. Roll out into rolls. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.
