Field Trip to the Pueblo Indian Cultural Center
I didn't sign up to be an official chaperone, because I didn't want to farm my kids out again. But I drove down with the little ones and met Hayden's class there and walked around with him for the field trip. Which is, frankly, a rather boring field trip for 1st graders, and even more so for 2 and 4 year olds. They do a lot of sitting and listening and looking at one mural after another and not very much hands-on learning. Don't be deceived by these pictures--they were the only times I wasn't chasing after/wrestling with Bennett or trying to keep Sydney going for a few more minutes. But hurray, I went to a field trip, and it was really important to Hayden that I was there, so points for me. I guess. ;)
From Cumorah's Hill
May 1st and 2nd I directed our Stake Youth's production of From Cumorah's Hill. We had about 170 youth in the choir and they were a thrilling sight to see. Dallin got to be in the prophet ensemble and shared a very sweet testimony in Sacrament Meeting the next day about how he felt a spiritual confirmation when he sung these words:
"We are the prophets years gone by.
We spent our days, we gave our lives
For a record that was written, not for us, but for you.
And every word is true."
Hearing testimonies like his make it worth every minute of time and energy.
Family Time
"Mom, look! We're snuggle-buggle-ing!"

Random piece of May: Cherries, Dress-ups and Friends
The big kids set Bennett and the Esplin girls up on a date. They dressed them up and fed them pizza and cherries and took pictures.
More random dress-ups:
An out of shape Darth Vader
And a ninja jedi cow. ?
May is also the month of the cherry harvest at our house. We had lots of helpers get those cherries down for a few weeks, and the cherries were DE-licious!
So glad school is out and there is more time to play with friends!!
