Tuscan, Highlander, Acadia, Oh my!

My dear little zippy car,

I loved you and you made me so happy. Thank you for loving and protecting my family. As they say, the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. May you rest in peace.
xoxo

Dearest Highlander,

I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. You are beautiful inside and out. I promise it's not you... it's me.
xoxo

My new ride,

I look forward to getting to know you better. You are so clean right now. Please don't be upset with the kids when they leave a crumb here or there. (me too, but I'll blame the kids I'm sure) They will love you and push you and I promise you will love them too. Please be patient with me while I figure you out. You are a bit bigger than our zippy little Tuscan so I need to learn my space a bit. Today I will show you two of our favorite places... school and Target. You will be there often and I am sure you will love the parking lots.

Here's to some good times my new friend!

PS
I know you were trying to give us a little extra love by giving us the new car smell. Please don't be offended when Dylan said you smell like a balloon.

Crash!

The excitement of spending a day with friends surrounded by scrapbooking products made my heart flutter. I met Carly and Liz Friday morning ready for a day with paper and adhesive. We hit the road and arrived in Anaheim where we dropped off Faith and switched cars with mom so we didn’t have to move the car seat. Scrapbook Expo here we come! We bought our tickets and were about to walk into the building when my cell phone buzzed in my pocket. It was my mom. On the other end of the phone was a shaken mother/ grandmother telling me how they had been in a car accident. A schmuck decided to run a red light and smash my family and then flee. As my heart sank I asked if everyone was alright. Whew… everyone was fine. Cindy and Maria arrived instantly to help my mom out with the baby. What a blessing! Thank you! A sweet lady followed the schmuck and wrote down his license plate number and came back to give it to mom. Thank you! Gary seemed to be handling the police end of the ordeal. Thank you! The car was towed to a car repair shop where it will stay until it is fixed. Until then I have a rental and a safe family. I can not imagine what my life would have been like if anything happened to any of these three people. I am thankful that they are all safe at home. (Well, technically, right now mom is probably at work, Gary is surly in bed, and Faith is fixed on Little Einsteins, but you know what I mean.) God is good and I am grateful for His protection!

Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place the Most High, who is my refuge no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
Psalm 91: 9-11

One reason why we love Lucid

Let me rewind a bit. Do you remember the post about Faith no longer being authorized to go to speech therapy? Well, Megan, the owner of Lucid Speech & one of Faith's therapists, called our insurance and went to bat for Faith. When Megan called with the news that not only were we able to come back but, they had our spot still open I was overwhelmed with joy! I'm just saying... God is good!!!

What else is going on.... Scrapbook expo this weekend... doing a little redecorating of the family room... Jason & I have started a study together (I still need to do my homework for the week... oops) Dylan & Faith are doing fantastic! It's all good.... =)
