4th of July weekend

We kicked of this past weekend by going to a triple A baseball game, the Memphis Redbirds.  It was so much fun and incredibly hot.  The game ended around 9:30pm and it was still 90 degrees, but Soren didn't seem to mind, in fact he loves being outside.  To get into the spirit of baseball I put Soren in his baseball MVP onesie, I was pretty excited he had an outfit to match the occasion.  It was really difficult to persuade Soren to look at the camera and I don't blame him, there are tons of interesting looking people in Memphis especially on a really hot day when no one seems to care what their body looks like as long as they're wearing the least possible amount of clothing!

Rather than sitting on bleachers or chairs, we bought tickets to sit on the hill in left field.  It's a great idea for it allows us to spread out all the baby stuff, but we kept sliding down onto the people in front of us.
As soon as we put Soren in his new swimsuit we couldn't stop him from posing, I like the saucy "look-over-the-shoulder" pose with his but sticking out, I'm pretty sure he learned that from Todd.  Like I keep saying, my baby is advanced!

We spent most of the day at the pool with friends and Todd played an epic 4 hour marathon of volleyball with some SCO guys and a crazy drunk black man who's shorts I prayed would not fall down.  Soren is enjoying the pool more, even after his traumatizing dunk, and has started kicking his feet when Todd motors his around. We had to say good bye to his rash guard, Soren's head doesn't fit through the neck hole and most of his belly sticks out the bottom but at least his hat still sort of fits.

To end the 4th of July we ate apple pie, changed into our 4th of July outfits (actually just Soren, Todd wearing blue is merely a coincidence) and watched fireworks on TV.  The last part is really lame, but everybody was way too tired to leave the house and besides our friends watched fireworks in a  grocery store parking lot and that didn't quite appeal to us so we'll just try again next year!
