Today..and more

Today AR and I spent the whole day with family. Heath's Uncle Jerry was laid to rest this morning so while the family was at the funeral service, I stayed back to help get the food ready and take care of children who didn't need to go to the service. Although we were all together for a tragic occasion, it was so nice spending time with the family. Heath's family is huge but I have always felt so close to them. They are very welcoming, supportive, and understanding therefore I love being around them.
AR loves them too!
After I put AR to bed I did what I usually do on the last day of the month..Sort through the months pictures on my computer, camera, and XD card. I realized that there were a lot of random pictures I didn't share this month and for some reason, most of them are of AR eating or the after effects of eating. So I will share a few pictures from the month of June that I didn't get around to sharing.. I hope everyone has a blessed month of July. AR and I will begin the month at the doctors office for her 9 month check up.
I let AnnMarie feed AR dinner one night and this is what she looked like afterwards...

She is such a messy eater!

My Fussy Little One

AR is normally a very happy baby for the most part. For the past few days, however, she has been so irritable and clingy. Her 9 month check up is on Wednesday and I am trying to hold out till then to take her to the doctor. She has felt warm like she might have a little temp. but when I check it, she's not running fever. I know one of her problems is she is cutting another tooth but I think there is something more to it than that. It is just so obvious she doesn't feel well. She also hasn't been sleeping much which is also contributing to the fussiness. I have never met a child that sleeps as little as she does. Her main problem is she has become a very light sleeper and any little noise wakes her up. She also fights sleep so if she does wake up she doesn't easily fall back to sleep. On top of that, she doesn't feel well. I hope I don't sound like a bad Mommy for not already taking her to the doctor but she isn't running fever and other than the fact that she's irritable and has a runny nose, she's not showing any signs of being really sick.. I just don't see the point of making 2 trips to the doctor within 3 days if at all possible!

{AR and Nana}

So after a lazy day at home dealing with a whiny baby, I dressed her up all pretty and took her to Heath's Uncle Jerry's visitation. AR was so happy while we were there. She was a little clingy but was all smiles. I swear she understands when someone tells her she's pretty. Maybe she was irritable today because she wanted to look pretty today. When we're vegging out at home I don't worry about the bows in her hair or what she has on. Maybe she was trying to tell me that she was ready for me to put a bow in her hair and a pretty dress on her :) ha! I wish.. The visitation was so upsetting. Jerry left behind a wife who adored him and the children {21, 18, 12}. I can't imagine loosing my father, especially at that young of an age. Of course they are torn to pieces but they were so strong tonight. My heart aches for them. I have made the executive decision to not attend the funeral service in the morning due to AR's behavior the last couple of days but we will be attending the burial afterwards.

Happy Birthday Stephen

Today is my little brother's 23rd birthday! Him turning 23 makes me feel so old. Tonight, AR and I {Daddy had to head back to Shreveport} went to Pop's and JiJi's for dinner and presents. When we were younger, Stephen and I loved to watch movies so for his birthday, I got him this, which was one of our favorites that I knew he had not seen in a while! He was completely surprised :) We love you Uncle Stephen!
{pictures to come soon.. My camera died so I took pictures with Auntie Sarah's camera}

After Heath left this afternoon, I called my sister and asked her to help me with AR's 8 month pictures. For the past couple of months, Beth has been taking the babies monthly pictures but time got away from us this month. Since AR will be 9 months old in just a few days, I wanted to get her 8 month pictures done today. So I took pictures of her in my dad's backyard and they turned out pretty good considering I have NO photography skills at all and have a very simple point and shoot camera :) AR can be such a ham sometimes!

Daddy's Home

So Daddy made it in last night around 8:30. He was so exhausted but that didn't stop him from getting in some AR time! The look on her face was priceless when he walked in. I never really thought about what she might think when he's gone but I don't think she realizes he's gone until she seems him again. When she saw him it look like she took a double look to make sure it was really him and then she squealed! It was like she was saying "OH WOW!! I REMEMBER YOU! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Her reaction made me tear up! It is so obvious they adore each other!

Today we've had a lazy day..

AR did this...
while Daddy did this...

After resting most of the morning and afternoon, we went down to Heath's aunt's house to spend time with his family.{AR with her cousin, Scott}
We received some heart breaking news this morning. Heath's Uncle Jerry died of a brain aneurysm last night. Heath is heart broken mostly for his Aunt Sonya who found him. Please keep his family in your prayers over the next few days.

Change in Plans

So after packing over 5 bags between AR and I, lining up Nana and PawPaw to take care of the dogs and flowers, and driving 5 hours to Blairsville, GA yesterday I had a change in plans. Heath called me last night and told me he wasn't working on Saturday and was considering coming home. I was so upset with the thought of him coming home and AR and I not being there. So he called me this morning and told me he could leave about 2:00 but still wasn't sure if he was just going to stay in Shreveport for the weekend or go ahead and drive the 7 hour trip home. After talking to my mom and step dad, we decided that AR and I should head back home. AR is cutting a new tooth {bottom right} and fought sleep last night. She was fussy all morning and would not eat and to add to all of that she has a green, runny nose {we will probably be making a trip to the doctor on Monday}. We had plans on going to the Braves/Red Sox game tomorrow but were afraid that with her being sick/fussy we all would probably have a miserable time. On top of all that, my mom really thought that if we told Heath that AR and I were going home he would decide to also. She we loaded back up and between my mom and Memaw we made it back to Alabama! When I told Heath that we were going home whether or not he was, he decided to come home too! SO WE GET TO SEE DADDY THIS WEEKEND!! We thought we were not going to see him till next weekend so needless to say we are ecstatic!

Sleep Overs

With Heath being out of town, I hate staying at home by myself. I am such a chicken and stay paranoid the whole time. Therefore, AR and I have had our share of sleep overs the past few days. After Heath left on Sunday, we went to my Dad's and ended up spending the night. I needed to go home and clean and take care of the dogs and flowers the next morning so JiJi kept AR so I could get everything done. I hate that Heath is out of town but it is so much easier to keep the house clean when he's gone. If I can get it good and clean right after he leaves, it will pretty much stay that way. So I went home and CLEANED...and guess what?...It's still pretty clean! I then headed back to pick AR up and was convinced to spend the night again...So we did :). The only bad thing about staying at my Dad's is I always stay up way to late. JiJi is a talker and we have been known to stay up till the wee hours of the morning just talking. It doesn't help that I have a 18 year old sister who comes in at midnight ready to tell me all about her night and life. So after going to bed at 2:00 Monday morning and 3:00 Tuesday morning and then waking up at 6:00 with AR both mornings has left me exhausted. It's fun though.. I love girl talks! My little brother also loves for us to sleep over. Although he is 5 years older than AR, he plays so good with her. He wants to eat breakfast, take baths, and even sleep with her. He is such a good uncle!
Yesterday, MiMi drove into town for a couple of days to help me in my classroom. When she got into town we ate dinner, took a look around Walmart, and stayed up way to late visiting with my "grown" brother. We did stay at my house last night but, of course, MiMi spent the night!
This morning we got up pretty early to get into the classroom. I knew with my mom here we would get a lot accomplished and thankfully we did!! I need to spend another whole day in there to get everything organized before I can start decorating so I think with 2 more full days in my classroom, it will be ready to welcome my 4th graders. I really want to get started planning as soon as possible so I am getting pretty anxious in wrapping up the classroom part of it.
After we finished in the classroom, AR and I spent the evening at Memaws. We are spending the night here because Memaw lives in Alabaster and I have a workshop to go to in Alabaster in the morning {and because I don't want to stay at home by myself}. So Memaw and MiMi are going to keep AR and take AnnMarie home for me while I am in my workshop!! {Memaw has 3 cats and they are the only cats AR has ever been around. She was scared to death of the kitten at first and then she got to the point where she wouldn't leave it alone..}When the workshop is over AR and I are riding back to Blairsville, GA with MiMi for the weekend! We have an exciting weekend planned with MiMi and Poppa Stan so come back next week to hear all about it. We are really sad Daddy can't come home this weekend but we're looking forward to seeing him next weekend! We really miss him..

Allison's Visit

My friend, Allison, from high school came to visit AR and I today. AR was in a very mellow mood so Allison didn't get the full force of her personality. We had a great time catching up on life and discussing all things baby being Allison recently found out that she is expecting her first child in February!!! We are so anxious to meet baby Brantley and pray for a safe pregnancy and delivery! We love you Allison!!

Daddy's Day

Today we celebrated Heath's first Father's Day and what an amazing father he is. AR is so lucky to have such a wonderful daddy in her life! Today was a little bittersweet because, yes, it's Father's Day but Heath also had to leave today to go out of town for two weeks. It's the longest he's ever been away from AR and he's is very upset about having to leave her. So, after spending the morning with his father {PawPaw} and having a little snuggle time with AR, we got Daddy packed up and sent him on his way..
We love you Daddy and Happy Father's Day

AR and Daddy
After AR woke from her nap, she and I headed to my daddy's house {Pops} to celebrate Father's Day with him! We have some amazing daddies and grandaddies in our family. We didn't get to see Poppa Stan or our great grandaddies but they are loved dearly.
Happy Father's Day to all of our favorite men!!

Father Friend

Almost 9 months ago, Heath and his friend Patrick were given a new title...Daddy. These two Daddies {along with a few other Daddy friends} have far exceeded the expectations I had for them and I think Beth and I are so blessed to have not just wonderful husbands but wonderful "baby daddies." So who else would these two daddies want to spend Father's Day weekend with than with each other. So brilliant Beth came up with the idea of us all going to the Barons game Friday night to celebrate Father's Day! We had a great time and the babies were so good! Here are a few pictures from our night...

..and The Curtains Were Hung On The Windows With Care

Sorry for the lack of post this week. I have tried to be in my classroom as much as possible and when I am not there I have Mommy and Wifey things to do :) I took a few pictures today of Heath hanging the FABULOUS curtains Memaw made for my classroom. The pictures kind of make it all look tacky but I promise it's really cute and they make the room look more cozy. I can't wait to share the finished product of the room! I really want to be finished decorating by the end of June so I can get ahead on some planning!

This little stinker was not a very happy baby this afternoon and so my day in the classroom was cut short.

We have a pretty fun and exciting weekend planned so I will have lots to share next week! Have a great weekend!

A Baby Shower and Play Date

What a yucky weekend! Thunderstorms again....

This afternoon, AR and I along with Alston and his mommy attended a baby shower for our friend Cherry. Cherry and Corey are expecting their new addition, Carleigh Lynn, in September. The babies were everywhere and made a few messes and I left my lights on and had to get my car jumped off but we had a good time. After the baby shower, AR and I went back to Alston's house to play and eat dinner!
We had a busy weekend but were very successful with the new sleeping arrangements! Yay AR!
