The Greatest Show on Earth

Beth and I took the Littles to the Circus Friday night.

I know we were both a lot more excited than either one of them were! We arrived an hour early to see the preshow but since it was so crowded, we did a loop around the arena and made our way to our seats.

AR had her eye on the light up toys but she and Alston both were pretty excited about their $6 flags!!

While we were waiting, AR noticed a man selling snow cones. She kept telling me "I want Ice, Mom Mom" so Beth treated them both. {No pictures of the snow cone. I was too busy keeping it off of her clothes}.

When the Cirucs parade began, AR and Alston clapped and clapped and clapped. If Alston even stopped for a second AR would get out of her seat and pick his hands up to make him clap.

They both LOVED the animals because it kept their attention but there were moments when we really had to keep them focused!!!

At one point, before intermission, AR said "Mom Mom, I wanna go home. I tired."...No ma'am :) We did have a great time and Beth and I spent most of our time laughing at the two of them.

Family Man

I heard this song a few days ago for the first time and it immediately brought me to tears. If you know me personally then you know why. Heath's job takes him away from his family for far longer than we want. He has made the sacrifice to do this while the children are really young so we can get where we want to in life {debt free, a home, savings, etc}. It's hard...So hard...Harder than I could have ever imagined but these goals mean a lot to us. Heath is such an amazing Daddy and adores his family and friends. He showed me this video this weekend and it made me think of our little family.

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day...

Sorry this is sideways. I was testing out my camcorder on my phone and didn't realize you had to hold the actual phone sideways to make the video right.
 Wierd!?!?!

I could just eat him up.. Even with bananas all over his face! :)

Mags...

...as AR calls her!

Since Heath is an only child and my 3 siblings are younger, we really thought that the idea of being called Aunt and Uncle would come later in life or not at all. Little did we know it would happen this year! Oh how we love our sweet Maggie....

...and her Mommy ;)

Ava Reese...Lately

Since AR is now 2 and I don't do monthly updates on her I felt the need to give her the spotlight! So what has my Reese's Cup been up to lately...

She is still so tall and lean! I can't get over how long and skinny she is. She is taller than most of our 3 and 4 year old friends. I am sure she will slow down and probably thicken up a bit but since she was born she has been a "giant" as one of our sweet friends refers to our children as.

She is very opinionated on what she wears. She isn't picky but she has certain things that she loves. If she gets it in her mind that she wants to wear something in particular, she will not let it rest. Her most favorite items of clothing are footy pajamas, boots {cowgirl boots, rain boots, it doesn't matter what kind of boots}, a sweater dress , and toboggans and scarfs.

She isn't a very good eater at this stage in her life. She has certain things she loves to nibble on but she never eats a whole lot! Right now our favorites are: fry fries and hamburger, Nutella on a spoon, Uncrustables {out of the box or homemade}, bananas, gummy snacks, Fruit Loops, Choc Choc {Chocolate milk} and Reese's cups.

She is really into dolls. She loves to pretend to feed and put her baby dolls to sleep. She is such a little mommy. She also likes to play with her doll house and loves the little family that came with it. She really loves to sing into her microphones. Truth be known, the child can not carry a tune but she loves to hit those high notes!! She still loves her books and puzzles and of course we are obsessed with Dora and Kai-Lan. Our new favorite character is Caillou from Sprout and Tom and Jerry!!

She is talking up a storm now. Everyone we run into always makes a comment on how well her speech has progressed. She is speaking full sentences and EVERYONE and EVERYTHING has to have a name. With the speech came a dramatic attitude that is so cute right now but Lord help us in a few years. Our newest is: "I don't want to" with the arms crossed or "It's mine!". She amazes me everyday with what she comes up with. I love to have conversations with her. She is so easily amused and gets very excited over the smallest things.

Of course, her Daddy and I, along with the grandparents thinks she is so smart. I don't see her excelling beyond her years but she has picked up on things sooner than I expected. She can count to 10 but sometimes we miss the number 6. She can also count backwards from 5 {Thanks to Little Einsteins}. She can sing her ABC's {It still needs some work}. She also knows her colors and is very quick to let me know when she notices something is a particular color. She is beginning to understand her shapes so hopefully in the next few months she will be able to recall some of the basic ones.

She is one sweet but tough cookie. She can make me so mad and melt me inside and out in just a few short seconds. She is one beautiful child that I can't get enough of. I can't wait to see how her strong personality grows over the next few years. Her Daddy and I are already preparing for a DIVA but also want to make sure that with that comes a tender heart.

Oh how we love our Reese's Cup!!

Winter Storm 2011

The closer the "winter storm" got to Alabama the more nervous I got. I just imagined the kids and I waking up in the middle of the night freezing cold in the dark with no power. So I decided we were not going to take the chance. Therefore, AR, Westin and I stocked up on milk, formula, diapers, and snacks and spent 3 days and 2 nights with our cousins!!

7 Kids/7 adults

Day 1:
2 big crock pots of chili
 Organized our stuff {3 pack n plays, food and luggage to last 14 people a few days, blankets, pillows, blowup mattresses, exersaucer/jumparoo and lap tops}
Bathed big kids
Cleaned up after each other
Passed babies around
Napped
Watched from the inside as everything began to ICE over.

Day 2:
Everyone woke up very disappointed that no more snow had fallen over night.
We ate tomato gravy and biscuits for breakfast.
Tried to pacify the 3 Stooges. They were definitely on their worst behavior.
Gave breathing treatments to two sick babies.
Facebooked
Emily shot her first deer.
Watched the Auburn game with LOTS of Alabama fans and one Auburn fan.

Day 3:
Since the school system decided not to close the schools Mommy had to get everything packed up and get the babies home!

Winter Storm Party of 2011 = Exhausting
However, lots of sweet and fun memories were made! I wouldn't have changed it for the world!
