Westin's First Hair Cut

Westin's hair has been the topic of conversation around this house for months. I have gone back and forth on cutting it but Heath put his foot down on the issue and said he wasn't getting a hair cut yet. He just loves his curls too much and wasn't willing to risk their absence with short hair. In my opinion, we had let it get ridiculously long and was to the point of begging him to at least let me trim it, especially around his ears. Last weekend, Heath finally gave in and Westin got his very first haircut. Thankfully, Nana is an expert in that department so Sunday evening we rode over for dinner and haircuts.

Bribery got us through this.. gum, Cars, candy
He did great considering he is a very active 2 year old who doesn't want to be held down. We only trimmed it up around his ears and in the back. He's still sporting his precious cotton top curls but no longer has the Bozo the clown look going on!

AR was excited about her cut also. She fights me every morning about brushing her hair and putting it up. So I told Nana we needed it short enough to get through the day with no pony tail holders or bows but long enough to pull up if she wanted to. One day I will talk Nana and Daddy into a cute bob in the back. Wouldn't that look precious on her??

Thank you Nana!!

Day 5

Let's go home...

For the record:
Worst beach trip ever {rain and sick babies}
AR loves the beach and the ocean! We can't wait to take her back.
Westin hated the sand and the ocean and we are never taking him back :)
We took the kids to Children's Hospital when we got back because the nurse on call was afraid AR had strider. Whatever AR had was viral. She would run a fever and it would bring her down but as soon as her fever broke she was ready to go. Her fevers were few and far between but hit her hard when the time came.  Westin just had a bad cold that had his asthma out of whack. The ER doctor didn't seem think he had bronchitis like the urgent care doctor had said. Either way, both recovered quickly.

Nana and Poppa came with us. It never fails that most of my pictures are of the kids. I don't know if we would have survived such a horrid trip without them :)

Days of Summer: Week 10 & 11

After getting back from my beach trip it was time to get in real world mode...

July 31, 2012
We had a family dinner for Uncle Joseph's birthday

August 1, 2012
The kids started their first day of preschool!!!

This picture was taken after school because I didn't get it together in time to take it before. They were so tired.

Weekend {August 3, 4, 5}
I surprised the kids on Friday with Scarlett {Pop's and JiJi's dog who use to be our dog before AR was born} when I picked them up from school. We spent the entire weekend at home, eating yummy food, playing with Scarlett, and making huge messes to clean up.

August 7, 2012
I dropped the kids off at preschool {boy was Westin happy about his Pop Tart} and spent the entire day Tuesday at the doctor's office. I have been having horrible back pain and spent most of the morning in the doctor's office and the other half of the day at the chiropractor. I got a phone call on my way home from the chiropractor to tell me that AR was running a fever so I made another visit to the doctor that evening. Not the best day but I was determined to have us all healthy and feeling good before leaving for our family beach trip the next day.

Our beach trip deserves a post of its own...
