Clocks & Duct Tape

Okay it's another venting post...don't continue reading if you don't want to hear complaints. First of all...what is up with all the clocks in my house? Every single one says it's a different time? How in the world am I supposed to know what time it is? For example...if my computer says it is 2:03 pm. my cell phone would say 1:58 p.m., the kitchen 2:04, the security system 1:59, the thermostat 1:56, my alarm clock 2:01, Bridgers alarm clock 2:02, our bathroom clock 2:02, Hailey clock 2:07, guest room 1:59, upstairs bathroom clock has been stuck at 10 for days, and my running wrist watch 2:04. Therefore, if I am ever eleven minutes late or early to an event...I should be considered on time depending on what clock I go by. Does anyone else have every clock in their house at a different time? Maybe I will change them all to read the same time. Second issue...found the duct tape...considering using it to tape the kids to the wall (Okay not really..but you get what kind of day we are having)! Anyone have a better idea than duct tape?

OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING!

I know I just posted yesterday, but I have to tell you what a beautiful morning it is! I was thinking it wouldn't be so great when Carson was knocking on his door around 6:15 this morning, and knocked so loud he woke up Hailey. But Hailey went back to sleep, and I convinced Carson to go back to sleep with me on my bed. Well the kids slept until 8! Yes that's right, I said 8! WOO HOO! That NEVER happens around here! I feel so rested. I am ready for a good day, hopefully accomplishing a lot. I hope everyone else had sweet dreams too!

Movies

So we have watched a few movies recently....thought I'd share some reviews for you.

1. Enchanted - LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT. It has great music, a great story, and good acting (nothing like a nicolas cage movie...sorry if anyone likes him but I think he is a horrible actor!) If you haven't seen it, WATCH IT TONIGHT! I am thinking about buying the soundtrack because I liked it so much.
2. I am Legend - DID NOT LIKE IT. Most people really liked this show. I am a MAJOR Will Smith fan, and was really excited to watch this show. I was expecting a little suspense and drama. I was not expecting scary and horror. To some of you who may have seen this and disagree, let me explain...I don't do scary movies. We watched this Saturday night and last night was the first night I did not have nightmares. I even woke up Bridger in the middle of the night to get Hailey who was crying because I didn't dare get out of bed in the dark. The zombies in it were creepy/devilish looking. The storyline - being the last one in the world was interesting with the twist they put on the show. Overall - would not suggest it if you are sensitive and don't like scary.
3. Work and the Glory III - LIKED IT. Bridger and I have seen the first two a long time ago, but we finally watched the third show last night. I have really enjoyed these films. Although the third one was not my favorite it was really good. I would suggest watching all of them.

Since we watch movies for date nights do you have any suggestions? I kind of want to see Nancy Drew. I read all those books growing up. Anyone seen it yet?

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! I hope you all had a fabulous Easter yesterday. Our day was nice. After church we had a picnic in our backyard and then laid on a blanket for a while outside. It was really nice weather. Of course the Easter Bunny had left a few things for Carson and Hailey. Here are some photos.

We decided to try and take some family photos on our own.

Um...trying to get two kids to smile and look at the camera is pretty tough when you've got the camera on auto. These two are the best shots we got.

Fun Pictures

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. The camera is now working, yeah! Here are some photos of the kids.

Carson took this photo with just a little help from the tripod. Good job Carson!

Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show

Yesterday we went to the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show. It was really fun! It was really hot too! We were inside for some of it, but the sun beat down on us quite a bit while we were outside. Good thing we had sun screen on. Here are some photos from the day. They aren't that great...camera is still not working. Bridger took these on his phone.

Check out some of these huge longhorns!

Carson petting the calf.

Waiting for the peewee competition to start (I have no idea what it was really called.)

Hailey loves her daddy, and the spectacular view she gets on his shoulders.

"Mommy, can I please go in and play with one?"

"If I could just get this in gear, we'd be off."

It is so hot, now that I've had a snack can we PLEASE go home?

Alisha the Bull Rider

That's right folks, I can cross my first item off of my bucket list. Call me crazy, but I rode a mechanical bull at the Houston Rodeo/Livestock Show yesterday. WHOAH NELLY, it rocked! I have to be honest, it was way harder than I thought it would be. I know I looked ridiculous, but I am pretty proud of myself. If you have never done it...you have to try at least once. The photos are not that great, Bridger took them on his blackberry phone.

Waiting in line at the Fear Zone on Pain Street.

Getting some instructions so I don't hurt myself too bad.

Climbing on the BULL!

What, say that again, I missed the last part, crap...too late!

Attempting to keep my hand in the air (it stayed up the whole time!)

Bridger thought I was going down on this one, but I stayed on.

Hanging on for dear life. (Believe it or not your legs do most of the work, although my hand was bright red when I was done.)

WooHoo, so close to then end, we are way beyond 8 seconds by now!

There I go, but hey, talk about falling with style. It was no little fall down, I SMACKED the pad!

I'll keep you updated with other items from my bucket list. I am currently working on two others right now, but they may take a year or so to complete!

Reverse Psychology

Sorry, no photos Grandparents. Um...our camera is temporarily not working. So Carson is such a little hoot lately. His latest thing that he does is reverse psychology. Let me give you the two most common lines he uses:

Carson: "Mom I don't want any chocolate."
Me: "You don't want chocolate?" (making sure I heard him correctly)
Carson: "Yes, yes I do want chocolate, thank you!"

Sneeky little devil! Here's the other popular one around here:

Carson: "I do not want to go to Luke's house and play."
Me: "You don't want to play at Luke's house?"
Carson: "Yes, I do want to play at Luke's house, let go right now!"

What a little turkey. Even though he does it all the time he still gets me about half of the time. He is definitely one smart little cookie! His best weapon? Possibly those cute eyes, but I'd have to say he usually asks me when I am busy like cooking dinner or taking care of Hailey.

Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday was the annual Eagle Springs Easter Egg Hunt. I think it is so weird that Easter is 6 days after St. Patricks Day this year. Anyways, the kids had a blast. Here are a few pictures of the Easter Egg Hunt.
Carson would NOT go get his picture taken with the Easter Bunny, he was holding onto my leg, super TIGHT!

After the Easter Egg Hunt they had a petting zoo there for the kids. Carson and Hailey loved all the animals. All around it was a fun morning!

Cutie Pie

Hailey was happy to finally be able to fit into the cute dress Aunt Briana gave her. She was looking pretty darn cute at church today.

BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE!!

BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE!! No I am not really going to sell my children, but I think from the title of the blog you can understand what type of day I've been having. Don't let the photo fool you, sure they look all sweet and innocent in their pajamas. (Yes Hailey wears lots of boy clothes, what's wrong with hand-me-downs ?)I don't even want to vent about it, there's too much. I'm just going to bed early, and waking up when it's a new day!

New Puppy!

No we did not get a new puppy, but our friends did. Carson, Hailey and I went to see the newest addition to the Malwitz family. Raja is adorable. It was funny because Carson was really excited to go see the puppy, but once we got there he wasn't too excited. He pet the dog for a minute, but then wanted to watch a movie. I think he is still a little nervous around dogs. Hailey on the other hand was obsessed with Raja. She loved the puppy. It was really cute to watch. Here are some pictures of Raja, Hailey, Carson and Erin.
