Post Christmas Round Up #3

On Friday night we stopped by to see Nathan's grandparents - they absolutely adore Logan and it is clear he adores them. Afterwards we went out to my parents to spend the night. I have to say that growing up out in the country wasn't SUPER fun because none of your friends or their parents really wanted to drive out there to hang out. HOWEVER - going back there now it is like a oasis of comfort and relaxation! None of us wanted to go home at the end of the day Saturday! Sarah and I were quite comfy in our snuggies Friday night as you can see below. Look you can see our hands!! HA!

We put the kiddos to bed and then my brother, Kyle, sister-in-law, Sarah, Nathan and I stayed up and played Mario Kit on the Wii and some other games, talked and just had a great time. We were til after 2:00. Can't think of the last time I was up that late! We got up - had some more cinnamon rolls (haven't had them in forever and twice in two days... YUM!) Then we headed down for some presents! Logan got this awesome chair from my parents. He thinks it is really cool. (Side story: this morning Logan was sitting in it at home and decided it was better to stand on. In an effort to help him understand chairs are for sitting I told him to sit down on his bottom like a good boy. No joke he turns his head, looks me straight in the eye and says, "NO!" Then turns back to his cartoon as if nothing ever happened. Needless to say momma walked over there and sat his butt down. I swear the kid gave me a dirty look before getting out to sit on the floor!)

It is so nice to see my brother's family and hang out with my awesome niece and nephew. They are such great kids. Tommy is 3 1/2 and Piper is almost 20 months. Here are Kyle, Sarah and Nathan with Piper and Logan. (I need to remember to get pictures with ME in them... I tend to be the picture taker.)

Having Piper and Logan be so close in age is getting more and more fun the older they get. Before he was always Piper seemed so much older than Logan. They are beginning now to catch up and be pretty close as far as development. Piper still has some toddler tricks that Logan doesn't, but he'll be there soon no doubt! They are starting to play together more... or at least try to. Piper kept trying to play with Logan, but Logan kept stiff arming her or sticking his butt out to block her from getting to his toys. (Next up on the list to teach Logan: HOW TO SHARE!) They did share lots of love this weekend though and were running around together a lot!

My parents sure do love having all of us out there. I'm not sure who enjoys it more the kids or them! I do think it is tiring for my parents though - as when the kids went down for their naps on Saturday - so did Grandma and Grandpa! Here is Grandma wrangling Logan from his attempt to escape up the stairs and my dad and Logan watching the birdies out the window. One of their favorite pastimes while together.
One of the hit presents this Christmas were these remote control helicopters for Kyle and Nathan. Good gosh! At first I was trying to discourage Nathan from getting it out of the box, but silly me - everyone (including me) LOVED them. It was like a giant fly that I felt was going to dive bomb my head! The kids were running all over the downstairs trying to catch them and follow them all around. It was so cute! Piper took to just standing on the mini picnic table my dad made for her and Piper to get a birds eye view of the flying!
These three little ones are certainly great blessings to our family. I can't imagine how much fun they will be in the years to come. Especially when it comes time to add more grandchildren to the mix. God has blessed us greatly and looking at these faces how can you disagree?!

I attempted to get a picture of all three together - the best we had in the end were these!

So that wraps up post Christmas updates. We will be celebrating a belated Christmas with Nathan's family on New Years Day so more pictures and memories to post about after that. We are having Nathan's siblings over for New Years Eve this year (the two grandchildren will be spending the night at my in-laws! Not sure they know what hey have gotten into, but whatever works!)
What are your plans for the New Year?

More fun sledding!

Logan's daycare is closed this week for the holidays. My mom usually has him on Mondays and Wednesdays so she opted to keep him all three days. She came in on Monday and took him home with her. Who doesn't love a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's? I know for both Nathan and I growing up those are some of my favorite memories. I was very very close to my mom's parents (my dad's passed away when I was quite young) and Nathan is still quite close to his grandparents (he still has all four of his! what a blessing, no?) Anyway - so Logan has been really enjoying some one-on-two time with them this week.

We haven't been hit with a TON of snow yet this season (knock on wood) but enough to get outside. Mom and Dad took Logan out this morning and let him go down the little hill in the front yard. He went down all by himself on my dad's big 'ol toboggan. Mom caught this action shot on her phone and sent it to me. Cracks me up. I can't wait for a few years from now when he is going down the BIG hill off the drive way (you can go well over 100 yards in one downhill adventure!) Dad said he was squealing with happiness on each trip!

Post Christmas Round Up #2

On the afternoon of Christmas Day we went over to my Aunt and Uncles house to exchange some gifts. I remember the days growing up when the Deller Family Christmas (my mom's side) was just a HUGE spectacle! All my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents.... was a joyous time. Some of my best holiday memories. ANYWAY... it is still the same cast of characters for the most part, but scaled down which is probably a good thing! ha

Logan enjoyed playing with my cousins kids and opening his gifts. His favorite was by far the Mega Blocks truck (with mega blocks - we had also got him a bag of those so it worked out perfect!)

He is still small enough that he feels it should also double as a toy for him to ride in! Nathan is totally doing his fake smile here - the man can't smile on command to save his life. Still a cute picture though!

He also got a YoGabaGaba video. I personally don't care for this show, but Logan is starting to watch a few minutes here and there. When he first dozen saw a clip of the show he totally freaked out and had a fit (this was a few months ago.)

This picture below is by far my favorite of the day. My cousin Eric's kids, Paige (6) and Ty (4)with Mr. Man. They love holding Logan on their laps. I have a great picture of Ty holding Logan last year at Christmas.

Tomorrow - Christmas with MY family! YIPEE! THAT will be picture overload. Consider yourselves warned. :-)

Post Christmas Round Up #1

What a glorious Christmas weekend. I pray everyone reading this also had a fantastic time with their family and friends.

I'll post a few over the course of the next couple days for our different get-togethers.

First up - our little family Christmas on Christmas morning! Logan woke up a little before 8 and we headed downstairs. Our tree was in the family room - the same location as our fire place - the one totally 100% off limits items in the house. So of course the temptation was too fantastic for Logan. We had to put the end table in front of it and that mostly deterred him.

I digress - Logan was pretty good at opening his gifts this year and helping us open ours. I tried so hard to get a video of him, but he was not feeling it. As soon as he saw the video camera he went after it. But with every piece of wrapping paper he tore off he squealed and screamed with happiness! It was fantastic. Logan's favorite toy from us was a toy vacuum and piano. It got to the point he carried them both around because he didn't seem to know which he wanted to play with. We also got him a sit and spin and I was shocked to see him just sit down and start spinning. He is also the proud owner of an Aquadoodle. I love that thing! He and I kind of fought over who would get a turn with it. I loved drawing with it and he loved sucking the water out of the pen after doing a little doodling. Was pretty funny actually.

Then I made some cinnamon rolls! YUM! Logan has never had one and while I did intend to give him some bites I did not expect him to walk up and snatch one off the plate. He chowed down on that thing! Nathan and I were just dying. I think I must have said, "Oh my! Look at him!!" a dozen times. ha! He really enjoyed his treat for sure. (I did follow that unhealthy breakfast up with some yogurt for good measure!)

Here are some photos from our morning.

Sitting on top of one of daddy's gifts (he got a new lens for his fancy camera, a 4 week photography class and a new Nintendo Wii game.)
Helping mommy open one of her gifts. (Nathan gave me a new jewelry box, a Snuggie and an HD radio/stereo for my iPod.)
What a sweet face... angel boy!
Proof he couldn't decide what he wanted to play with!
Cinnamon roll time!! NOM NOM NOM!

What? Did I take one of yours daddy?
Okay - here you go!
Christmas kisses!! Love it!
Tomorrow we will have a few photos from our Deller family get together!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your day is fantastic. Santa was wonderful to all of us. Logan is currently walking around carrying his Little Tikes Piano in one hand and pushing/pulling his Laugh and Learn vacuum! ha!

Logan and I have been fighting over the Aquadoodle pen. That thing is serious fun!

I don't have any pictures uploaded from this mornng yet, but here are a couple from the other night when Nathan insisted I open one of my gifts. (An HD radio and iPod stereo. LOVE IT!) Logan really loved the box. Until he broke it. Very cute.

After presents we ate some cinnimon rolls and sang Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus. We let Logan eat a cinnimon roll for the first time - he inhaled it. Just wait til you see those picture... WOAH! haha
This afternoon we are going over to my Aunt and Uncle's for Christmas dinner and gifts. If weather permits we are heading out to Nathan's grandparents and then to spend the night at my parents for presents and everything tomorrow! (We are celebrating with Nathan's family on New Years Day.)
I hope you and yours have a very blessed holiday.
All our love,
The Wolfes

You know you need to do laundry when...

Your poor child has to wear this to bed. HA! Check out his little belly hanging out. Needless to say Mommy and Daddy put a load of pajamas in the wash the next morning! The shoes were his addition. The kid can't function without shoes of some sort on his feet. He also insists upon changing them whenever he comes across a different pair.

Guest Blogging is fun!!

I know that this should probably go on my Scrapbooking Blog but I have a lot more followers to my personal blog so I figured I'd spread the news here. Enjoy!

So a dear friend of mine, Joanne, from back in the day has a great little crafting blog she started a year or so ago. She makes yummy cupcakes, adorable crafts and lovely handmade gifts. They are truly a treat to read about.

This holiday season she asked me to write a guest blog post for her with a scrapbook layout! I had a great time putting it together and I must say I felt very important to be asked to guest post on another blog! Gave me all sorts of warm fuzzies.

Please head over to Joanne's Blog - Ready, Set, Craft! and check out my guest post (please leave a comment here or there and let me know what you think!) Also take a moment to look at all the other fantastic things she is doing in her little corner of the crafting world!

Poor Mr. Man...

This morning Logan slept in til a glorious 8:30. Nathan left earlier in the morning to head out to his parents house to help out. Logan wasn't big on breakfast, but I got him to eat some yogurt and drink some milk. About 20 minutes later he was fussing a bit and I picked him up only to be COVERED in yogurt and milk. I sat him down to get something to wipe up and Logan continued to throw up three more times. I felt so bad for my little guy. I got us all cleaned up, cursed the fact that Nathan was not home, and put a call in to the doctors office. They said there was stomach bug going around and to only give him a tablespoon of water every ten minutes or so. He didn't throw up again so I gave him some saltines and water and that has successfully stayed in his belly. I will say that for the hour before Nathan came home Logan and I cuddled on the couch. It was seriously wonderful cuddle time. I loved it.

After playing with his daddy for a while he curled up on Daddy's lap and went to sleep. It was pretty cute so of course I had to bust out the camera.

Hopefully when we try to feed him a little dinner he'll still be a happy boy. Time will tell!

Oh Christmas Tree

Yesterday we ventured out to a local tree lot. We REALLY should have done this on Saturday as it was a gorgeous day (cold, but lots of Sunshine.) Oh well - we still had a good time. Last year it was blisteringly cold and Logan didn't join us. Granted he probably wouldn't have gotten much out of it considering he was about four months old!

Anyway - it was cold and wet out, but we decided to give it a try anyway. Logan LOVED the tree lot. He ran all over the place and was just having a great time. Daddy finally had to hoist him up on his shoulders to keep him wrangled.

I hope you enjoy the photos. I can't wait to see some of your family memories you make this holiday season! It is going to be a great time!

First Hair Cut

This morning on a whim we decided to take Logan to get his hair cut for the first time! EEK! His beautiful hair was 16 months in the making... and I loved it, but it needed to get a little cleaned up.

So off we went to Quick Cuts... yes the place is inexpensive, yet even $10 for his little head seemed like an awful lot!!

Logan did great - he sat up straight on daddy's lap and never uttered a peep. I had to do a little touch up behind his ears when we got home, but all the same it was still a good exprience. I think it was great for Logan because he got a sucker afterwards! (His first one!)

Granted in the end there really wasn't a HUGE difference in his hair. I maybe should have had them take it a little shorter, but I didn't have the guts on his first time out. Maybe next time.

All wrapped up and ready to go!

Daddy had to help keep his head down to get the back.

Logan was so over having his head held... but was a good sport.

All done with his sucker in hand!

Need Snow... Will Travel...

This weekend we drove up and over to the west side of giant mitten state. We were off to Cadillac to visit Nathan's grandparents. They aren't doing so well and a different family member goes up each weekend to spend time so the home health care people only have to be there on the week nights. Either way it was only supposed to be Nathan going up, but at the last minute Logan and I decided to join him. We left around 8:00 (after two trips back to the house because I forgot to turn some lights off and because we forgot something else - thankfully we remembered within a couple minutes of the house.) We drove two hours up to Mt. Pleasant and stayed at a hotel for the night. It was Logan's first night in a hotel and he did great. He isn't a huge fan of his pack and play, but slept pretty well. (Thank you Priceline for the cheaper hotel room!)

The next morning we participated in their free breakfast! YUM! Logan was totally taken aback by the elevator. He seemed to be shocked when the wall opened up and we walked in! ha!

After we left the hotel we stopped by Target to buy Logan some snow pants and boots! We don't have any show at home yet, but we knew there would be some at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We also stopped and bought Logan a sled which turned out to be the highlight of the weekend. Then off to Cadillac we went!

Grandma and Grandpa were thrilled with their extra surprise guests and it was great to watch Logan interact with them. I know it made them very happy even though he probably kept them from too much napping as he was running all over the place! ha! He slept GREAT Saturday night - I think all the playing outside and fresh air wore him out. Plus we had a good game of body slamming mommy and daddy on the bed before bath time!

Logan LOVED being out in the snow. He was laughing and smiling. Even when his hat fell down over his eyes over and over again - he didn't seem to really care.

Two more teeth also popped through on the top for a total of 8 teeth! Two on the bottom, four on the top and two molars! I think his third bottom tooth is almost there as well, if not already. FINALLY the boy is getting a good amount of teeth!

All bundled up and ready to head out! He ended up wearing his snow boots the whole rest of the weekend.

First thing he did was put his gloves in the snow and started licking the snow off them. Cracked me up. He did that again on Sunday morning when we went out for a second spin in the yard.

When we first started our adventure we sat Logan up in the sled. Clearly that wasn't working...

But Logan could care less - he was loving everything!

We pushed him down this little hill and even when his hat came down and he couldn't see - still was having a good time!

Rosy cheeks!

LOVE this picture!! Makes me smile every time I look at it.

He was trying to catch a snowflake on his tongue!

Daddy even started spinning Logan around doing Baby Donuts in the driveway and Logan loved that as well!

The next morning we went out and Logan knew just what to do. He got right on the sled (again couldn't see anything) big smile and then flopped over on his belly ready to go!

Daddy and Logan heading down the alley behind the house. Nathan said he and his siblings used to play back there all the time in the winter! It was nice for him to be able to make new memories with Logan too.

I can't wait to get Logan out to my parents house where we have TONS of sledding hills (they live out in the country) - it is going to be AWESOME!
