Ride to Cañada via Crystal Springs and Ralston with Katie. We stopped in Woodside for a pastry and mocha. It was a lovely day, and she enjoyed the majesty of Cañada. The route I took wasn't too onerous despite the 90m climb up Crystal Springs, and the weather and vistas were fantastic. Conditions of about 23C at the start.

Tunitas creek loop. Conditions were a bit warm, with a temperature of about 23 C when I started. The ocean breeze quickly mitigated this, and I was a little chilly during the long ascent up Tunitas. During my ride north on Skyline before the descent, I witnessed a spectacularly beautiful sunset with iridescent clouds, the waves of the Pacific, and illuminated mountains. I would have snapped a picture, but I was moving over 40 kph and didn't want to shed precious kinetic energy. The descent on route 92 was a bit dodgy but fortunately brief.
I stopped for 4:30 at The Bike Hut on Tunitas Creek near route 1 to refill one of my 750 mL bottles and munch some of my peanut butter pretzels. The hut is an excellent community establishment, essentially an honor system for tubes and snacks. I am fortunate to have a 600m climb so close to home.
