7*31*08...Calie loves Daddy...far from home

Colby had to stay one more week in NYC...it was time for Calie and I to venture home...Daddy has not been away before...Below is Calie's first phone call while he was away...I thought it was cute...had to share...

By the way...my FIL wanted to know what was the first thing Calie played with at home after our trip...here you go:

...No surprise here...all her shoes...wearing her green flip flops!

7*28*08...Billy's Bakery...YUMMY!

I was with my friend Jeannie when I found out we were going to NYC...she asked me to go to Billy's Bakery...she had ripped out an article about it out of a Better Homes and Gardens magazine years ago...it was indeed so yummy...and I contemplated how I could bring her back a cupcake....I brought her a dozen cookies instead...I think they traveled back home well...I waited to go right before I left so they would be a fresh as could be...It was probably a good thing I didn't go earlier otherwise I am sure I would of visted the bakery too many times!!!  As you can see Calie enjoyed her cupcake and she (we) had great conversation with some locals.

7*20*08..Toys 'R' Us Time Square

We took Calie to ride the huge 60 ft. indoor Ferris Wheel in the Time Square Toys 'R' Us...each cart was a different toy character:

     waiting in line :)

After our exciting ride, we journeyed through the store for a very fun adventure...I felt like a kid again...oohing and awing at all the toys...

I think my favorite part was being in Lego Land...my brothers did some pretty cool things with their Legos but nothing lik these...

7*19*08...Rockefeller Plaza

On the way to the plaza we passed by Radio Music City Hall:

On our way from Central Park we stopped by Rockefeller Plaza:

Prometheus at Rockefeller Center...In the winter there is a huge Christmas tree where the flags are and the tables are cleared for people to ice skate on the ice

7*19*08...Central Park..so much fun!

A beautiful day for a family outing to Central Park...

The richly-ornamented Bethesda Terrace overlooks the Lake. It also overlooks the Bethesda Fountain and it's sculpture, Angel of Waters, which was designed by Emma Stebbins in 1873. Traditionally the 'Heart of the Park' Bethesda Terrace is one of the best places in the Park for people-watching. It is also easily the most photographed with early morning fashion shoots a regular occurrence and film crews visiting on an almost weekly basis.

He was under the terrace...I liked his music

We thought it would be fun to go for a boat ride...Colby was a great rower for our family :)

After our lovely boat ride, Calie and I ventured to test our holla hoop skills...needles to say it has been a while since I have done any hollaing....Calie was not quite getting it either...she was a little young...but we had fun trying!

I can see why so many people come to hang out or wonder through Central Park...there is always something going on around you...

On our way out of the park, we went through the area of the park dedicated to John Lennon:

7*18*08..Today Show..Natasha Bedingfield Concert

Today...very very early...Calie and I grabbed a taxi to the Today Show Summer Concert Series for a concert with Natasha Bedingfield (of whom I like)...we waited in line to get corralled into the stage area...It was a long morning but a fun experience all together...They did sound checks and then she sung a couple songs at the end of the show but in between we enjoyed being apart of the Today Show...I should of called someone to record it...I know we would of had to be shown...the camera came around tons all morning...I did not get alot of pictures b/c I could not put Calie down to do too much...I did not want her to get trambled....she was pretty good for two and for not being able to run around...thanks to a purse filled with toys, books, and snacks!

For those of you who like Natasha Bedingfield or do not know who she is...I have included a small clip I was able to get during one of her songs:

7*17*08..Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island

We were told that the best way to insure you can get a ticket to go in the Statue of Liberty is to come first thing in the morning...we did!  I am actually glad we did b/c it really took us all day to see Lady Liberty and Ellis Island.
