Island Park, Idaho!!

We stayed in a beautiful place this past weekend. It was a cabin that was more like a house! I coveted the kitchen and family room! I made my first meat loaf which everyone thought was great, but I know that I can do better! Most of the weekend was super relaxed, which I needed. I read a lot, enjoyed the scenery, ate super yummy food and laughed a ton. We spent a day in Yellowstone (see below), toured Island Park, played games, and watched Tyler work on the roof. It was the perfect time of year to enjoy the colors of fall and the crisp mountain air. I loved it and want to go back in the winter when there is lots of snow to enjoy as well....hope I can bribe well enough!

Yellowstone!!!!

This past weekend was super fun! We left Thursday night after work and headed to Idaho for some fun. A friend of mine was fixing a roof for someone and we were able to tag along! I have never been to Yellowstone and we went one of the days that we were in Idaho. Talk about pretty and peaceful! It was a great time! I enjoyed reflecting on so many things while I was there and truly came away with such great experiences. I enjoyed eating in the Old Faithful Hotel restaurant, the geysers, animals, artists displays and sights of Yellowstone. We took our time and enjoyed things! We stopped at the store into West Yellowstone and I got a nice bracelet and some yummy chocolate sauce! Not many of the animals were out and about but enough that it made it a worthwhile trip. The pictures do not do it justice! I can't believe that I had never been....but we did have lots of fun in Lake Powell, Flaming George, and Arches growing up so I guess I can't complain.

Cabin Camping in Fairview

This past weekend a few friends and I went camping at MacKenzie's families cabin in the mountains near Fairview. It was a lot of fun!! We had a great time laughing, playing games, eating, hiking, and sleeping. We hiked up a mountain near the cabin one of the days. There wasn't a very good trail which was hard at times, but once we got to the top it was very pretty! The way down was an adventure as well, at some points we were climbing down some rather steep parts. We fell a few times and laughed our heads off about what we had gotten ourselves into and luckily no one was hurt! Thanks for the good times! Can't wait for this weekends adventure to Rexburg/Yellowstone!

Weekend Adventures.....

This past weekend our ward was able to go to the Heber Valley Camp. This is a camp that has been built for YW and one of the counselors in our Bishopric did some work there so we were able to use a few cabins for an overnighter. It was a lot of fun! We left on Friday night and headed up to Heber. We took it easy, playing games, eating, and exploring the area. On Saturday morning we were able to participate in one of the challenge courses that they have there. That is exactly what it was---challenging!!! The first challenge was to climb up a pole that was VERY high, walk across the rope, and then take the zip line down. I am terribly afraid of heights and this did not look fun! I wasn't about to get up there! I finally decided that I would give it a try. I didn't quite make it the entire way up the pole, but I was okay with that.....I don't have to prove anything to anyone!

The rest of the activities were a lot of fun. We had to work together as a team to accomplish the challenges. And it was fun to work together and grow closer as a ward. It was a great experience for me!!! I was able to get a lot of answers to things that have been on my mind and I know that it wasn't a coincidence. I am glad that I let them convince me to participate cause I didn't want to go. I will post the photos at a later time.

After we left we headed home but not before we stopped in Park City for lunch at Loco Lizard! I really enjoyed my carne asada!! Oh how I love that stuff!

Demolition Derby & Logan Visit

This past weekend was super fun!! Wendy and I headed up to Logan for the Demolition Derby. I haven't been in a long time and she had never been so we headed up to get away from life! We stopped on our way up Friday night at Maddox in Perry. We treated ourselves to a lovely meal! Yummy!!! When we were on our way out we had the chance to help someone whose car had broken down and then we were on our way to Logan. We arrived @ Jen's to stay the night....we chatted and played games (which I won) and then headed to bed!

We slept in on Saturday and then Jen make a very lovely breakfast of Hello Kitty waffles!! They were super yummy and cute! We then headed out to do some shopping and sight seeing/reminiscing of my time in Logan. We headed to campus for a few where we took some photos, bought some shirts and toured. We then headed out to my favorite boutique Sugar & Spice and got some GREAT deals on some cute decorations! We then headed to Aggie Ice Cream for lunch! Yes we had ice cream for lunch and it was great!!

After that we headed to a few more stores and did a little bit more shopping. There some stores that I love and we don't have in SLC and I wanted to see what they had for the holidays! It was super fun and well worth the trip! Wendy loved all the places I took her and it was great to be able to just do whatever we wanted....without any drama of life!!

We then meet up with one of Wendy's friends, her husband, and Jen for dinner. We went to yummy Firehouse Pizzeria. We enjoyed an excellent meal and conversation! We then headed to the derby!! LOVED IT!!!! We got there early to get good seats and we sure did get them! We had a perfect view to people watch as well as see the derby. We had a few friends from SLC come and meet us there and we enjoyed a lovely time watching people crash into each other, cars start on fire, and inhaled lovely car fumes!! Wendy enjoyed her first derby and my friends from SLC said it was a great pick.....well of course it was! The derby is always a fun time! Wendy and I headed home after chatting a bit with Jen and stocked up on junk food for the drive! We had a wonderful time talking, laughing, and renewing our friendship! I think that we may just do it again!
Thanks for the fun times, the memories, and the hospitality Jen!!
