The Infamous Cutco Knife!

I just wanted to share a picture of my battle wound with you!
My grandparents bought us a wonderful set of Cutco knives when we got married. They've been wonderful except this is the fourth time I've cut myself. (Also the worst ) Austin is convinced that I don't know how to use knives now and that my grandparents should have included a box of band-aids with the knives!!!

November 30th was a big day in our home. Austin had a sleepless night because of his excitement. It was the day we would hear back from the dental schools he had interviewed at.
7:00am brought much excitement when he found out he had been accepted to Virginia Commonwealth and Loma Linda University. These were his number three and number two schools respectively. He really liked both of those schools when he went to visit, but not as much as he liked UCLA. UCLA told him at the interview they would call him some time during the day. He checked his phone every five minutes until finally he got a call in the middle of his anatomy class. Words can't describe his excitement as he was told he could be a member of the Class of 2012. (That sounds so far away) We are both excited and can't wait to be back in the sunshine of the Golden State.

The snow is falling

This is what we woke up to on Saturday morning. Really appropriate considering it was December 1st!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well Austin and I cooked our first turkey this year. It came out great! We invited Austin's brother Andrew and his wife, Johanna over to for thanksgiving this year. So it was just the four of us. I decided to keep the food to the basics so that I could actually enjoy the day also.
We went and saw the movie Enchanted in the morning. Us girls enjoyed it I don't know what the boys thought! Then after a yummy dinner was nap time and then an exciting USC game that night.

One of Austin's mission companions, Tyler Calderwood invited us up to his uncle's cabin in Coalville to spend the night on Friday with two other couples. We had a fun night of games and laughs. There was no running water because they turn it off in the winter so the pipes don't freeze. There is a pump outside that gets water from a fresh spring so we used that as our water source. Really made us apprecite running water, especially Austin since the boys had to go to the bathroom outside!
After breakfast we went out to shoot some guns! I was a little nervous but I actually shot my target on my first try. Watch out!
Unfortunately I had work at one and the BYU game was at noon so we headed home after the shooting. Austin got a free ticket to the game and was so happy to be there to see BYU beat Utah!

I've Been Tagged!

I've been tagged by my friend Jamie. So I'm suppose to tell you 6 interesting things about myself, if i can think of 6 things.

1. I absolutely love to cook. I love trying new recipes. I try to try at least one new thing a week. (sometimes that doesn't always happen)

2. I'm really OCD about things being left open. EX: cupboards, drawers, closet doors, the shower curtain etc. Everything just looks so much nicer when it's closed!

3. I love to sleep in. You would think that I would still get to enjoy that luxury since I don't have any kids yet but I do have a husband who happens to be a morning person!

4. One of my newer favorite hobbies is tennis. I love to play. Austin and I used to go at least once a week before it started to get cold. Kind of ironic it took me this long to start playing again since I grew up with a dad who was a tennis pro.

5. As much as I hate getting ready for bed at night and doing the whole routine (which seems that I have made exceptionally long) I can not sleep if I don't do it. I'll continually wake up all through the night till I finally roll out of bed to do it and then find that I'm very awake and I lay there for at least an hour till I can fall asleep again. Better to just do it!

6. Austin and I have recently started renting old movies. Surprise, I love them! We've been watching Alfred Hitchcock movies and having a great time. I'd love any suggestions on other old classics.

So now I tag.... Audra, Katie, and Sidra (I don't have a lot of friends who have blogs, so I only know 3 people who haven't been tagged.)

Happy Halloween

We decided not to dress up this year, but we did play some pool. Just kidding. We found some great tatoo shirts at a Halloween store and thought we would be hardcore this year. We had a lot of fun and we even won "Scariest Costumes." I think that is because Austin was wearing makeup.

Elle won "Cutest Baby Boy Costume," the judge was so embarrassed when she found out Elle was a girl.
I decided to cook Halloween themed breakfast and dinner for Austin. I had fun doing it even though Austin didn't get that the pancakes were ghost! I thought they looked pretty good!

It's FOOTBALL SEASON!!! ( Which means I have one happy husband!) It's not only football season for the Cougars but also for "The Men of Troy," Austin's intermural flag football team. (Don't ask me where they got the name!) I love going to watch the games, Austin's two brothers Aaron and Andrew also play on the team! We have a fun time! You'll have to forgive me for my photography skills but it's hard to get a good picture when they're all running around!

Fun With The Singles Ward!

Austin and I have been enjoying serving in the Singles Ward! Let me tell you it has really filled up our social calendar, but we love it. We recently had our opening social at a local park where we all enjoyed great food and some fun football. I actually made a touchdown towards the end of the game to redeem myself after many incomplete passes!

Kelli's Twin Sister!

Wow is right, that's really me and yes that's my real hair not a wig. Last Sunday, Austin and I were talking and he said "You should go dark sometime," being completely shocked since he always tells me to go blonder I decided to embrace the idea and "go dark!" Since I've never changed my haircolor I decided why not you can always go back. I did it the very next day so its been a little over a week. These aren't the greatest pictures but it gives you an idea of why my Bishop's wife says, "Kelli's twin sister" now. I think Austin is already ready for me to be blonde again!

Cake In The Face

Well it was a little past the one year mark, but on our trip to see my family we got to get out the wedding cake! We had ordered chocolate for the top anniversary tier but the lady messed up the order and made it vanilla. We also had some of the other tiers leftover and frozen as well and we actually liked the vanilla better than the chocolate. Go figure. This time we weren't quite as nice to eachother but of course I was the one that ended up with cake in my face!

One Year Anniversary!

For our one year anniversary we went on a picnic. We went to a beautiful park in Midway. Kelli didn't know but across the street was another surprise. I told her that there was a surprise in the trunk of our car. She looked and saw a suitcase. She said, "Is it in the suitcase?" I said, "No." "Well that is not a new suitcase!" "Kel, your surprise is the suitcase. We are staying at that Bed & Breakfast across the street." She did make a great lunch and we enjoyed the scenery while we ate.

This is the Inn where we stayed. It was fabulous. Great service and great breakfast. One of the workers looked forever after we left to find Kelli's cell phone. He even went through the linens in the laundry room. The phone was in the bed stuck in the frame.
I don't know where this place got its name. It must be a swiss thing.

We had some joggers take this picture. We wish she got the inn, but oh well.
Here we are enjoying the high life. Don't worry that is sparkling grape juice.

Any place where they leave chocolate on your bed is okay with me.

My favorite part of the room was the jacuzzi tub. I took three baths while we were there. There was jets all over the place. It was great.

We ate dinner at the saloon looking restaurant behind us. It was overpriced and just okay. It was still fun though.

Kelli's Birthday August 10, 2007

Kelli wanted her birthday dinner at P.F. Changs, so that is where we ate. It was delicious as always.

Look at all the presents Kelli got. I bought her a new phone and tennis gear. We have been playing a few times a week. Kelli almost beat me last time 7-5.

Springville Art Museum August 8, 2007

It took a few tries, but we finally got the cool model airplane in the back of the picture.

Kelli tried to get a job as an exhibit.

Austin tried his hand at painting with a giant paint brush and paint tubes.

Beach House Trip July 21-25

One of our favorite activities was kayaking. We found out the next day that kayaking is a great shoulder workout!

Kelli's parents came down for a visit. We had fun bodysurfing with Ken.

The Hoover photo shoot at the beach. What a good looking family.

Almost one year and we're still in love.
