Her mommy's daughter

Her favorite book is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear". Her face lights up and she smiles like you wouldn't believe everytime we open a book. Wonder if she's going to be a bookworm like me.

(Also, notice all the laundry sitting around me . . . now we are just starting to use the couch as our closet, hee hee - oh well, no one can be good at everything!!)

Ready, Set, . . .

Evolution of a roll:
So we begin with a smile

We lay on the floor for awhile

We make a lot of grunting noises

And, Voila! Mission accomplished!

Both babies have rolled over. Pete keeps doing it when I look away! He'll be on his stomach, and I'll turn around and then he'll be on his back - he's being very mysterious about it all! Avery wiggles everytime she's on the floor. When I just put her to bed, she was trying to wiggle over. It won't be long . ..

I keep trying to get a picture of both of them up on their arms, but whenever I bring that stupid camera out one of them won't do it! When the camera is not there they both sit up on their arms smiling their heads off . . .when the camera is there, they are screaming their heads off.

Goodnight . . . I love you

I wish this would have come out better quality (it's alittle grainy), but I took it without the flash because they were falling asleep. It made me melt!

Thank you to my hubby . . .

Being a stay at home mom is so rewarding and it is absolutely the only thing I would want to be doing right now. Everyday I get to see something new that my little ones are doing and everyday I get to smile at how wonderful they are. I appreciate Pete so much that he enables me to stay home and take care of our children.

But, being a stay at home mom is tough. I love it so much, but talking baby talk all day, listening to crying for seemingly no reason and waking up early every morning NO MATTER what, is tough! So, I was so excited when our fabulous friend Christie delivered these flowers to our house and guess who they were from?? Pete wrote simply in the card "Thank you for everything you do" . . . it doesn't take much, but wow, it made me feel good! Thank you honey, I appreciate you too!!

Those crazy cajuns . . .

We live next door to two wonderful people who happen to be about the best cajun cooks! Boy, are we lucky! They are always bringing us food and last night they had a HUGE crawfish boil. They fixed over 250 lbs. of crawfish! Pete and I LOVE crawfish so we had our fill. This was the babies first crawfish boil and so we got tons of pictures. They did so well, smiled the whole time and just had a blast! Mommy had to take them home about 8:30 because Miss Avery had not taken a nap all afternoon and was cranky! Pete would have slept through it all I think. That boy can sleep anywhere!! Thank you Connie and Johnny . . .we had a blast!

First "Solid" Food

I guess you can call rice cereal "solid" even though it is so watery!! We really thought that Pete would just go after the food since he is the big eater in our house. But, we were sooo suprised when little Miss Avery just lapped it up! She did such a fantastic job and eating off the spoon. I really couldn't believe it. We got it all on video! I'm going to little by little make it a thicker and then we are going to start some of those veggies!! I can't wait!!!

4 months!

4 months have gone by so quickly! I look back now and wonder where that time went. I can't remember what my life was like before these kiddos. I'm trying to do better about journaling in their baby books about their little lives so far. I actually wrote out their "birthday" story so I could put it in their baby books. Everytime I read it, it makes me smile. What a day (and night and next day!!!) Everyone always said I would forget what I went through, and boy, were they right! I even said to Pete the other day "Oh, it wasn't so bad! I could do it again!" I think he looked at me like I had lost it!! hee hee

Well, they both are growing like weeds. Pete is just growing a little faster than his sister! When someone makes a big deal out it, I just say "Of course, he's a boy - he should be bigger!" They are both absolutely perfect. I think sometimes people forget that every baby is different . . . even twins! Avery is about 11 lbs. and Pete is 14 1/2 lbs.

My grandparents LOVE their first great grand children. I think my grandma buys them something new every day!!!

Little Pete feel asleep playing and I couldn't resist taking this picture of him!

OK - robes for the babies. We actually haven't used them for taking a bath . . .just taking a picture!!!

4 generations . . . this is a really neat time for my family!!
