Building a Garden

Will and I have always wanted a lush garden, overflowing with home-grown vegetables. We are excited to finally build one. It took us all day Saturday just to plan it out and choose our brick. We tried very hard to keep the cost down and have it still match the other stone work in the backyard. Well, we're saving on labor costs because we're doing it ourselves. But, the bricks aren't cheap. We will keep you posted and hope to present a final picture soon. It may take us another weekend before we finish the raised beds, fill them with dirt and start planting. Lots of work! And I must say that Will is like an ox. He can haul and shovel and stack all day!

Bed #1 is started

Bed #2 is layed out. We decided to wait on bed #3. We were getting in over our heads.

Long deserved frosting break...

We'll let you know how long it takes to finish.

Weekend in Heber

I haven't been into blogging much lately... for several reasons. 1) I feel like my hours to get things done, ie. when Grant sleeps, are getting shorter and shorter, but my study time is getting longer and longer. I can't even take this exam until MAY, yet I have to stick to this schedule if I want to pass it on the first try... and finally be licensed here! 2) There's always more chores living in a house than there was in a studio apartment. Go figure. 3) Grant pushes me away from the computer every time I try to use it. And he's very strong.

Anyhow, here are some things we've done this last month:

Here's Grant. We still have him ;) and yes, he still doesn't know how to eat grilled cheese and soup without wearing it. We love it.

A few weekends ago, we took a 2 hour trip to Heber, AZ to play with our friends and my sister and brother-in-law. The only kids there were Grant and Elliot (5 yrs old), my friend's boy. So it was kind of a couple's getaway.

Good eatin' at this Mexican restaurant there in Heber. I gotta hand it to Arizonians. They know Mexican food.

Grant followed Elliot everywhere and wanted to stay up late with him. He was facinated just watching him play video games. He really loves older kids and wants an older brother... hmmm... can't seem to fathom how that would work.

Grant "enjoying" the snow. He's like, "What the heck is this and why is it burning my hands?"

Mom and Grant take their first run down the hill...

Don't we look like newlyweds?? Of course, these smiles were captured right before we took a dive and skid down death mountain. It was then we laughed, well, I did, cause I was totally cushioned by Will. He stopped us right before we hit the tree.

Amber and Dallin... WITHOUT their kids! What a vacation...

We talked Amber and Travis into doing the death run as well.
