Chandler Stake Pioneer Trek

During Spring Break, the youth in our stake went on a pioneer trek. Chance was part of the Moony Family and Keaton was part of the Willis Family. They spent 4 days and nights south of Flagstaff. They participated in the trek by dressing only in pioneer clothing (with only 1 change of outfits), pushing and pulling handcarts, a taffy pull, square dancing, ax throw, candle making, killing and plucking a chicken, and many other great experiences. They had a great time and a wonderful experience. I can't wait for Race and Rylie's turn to go when they are older!

One Talented Girl!

Rylie is one talented girl! She has been taking a sewing class now for almost 10 months. Her sewing teacher convinced Rylie to enter 2 food items and 9 sewing projects. Not only did she win 2 "best of class" ribbons, she also won 5 - 1st places, 2 - 2nd places, and 3 - 3rd places! Plus, she came in 1st place in the fashion show for the cute dress she made. You can tell by the look on her face how happy she is! Way to go Rylie!

Hershey Track Meet

Race and Rylie both participated in the Hershey Track Meet at Chandler High School today. They both did well and we're really proud of them. They had a lot of fun and can't wait to try it again next year! It was really hot though. We arrived at 7:00 am and were freezing, but by 9:00 we were burning up. Thank goodness Mike remembered the umbrella! Fun times!

Triathalon

Chance and Keaton went with some of the boys from the ward to Safford to participate in a triathalon. They ran, rode bikes, and swam. Great job boys!

Easter Now and Then

Race and Rylie were the only ones that would let me take their picture Easter morning. Chance was sick, but Keaton looked handsome too! Gotta love teenagers! The black and white photo is from Easter 2003. Handsome boys and a beautiful girl! If you look, you'll notice that Race is now wearing the suit that Chance wore way back when!

What?

Okay - my kids don't believe (and even some friends) that the little girl in red, in the older picture is really me peeling carrots with my Grandma. Let me set the record straight. Yes, it really, truly is me 34 years ago. My family had gone to Basin, Wyoming to visit my grandparents for 2 weeks. We all loved it; fishing, hiking, cows, chickens, and plenty of hills, fields, and a barn to run around in. What more could a kid ask for!

You Blink and Then . . .

they're all grown up. Or at least they think they are. Ok, I'm having one of those moments. I should be writing an essay for my EDU class and all I can think about is how quickly my kids have grown up. Mike painted and rearranged his office this weekend and we kept looking through all our photo albums. All I can say is that we have cute, cute, kids and they have all grown up way to fast. (Plus, we're getting old!!)

Peeling Potatoes!

Sunday dinner is at our house today after General Conference. My boys have been smelling roast and rolls all day and can hardly wait until the rest of the family gets here! Rylie decided to help me out with peeling the potatoes. As we peeled it reminded me of when I was little and helped my Grandma Riley peel carrots. It's scary to think that this picture was taken 34 years ago! My Rylie looks a lot like I did as a little girl! I just love having her around - she completes our family!
