Fun Times with the Dyers

Leah and her two girls, Addy and Brooklyn, came to visit us last week. We had so much fun playing with them all week.

We started off their visit by going to the Fort Worth Zoo. It was so much fun. I've never been to the Fort Worth Zoo, but it was awesome. It's huge! We didn't even get through half of it. The animals were really showing off for us while we were there. They have a really cool new exhibit with reptiles and amphibians. Nathan loved the snakes the best. The elephant was swimming in the lake, which was pretty cool. There was a big alligator who had his mouth wide open so they could see all his sharp teeth. I like the parrot paradise where the kids could feed the birds with sticks with bird food on them and the birds would land right on your stick and eat off it. It was pretty cool!

There was this monkey who really took a liking to Nathan. This video shows Nathan kind of playing a little game with him. Where ever Nathan moved to, the monkey followed him. He just stared at Nathan the whole time. It was kind of neat!

The next day, we met my cousin Summer and two of her boys, Noah and Conner, at the Galleria to eat at Five Guys and play at the big play place there. I didn't have my camera with me, so I don't have pictures, but we had a good time there. Can't beat a Five Guys burger!

Then, on Friday, we took the kids to a splash park by our house.

We had such a great time with Leah and her girls.  The boys loved playing with Addy and I had a great time with my little sis.  Can't wait to see them again!

Nathan Turns 4!

On May 15th (I know I'm a little behind in blogging), our little Nathan turned 4.  This year we had a family party and let Nathan pick what we did the whole day.

Here he is opening his presents.  He requested a scooter, a red motorcycle and a big dump truck

His favorite present!

Then he wanted to go swimming.  So, we went to the rec center for a few hours of swimming fun!

After swimming, Nathan wanted Chick Fil A for dinner.  Then we went home for cake and ice cream.
Nathan requested a green race car cake.  So, that is what I attempted to make.  It really wasn't that great, but luckily Nathan isn't too picky.  He told me that I was "the best maker cake mommy ever!"  What a sweetie!

Family Vacation 2010; Florida 2.0

We must not be very creative in our vacationing because like last year, we went to Florida again this year to do Disney World, among other things. Actually, it's even worse than that. This is our fourth year in a row going to either Disneyland or Disney World.

We weren't planning on doing the same thing this year but when we heard about the "Give a Day, Get a Day" promotion Disney was offering we couldn't pass up free tickets to Disney World.

It was a little different this time; we went with my cousin Summer and her family and because it was warmer than last year (we went in March) we got to hit the beach for a day.

Overall this was a pretty cheap trip. With the free tickets and since we fly free, all we had to worry about was lodging and a car rental. We actually got a really good rate on a rental car and thanks to Summer's in-laws we stayed for virtually nothing in their time share. I think the parents were all a bit worried on how fitting 10 people (SIX boys and four adults) in a two bedroom condo would turn out, but it was great. The boys loved spending time together and we got about as much sleep as we could have hoped for.

We had a great day at Disney World except for the fact that we almost melted. It was SO hot and humid but the boys did great. Carter was a dream; I couldn't have asked for a better baby.

We had a great day at Cocoa Beach as well. The weather was perfect for the beach. The older boys loved playing in the ocean, but Carter wasn't quite sure of the water.

It was a great trip and since we've been home, the boys have been asking several times a day when are we going back. In fact, that started before we even left for the airport in Orlando. Landen even went as far as to suggest Phil should get a job in Florida so we could live there.
