Look who's 1

Carter turned one on July 22nd.  Wow, this year sure has gone by fast!  I can't believe our baby is one already.  He is such a fun, happy little guy.  He makes our family complete and we love him so much!  We had a party for him on Saturday, the 24th.  We had a whole bunch of friends over to help us celebrate.  We just did a party at home, having a BBQ and a fun water slide bounce house for all the kids.   Here are the pics!

Utah Trip Continued...

Our 11 days in Utah were jam packed (probably a bit too much, I was exhausted!) Here are some of the fun things we did.

We went swimming a few times.  These pictures are from when we swam at my parent's pool.  This was Carter's first time swimming.  He was pretty indifferent to it, until the end and then he'd had it.  He only last about 30 minutes, but at least he liked it for that long.  We also went swimming at my brother Austin's pool.  They loved that, especially because their favorite uncle, Austin was there!

Here is my mom with the two youngest grandkids.  Carter and Brooklyn are a month apart exactly.

All the cousins had a sleepover a few nights at my parent's house, complete with a movie (Alvin and the Chipmunk the first night and Princess and the Frog the second.) and popcorn.  Here they are "trying" to go to bed.

Landen, Addy, and Nate

One day we went to the Larry H. Miller Raceway in Tooele.  Nathan is a bit obsessed with race cars lately, so Grandpa Matt used his connections at the raceway for us to check it all out.  We got a tour of the car museum first, then we got to check out some of the race cars there and the boys got to get in them.  That was a definite highlight!

They were practicing for a big race that was going on that weekend, so we were able to watch them practice.

Some of the other fun things we did while in Utah was go visit some old friends, go to the park (since it was so cool), ride the train, go to Liberty Park and play in the fun water feature there, and celebrate my parent's 35th anniversary (Yeah, Mom and Dad!). It was a great trip!  Thanks to everyone for making our trip such a good one!

Fourth of July

We were lucky enough to be in Utah over the 4th of July.  We had a yummy dinner over at my parents with my brother and his wife and my sister and her family.  After dinner, the kids had a water gun fight and we had homemade ice cream and then did fireworks (Thanks Uncle Austin!).  It was so fun to all be together.  Usually, they all get together and I'm the one who isn't there.  So, it was nice to be with everyone!

Gee Family Reunion 2010

We had a wonderful Gee Family Reunion up in Utah July 1-3rd.  Phil's brother Clark's wife Melanie planned such an amazing time for all of us!  We started the reunion off hiking up the Steward Falls up Provo Canyon.  It was so beautiful.  I always forget how pretty the mountains are!  The boys had a blast with all their cousins hiking to the falls and then playing in the stream.

Then, that evening, we had a dinner at Phil's parents house.  After dinner, the kids played on the slip n' slide and then Melanie had all these fun games planned.

The next day, we spent at Willard Bay jet skiing and playing in the lake.

A trip to Utah wouldn't be complete without a stop to the BYU bookstore.  I think the boys were about as excited about this stop as Phil was.  He's already got them brain washed.  Landen pretends "college" and of course, he goes to BYU.  Future cougars!

That afternoon, Melanie planned some really cute and fun crafts for the little kids to do.  They made treasure boxes, decorated canvas bags and filled bottles with rainbow sand.  She is the best Aunt ever!

That evening, we had a BBQ and carnival in John and Kathleen's backyard.  Melanie really outdid herself with this one.  There were so many fun carnival games set up, like bean bag tosses, fishing, baseball tosses, mini golf, etc.  She also had a few of the older cousins do face painting.  And she had a cotton candy machine- because it wouldn't be a true carnival with out one.  The boys had such a blast!
Here is what their face painting looked like.  Nathan was a monster, Landen a tiger and Carter a cat (or something like that- he wouldn't let us do anything more).
Last but not least- SPaRkLeRs!!!

It was such a fun reunion and we had such a great time seeing all Phil's brothers and sisters again.  He has such a big family and they are so spread out, so it was really a treat!  The boys loved playing with all their cousins too.  I only wish we lived closer to them!

Dallas Nature and Science Museum

Back about a month ago, around the end of June, we went with my cousin Summer and her 3 boys (Caden, Noah, and Conner) to the Dallas Nature and Science Museum.  This is such a cool place to visit.  The boys LOVED it!  It was hard to get them to go home.  They had a lot of fun and were even pretty good.  We only lost Nathan once.  :)  Here are some pics.

The babies (well not so much anymore), Conner and Carter.  They were real troopers being stuck in the strollers the whole day!
