Utah Summer 2014

I was brave and drove my seven darlings to Utah.  We spent a week there doing all the things we love best:
(The Saturday prior Austin took we Ed and I to Walmart for our car food.  These two holding hands is delicious, isn't it?)
Packing piles.

Visiting my grandparents.

Our first morning there I awakened to the smell of cinnamon bread.  My mother dearest made 15 loaves and had the baking dishes washed by 8 am.

Counsin time.

More grandparental visits.

Love this of my little brother Mark -- that big boy all grown up, but still laying beside the children in his suit.
Sleeping.

 Maisie's hair cut.
 More cousin time.
 Mom's cooking.

 Fireworks.
 Church.

More grandparental visits.

A game of "Bump."
More cousins.
 Trampoline time.

 Late nights.
 Night games.
 Sleep overs.

 Breakfast.
 Parades.

And then suddenly the week is over.  We are always sad to go, but we've missed Austin so.
Looking forward to the reunion in just a couple weeks!

Tolerating Rotteness

I found myself belly laughing on two occasions yesterday -- a habit I've given up, but need to start again.

I came upstairs to find Meg running out of the office and Andy calling after her, "You just left me here to rot?"  You see, Andy and Meg were supposed to be getting their daily chores and tasks done, but were playing on the computer.  It was so funny.  Did Meg really think I wouldn't see her running out of the office, clunking in her Oobies?  Did she really think if I only caught Andy he wouldn't tattle on her?

Then at dinner Andy prayed, "We're thankful Mom tolerated us today."  I did more than just attempt to tolerate, I attempted to nurture.  Attempted.  But at least he noticed I tried.  It was so funny that I had to hold in my laughter until after the prayer.  I think a few giggles escaped early.

Maddie's #5

I can't even believe it, but Maddie is 5!  We spent the day celebrating her.
Morning presents.

Afternoon cake baking, legos and reading.

 Evening cake and singing.

We love Maddie because she is kind.  She likes to smile a lot because she is happy.  She also loves to learn.  Maddie makes our home more complete as she begs to hold our baby Lucky, empties the silverware, and plays long hours with Eddie.  Her newest adveture is piano lessons with Meg.  I love my Maddie.

Father's Day

Him.  The father of my world.

He did get to sleep in.
 Andy gave him chess.

I gave him a new suit and got his Italian leather shoes resoled, so that he would look the part as, "Father of our ward."
I would never chose any other man to be the father of my children and my eternal companion.

The rest of the last week as follows:
I took only the two little boys to buy our weekly produce and milk.  Simplest shopping trip ever, both ride in the cart.
I asked one to empty the dishwasher.  He must have heard me say, "Please dump the dishes."

Lucky rolled over.

I took all seven to the theater.  Never doing that again.

Up To

"What have you been up to?" you ask.  OK, you probably don't.
A hair cut.
 Holding little boys.
Listening to the coos of Baby.
Ignoring the middles.

 Making raw crackers.
 Making dinner.
Eating it on a themed table.
 Getting a foot massage.
Making breakfast with Eddie's "twin" egg.
 Reading.
Going on dates.

Cleaning corners.  Maddie and Eddie made a home in my shower, complete with bedding, toys and a Book of Mormon.

Swimming for hours and hours.
Getting the chalk boards ready for Maddie's 5th birthday next week.

Eating FHE Oreos. (Maisie wanted me to add that she gave a perfect lesson about the 10 commandments and the brass serpent.)
