February Family

We spent Sunday evening with Grandma and her brand-new knee.
Monday morning Molly was her helper.
FHE treats (Meg was on the treadmill.)
Ryan lost the "Sleeping Queens" card game, so he put himself down for a nap.
It snowed!  These two caught the snowflakes in their mouths at the bus stop.
We three go to the library each week.  Today was the Dr. Suess celebration.
Best story:  I noticed some graffiti on my wall.  I also noticed a message.  "Ryan did it."  I asked Ed about it and he responded, "You're welcome."  He was very glad to be so helpful.
Saturday morning Meg left at 6:30 for her first track meet.
Saturday night at 10 she came home with two first place medals: the 800m and the 4x400!  She broke the meet record by four seconds and ran a 2.24 half mile.  She's pretty awesome.

Quickly Passing

My week just flew by -- we were super busy.  But Tuesday night we all spontaneously gathered in the playroom for like 30 minutes together.  We played games and chatted.  It was a little piece of heaven.  This picture does not translate the unity we felt.  (Molly followed me out.)
 Morning selfies.
For YW Maisie toured the OR at the hospital.  She game home in a full get-up.  Both Meg and Maisie really loved it.
Here is nice Nick at the invention convention.  I thought he was really clever.
Thursday evening Maddie handed me this note.  She forgot to do her book report, and she needed help reading an entire book and making a report.  So, she found a book and got to work.  When I left that evening to get dinner to Grandpa I was unsure about her progress.  She surprised me and we were able to get it all done, and she went to bed on time.  She's a great student, even though she forgets things sometimes.
That same night Andy told me that his science fair conclusions and data were due.  Yet another project to work through.  But, we completed it by 9:30.  Go, us!
It snowed!  Friday afternoon the snow came down.  Ryan and I went outside for a few minutes, then we came in and did what all people should do on a cozy afternoon -- we napped, for a good long time.
I made hot chocolate and Chex mix for an afternoon snack.  All were thrilled.

Andy had two games on Saturday.  I took only Molly to the second one.  She navigated the tall slides all by herself.  She's very big.
Austin was in Phoenix with his dad and his fourth chemo round all weekend.  But, because of the tender mercies of God, his tumor is gone which means his surgery and chemo are doing exactly what they were designed to do -- save lives.  I just spent the Sunday afternoon with Diane.  She had her knee replaced on Tuesday.  She is really pushing through the pain of physical therapy.  I am so proud of her.  How blessed I am to be apart of their lives.  They are easy to love.

Favorite February Finds

Since I didn't have very many pictures in my phone from last week, I made an effort to take a million this week.
Monday night Meg and I found ourselves on the kitchen floor with our legs in the air.  My knees now wrinkle, so I have to bend them just a bit to prevent that. :(
Here's is Eddie second 100 day project -- a gumball machine with 100 gumballs.
And on to Valentine's Day.  Molly awakened at 5 am, so we had plenty of time to decorate the table and share our love.

Maddie's heart hair is her favorite.

Andy is certainly a hunk with that metal mouth.
 Nick is a lady killer.
Eddie is my little heart breaker.
Ryan lives the life -- no school or chores.
 Molly have me extra kisses.
 Here we are together.
It was a rainy day for our weekly park visit, so we called our favorite friends for a day at McDonald's.  It was lovely.  We had the entire area to ourselves, and the children played so nicely together.
 Ryan is my little leech.
After school I had to show the valentine loot.

I mean, some clever mother sent home mustaches for the kids.  He found his cowboy hat and I loved him all afternoon.
Ryan and I had to make some cookies.
 Afternoon kitchen with my peeps.
I finally got a few smooches from my favorite valentine.
Nick's invention convention project was due.    He come up with the idea all by himself.
Big boy and big little boy matched.
Little big boy and big little boy matched.
Friday night Austin took his three big girls for a night on the town.
We went shopping.

We went to dinner.

 We went to the theater!
Andy and Nick were in charge all night.  Saturday morning I heard rave reviews from all their loyal subjects about their time together.  They used no dishes for dinner, played under the tramp, didn't brush teeth or wear pajamas, but they were happy.
Blessed you Ryan and Eddie, you climb into Molly's crib and entertain her for thirty extra minutes on weekend mornings.
 Nick helped Austin with dinner.
It was stake conference today, so Austin was home to help.  He put two left shoes on poor Ryan.
Maddie and I read the Friend all afternoon.
