One busy little monkey!

I hope you all had a “Happy Halloween”! Blake sure did! He was one busy little monkey! At first I found him the cutest little lion costume but when I went back to get it they only had size 18months. For those of you that have seen Blake he is only 14months old but wears a 2T! So, he ended up being a monkey. My brother said that he looked more like a mouse. Go figure… brotherly love! Ha On Friday night James parents came to visit (Grampy and Noni) Blake was so, excited as were James and I. It’s like a little vacation when they come because they take the early morning shift with Blake and that means that we can sleep in! On Saturday Noni, Blake and I went to lunch and then did a little shopping. When we got back home it was like Christmas for me because Grampy went and bought Blake diapers and wipes! How funny is it that I now put diapers and wipes in the same excitement category as Christmas gifts! O how my priorities have changed! Blake laid down for a nap and when he woke up it was time to put on his monkey costume and do a little trick or treating. We made a few stops before heading to my bosses Halloween party and then after the party it was on to the Fire Station because like every holiday James was working! Sunday morning we went to church watched a little Cowboy’s football (Yea they WON), napped and then on to “Sesame Street Live”! As you can see in the last picture Blake had a pretty busy weekend. When we got home from the concert he passed out on the carpet in the living room. He slept very well Sunday night!

WFFD Supports Pink

Blake and I made a trip to the Fire Station to see James yesterday. The guys were wearing pink duty shirts to support breast cancer awareness.

Even though Blake can’t say that he loves going to see his daddy at the station you can sure tell that he does.

Pumpkin Patch 2009

This past weekend we traveled to Lewisville to visit Noni and Grampy (James parents). We left when I got off of work Friday and just as we made it to Lewisville Blake fell asleep. I think his Noni and Grampy were a little disappointed that they didn’t get to hug and kiss on him when we arrived. James was up early and headed to Fort Worth to work a Gun and Knife show with a friend of his that makes calls. Can’t you just see the excitement on my face? Anyways, while James was gone we decided to do a little shopping. We went and got Blake a few cute little fall outfits along with his Monkey Halloween Costume! After shopping we went to Chick-fil-a. This is one of my favorite places and with not having one in Wichita you can always bet I we will being going there at least once while we are in Lewisville! By this time Blake was full and ready for a nap. After his nap we decide to take Blake to the Pumpkin Patch. You can see in the pictures that he was having a great time. I was able to get a few pictures of him being still but all of the others were of him on the run. Early Sunday morning Blake’s great grandparents came to visit him. You could surly tell that he was excited to see them! Thanks again Mama T and Papa T for making the trip! We love you!

Having a snack before we left for the Pumpkin Patch.

This is what I like to call Blake's Happy Hair!

O one more thing I was not planning on getting Blake the flu shot but after James and I discussed it last night we decided that maybe it would be a good idea to go ahead and get him one. James took him in first thing this morning so maybe they wouldn’t have to wait and they were out of there by 8:25. He said that Blake didn’t even shed one tear! Such a big boy! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Class Representative

I would like to dedicate this blog entry to my nephew Chase. He was nominated as class representative for the 3rd grade class at Wichita Christian. He and his escort were announced at the Wichita Christian Homecoming Game last Friday. Aren’t they just so cute? He has also received an award for “Peacemaker” this school year. I know that all of you teachers out there would love to have more peacemakers in your classroom!

Kreativ Blogger - Thank You Thank You

Thank you to Mrs. Joy Calhoun over at Three Calhouns for this award.

So here are the rules:
1-Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2-Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3-Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4-Name 7 things about yourself that people may not know.
5-Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6-Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7-Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they've been nominated.

So, here are 7 things that you may not know about me:

1. For starters my first name is Kimberly. My parents named me Kimberly Brooke and then decided to call me Brooke because it went better with my brothers name Brian. When I started school I decided that I wanted to be called Kimberly so I changed my name from Brooke back to Kimberly. I would get so mad because at home my family would still called me Brooke and I would tell them that’s not my name! Let’s just say that the next school year I went back to Brooke. This is the reason I told James that whatever we name our baby he will go by his first name.

2. A little history; my husband and I were in the first grade together at Jefferson Elementary. We have a class picture and we are standing on the back row side by side. During elementary, James’ family moved overseas because of his dad’s job and when they returned James went to Notre Dame. During that time my parents had moved me to Holliday. The summer before my freshman year the word was out that there was to be a “new hot guy” at school. I remember rollerblading around the neighborhood with one of my friends and we ran into Mr. James Fouts. I thought wow I think I know him so I asked if he went to Jefferson elementary and he said yes. I know he thought that was a little creepy for me to remember that because he makes fun of me still to this day for remembering people I went to elementary school with. Every time we were around each other we flirted but it wasn’t until our senior year we started to date and well, look at us now!

3. It is true that you can get pregnant while on birth control. James and I married December 13, 2003 and during May 2005 (while on birth control) I got pregnant. That pregnancy however, ended in a miscarriage. After comprehending that I was in fact pregnant and then having a miscarriage made me want to get pregnant again. It then took me almost 3 ½ years to get pregnant with Blake!

4. I have now realized that my dream for having 3 children will ultimately result to 2 children. I am so grateful/proud of my husband for the career that he has chosen and the services that he provides to others but lets face it kids are expensive and well, Wichita Falls Fireman do not make a lot of money!

5. In January 2007 I only went to the dermatologist because my mom had had melanoma on her arm and she made me an appointment to get checked out. I went in and had a few skin biopsies to which one came back full melanoma. I was then sent to MD Anderson in Houston for surgery to remove the melanoma and a lymp node. Since then I have had well over 40 skin biopsies with some superficial but no more melanoma.

6. When my brother first got married I did not like my sister n law. This is no secrete incase you are wondering. We often joke about my dislike of her and now we are the BEST of friends! I can’t even really remember why but I’m SURE that I had a great reason for the dislike since I was a sophomore in High School and all! She has given me 2 precious nieces, 1 precious nephew and a lot of great advice over the years! Love Ya Becca!

7.For those of you that wonder who my child got his auburn hair from. That would be both his mamma and dada. James has a reddish beard and well, let’s just say that I have been highlighting my hair since the 7th grade. Yep, I’m auburn!

Growing Update!

Blake’s 1 year update! At birth Blake weighed 8lbs 7ozs and was 22in long. He is now 28.6lbs and is 34in Tall. He has 10 teeth (two of which are molars) and is eating real food. He has been of of the bottle since the day after his birthday but still has a passy. I can't take it all away at once, (even though Dr. Sultemeier told us too.) He is wearing a size 7 XWide shoe (pretty hard to find)! He can not only walk but now he is also running!

We love you Blake and look forward to what year # 2 brings!

This picture was taken in an old little church in Quanah TX. We went to visit my grandmother and go to church with her. Like always we ended up in the nursery. You can tell how old the nursery was by the red carpet, rocking chair and the wooden crib.

Has it really been a month?

First, I would like to apologize to Blake's Grandparents and Great Grandparents for my lack of blogging this past month! I often thought that when Blake was older I would have more time to do things but O was I so ever wrong. It seems like now that he is walking I never have a free minute. It would take me way to long to get everyone caught up on a month of blogging so I'm going to just post a few of pictures with short captions. Enjoy!

The Birthday Boy!

Blake loved his ball that Aunt Meo and Uncle Jo Jo got him!

Daddy cooking (oops I mean Grillin) burgers

A few of Blake’s gifts

Noni (My sweet mother n law) with Baby Lawson

Lawson with his mommy (Amy). This was Lawson’s first birthday to attend!

Karianna and Rylan (Blake’s Girlfriend)

Poppy (my dad) with Baby Lawson. Lawson was a big hit. It is unreal to me that this time last year that was how little Blake was!

Riley (Blake’s first cousin) going down the slide! Such a big girl.

That’s what I thought! I said NO ICE TEA but now we have proof. Grampy giving him sweet tea and Noni watching. So it wasn’t the cake that made him not sleep it was the tea!

A few guest at the party.

More guest! Thank you guys for coming!

Blake’s first piggy (fire truck) bank.

Opening his gifts/trying them out.

And on to the cake.

What a mess!

Here is his favorite car that his Aunt Becca and Uncle Brian gave him. I must say that he does love this car but I’m more proud of it because I put it together. What happened to snap together toys? I had to use a screwdriver, drill and hammer!
