One Year Old ~ Now I have tears!

One year ago on August 28, 2008 you were born! For 9 months your daddy and I anxiously awaited your arrival. You were to be here on September 5, 2008 but during my last appointment with Dr. Godfrey (which was August 25, 2008) he told your daddy and I that he would schedule for us to meet at the hospital on August 28, 2008 at 5:30am to induce labor. He did this because after my last sonogram you appeared to be a large baby and with having 11 more days to go you would be even bigger! I’m still not quite sure if he did this to help me out or if it was because for the last 3 appointments your daddy had been asking him if he would induce. I was still working up to this point and decided that I would take Wednesday off to rest. I went to work on Tuesday and had to leave early because my back was hurting so bad! Little did I know I was having contractions! We called the hospital the morning of August 28, 2008 to make sure that they had a room available because with being induce you are at the back of the line. So once we got the ok we called everyone at 4:45am to tell them we were headed to the hospital! We arrived and checked in at 5:30am and the nurse came in to start my IV and monitor to check your heart rate at 6:30am. Your daddy and I just waited and watched TV until around 7:45am. That’s when your family started to arrive! They were all so excited to meet you! At about 9:30am I could feel light contractions and by 11:00am I told your daddy to go get the nurse because I was in need of an epidural!!!!! After the epidural I was able to sleep a little bit off and on. At 1:00pm the fun began and at 3:45pm we were blessed with a perfect baby boy!
You weighed 8lbs 7 ozs and 22in long.

Blake,

We are so amazed by you every day and we love so much more then any word could ever express. Thank you so much for your unconditional love. Love You Always and Forever!

I thank my God every time I remember you. ~ Philippians 1:3

A few tears ALREADY!

So I'm already starting to tear up a bit. I know that I say this with every passing month but I truly can not believe that Blake is going to be 1 YEAR OLD this Friday. He has accomplished so much within his first year of life and James and I are so blessed to have him in our life. This has just been the most wonderful year and honestly I can not remember what we did before him. We love you sooo much and are so very proud of you Blake!

My friend Karianna and I loaded up the kids to go to dinner Saturday night. Her husband was working and James was working the medical unit at Shrinefest so we thought this would be a great time for us to catch up. We met up at Station 5 so that Rylan could see her daddy and we knew that this would be a good place to leave her car. We always give Ryan a hard time about Rylan being Blakes girlfriend so when he saw them holding hands he had to give Blake a little talk.

Saturday we were to have Blake’s 1year pictures taken but when we woke up it was raining. (We have rescheduled the pictures for this evening.) So instead of taken pictures Blake and I went shopping. Dillard’s was having there fantastic end of the season sale! After a day of shopping I felt that I needed to reward Blake for being so good so we went to the park. Blake and I went and picked up Poppy (my dad) to go to the Lakeside City Park. Blake loved the swing!

Just thought that I would throw this in - I found this little cowboy hat at my parents so I put it on him and he didn't want to take it off!
